Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
Name: Donam

Loyalties: Lady Kay, generous people and younglings

Role: Donam is semi-sentient. He's a companion/guardian/pet for those that he wishes to be with. When he loses interest or curiosity, he moves on to someone else.

Age: 10 standard years

Species: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/80594-gwaii-cat/#entry1186453

Appearance: Fur is various shades of grey, going from almost white to almost black in the winter months, while turning shades of blue in the summer months, as evident by the horns on his head.

Height: 0.65 meters at the shoulder.

Length: 1.2 meters

Weight: 11.34 kgs

Personality: Smart, friendly, witty in his own Gwaii Cat way. He can also be threatening if he wants to as he's quite protective.

Combat Function:

Strengths:

+Great Eyesight. Primarily nocturnal, the Gwaii cat has been known to see just as well in the daytime.

+Stealth. In any landscape with an abundance of flora and fauna, Gwaii cats have been able to hide due to the colours and pattern of their fur and their ability to stay perfectly still for hours.

+No Scent. The Gwaii Cat gives off no scent, which makes it an ideal hunter. Even it's purple blood is devoid of scent.

+Sharp claws and teeth. Able to help them secure a good hold on their prey, as well as defend themselves against bigger predators and poachers.

+/-Domesticated. Some Gwaii Cats have been known to be domesticated as pets. They can make great companions, often attaching themselves to one person or family in it's lifetime. However, those born in captivity do not thrive as well as those that came out of the wild on their own. Once they feel it is time to leave their 'owners', they will find a way.

Weaknesses:

-Small size. Compared to other predators, the Gwaii Cat is small enough to only hunt prey which is smaller than itself.

-Curiosity. Though not the smartest semi-sentient creatures, the Gwaii Cat will investigate that which it doesn't know. Not everything is deemed a threat at first glance.

-Territorial. Though they may seem friendly and sociable, Gwaii Cats are extremely territorial and would not allow another of it's species nearer than 15 kilometres, except during mating season.

Notable Possessions: None.

History: Donam came to Commenor with Lady Kay during one of her visits to Imahalyan. He was able to go wherever he pleased in her Presidential Palace. It wasn't long though before he got bored of it.
So he headed off to explore the many Embassies nearby.

That was where he had come across the Neimoidian Embassy. Two young Neimodians barely into their teens caught his eye and his curiosity. He got himself acquainted with them, played with them and they admired him for his beauty and how expensive he looked. Or at least, that's what they told their father, Eungso. He was a true Neimoidian in every respect, frowning upon anything that didn't showcase his wealth and importance in the Embassy, belittling his younglings whenever he felt that they were too nice to their nameless servants.

Just before Life Day, Eungso had had enough. He decided to teach his younglings a lesson and tore up their clothes, beat them, and told them to work to regain their place as his kin. Donam did not approve....

In the early hours of Life Day, while Eungso was sleeping, Donam growled and yipped at his door. With a leap to the access panel, he opened it and went inside. As the Gwaii Cat approached the bed, he growled loudly to be sure that Eungso heard him coming. It woke up the Neimoidian, especially as Donam got onto his bed and approached him. The two stared at eachother, Eungso in fear and Donam with a contained rage, growling and yipping under his breath, telling him off in his own Gwaii Cat manner.

Then the claws came out, one by one on each front paw. With a glint in his eye he leaped off the bed and went to Eungso's wardrobe where all of his most precious robes and clothing were. Donam leaped into it, hooked his claws into some of the clothing and let gravity do it's work, pulling him down and ripping the material. Eungso just watched in horror. When the Neimoidian stumbled out of bed and approached, Donam just hissed in warning, causing him to stop. Eungso pleaded with the Gwaii Cat, but it didn't seem to work until Donam destroyed a few more robes.

The younglings came in, hearing the commotion. Donam stopped then and approached them, rubbing up to them as they stood in shock. He pushed them towards the wardrobe. Eungso just watched while Donam grabbed a couple of robes at the bottom with his mouth and tugged on them. The younglings went to stop him from ruining more of their father's clothes. They took the robes and held them. Whenever Eungso tried to speak or move to take them, Donam growled at him. It took a bit, but the younglings began to understand what Donam was getting at. They put the robes on. The clothing was a little large for them, but looked far better than the rags they wore instead. Donam glared at Eungso as he started to protest. Finally Eungso just mumbled out three words, "Happy Life Day..."

The younglings were treated better after that day. Donam stayed with them on occasion, especially near Life Day. On it's Eve, the Gwaii Cat would stop by Eungso's door, growling and yipping. The Neimoidian would come out in a flash, showcasing the new robes that he was handing to his younglings as gifts, doing what he could to be sure that his own won't be torn up. Donam would nod when satisfied and continue down the hall.

The story soon spread to other Neimoidians and it began the tradition of new robes for Life Day, lest the Gwaii Cat comes. Of course Donam's description soon was exaggurated to an increased size, larger teeth, claws and horns. But that's what happens with legends over time.

I touched on it in the first paragraph of his history. But I can expand on it, if you'd like.

The way that they 'attach' themselves to an individual or family is also in the Gwaii Cat species sub.
