GENERAL INFORMATION
Lhysis was the youngest daughter of a middling noble family from Hapes, one that possessed little in the way of true wealth or influence. During the brief civil war that erupted in the wake of Prince Astor Daaray's death and that of his sister, the Queen, Lhysis' family was killed. Though they had long been known as staunch supporters of the Crown, the family was gunned down by the Hapan Guard after receiving a tip that they were harboring fugitives connected to the Crimson Veil, the group responsible for the Prince's murder.
Curiously, Lhysis was nowhere to be found at the time of the executions, and hasn't been seen on Hapes since.

Born in the capital of Hapes, Lhysis was the youngest of four children: three daughters and one son. Although her mother held the title of Marka, a rank roughly equivalent to a Marchese, the family had endured considerable hardship long before Lhysis's birth and possessed little true wealth beyond their name. Being the last daughter, she stood to inherit neither her mother's title, nor what few assets remained to the family. Thus, Lhysis's education was treated as an expendable luxury in favor of her eldest sister and brother, whom her parents placed their hopes in rescuing them out of financial ruin.Early Childhood
The consequences of that neglect became evident early, with Lhysis growing up illiterate, a deficiency her sisters exploited as a tool of humiliation. Pressed by expectations and frustrations of their own, she became an easy target for them to punch down on. Yet for all the cruelty she endured within her household, Lhysis was not entirely without allies, finding what little shelter there was in the affections of her father and brother.
At the age of twelve, Lhysis was sent away under cover of night by her father, in his sole act of defiance against his wife, to the Eren'ta, the Daughters of the Erenda, an order devoted to preserving the legacy of Hapes' Queen Mothers.Pre-Teen
During her time there, Lhysis finally began to receive the education she'd been denied all her life, slowly learning to read and write alongside the histories of her people. It was a constant struggle, having started these lessons well past the age at which most children had already mastered them, and she quickly found that she had no natural talent for formal study. Still, she was an attentive and determined student, driven by the desperate desire to learn and prove herself.
On her first visit home, Lhysis, feeling that she'd finally found her place, declared her intention to join the Eren'ta formally and dedicate her life to their service. Her mother, still incensed by what was conspired behind her back, gave her answer in ruthlessness. Lhysis was confined and forced, under threat of her father's life, to place her name upon a false account accusing the order of taking and indoctrinating her against her family's wishes.
That testimony, the testimony of a nobles child, was used to move against all who'd sheltered her.
In one day the chapter was dissolved and its members imprisoned, driven into hiding, or made to disappear. Later, Lhysis learned that several of her former tutors died in custody, or under other circumstances that'd been officially deemed 'accidental'. Anyone who knew the family didn't actually believe those accounts, but also knew better than to utter those accusations out loud.

APPEARANCE
Lhysis stands at five feet and seven inches, with thick, naturally curling blonde hair that appears almost white beneath fluorescent light. Her eyes are a reflective blue, marked by a concentrated ring of violet around the iris. Her nose is gently sloped and button-like, while her mouth is delicate, well-shaped, and often curved just slightly, as though amused by some secret that no one else is privy to.
Her skin is a warm white, and she keeps her fingernails neatly trimmed and manicured at all times, though she never wears colored polish, preferring only a clear coat. Her clothing tends toward the ostentatious but stylish, favoring dramatic silhouettes, rich fabrics, and shades of gold and purple.

PERSONALITY
Bold, enthusiastic, and defiant. These are only a few of the words one might use to describe Lhysis, who often seems to delight in her own arrogance, carrying herself with effortless superiority and a confidence that borders unapologetically on conceit.
Beneath that bright, over-the-top personality, however, lies a far more tortured soul. The few who know her, understand that much of what she presents to the world is nothing more than a carefully crafted façade, a performance meant to disguise the impulsivity, bouts of deep despair, and the self-destructive streak that drives her to test boundaries, simply to see what will happen. At her core, Lhysis believes herself to be unlovable, convinced that those around her will always leave her in the end.
So she might as well laugh, make a spectacle of herself, and enjoy the performance until it is time to show her temporary affections to the door.
