Leverage, position, advantage - As Natural as Breathing (Abyss)

"Better, but how do you move?"

Coming back in front of him, she slipped into the same position as her apprentice. The curved lightsabre hilt springing to life with a scarlet blade before moving into a deliberate thrust for his torso. She made sure he could see it but moved quick enough to make it a challenge. He needed to see it coming if he were to react. Form came first, then speed and strength. That was the discipline of Makashi.

"Step back, maintain the distance. Parry, don't block."

She moved from the thrust to wrist-powered cut for his shoulder, testing his defence and his movement.

"Fluent, swift, without fear or remorse."

From the wrist cut for the shoulder, she withdrew the blade into a swift rising cut from the elbow. This time, she put power from the Force into the cut, testing how strongly he could redirect her attack.

As the thrust moved towards him, Abyss took a step back as his master had commanded him, focusing his weight on his right leg that was now slightly behind his body. The lightsaber in his hand made a lightly movement to the right, more touching his masters blade than actually putting pressure on it. The slight redirection and the change of his position allowed him to evade her first strike.

Then the next attack followed. Instead of parrying it, Abyss took a wide step back, watching as the blade cutted trough the air only centimeters away from him. He could feel the heat of the energy blade burning under his robe.

Swinging his blade with both hand from his left, like he was trying to hit an imaginary enemy, Abyss tried to parry her attack, putting both his weight and strength into the move of his weapon

Cut and thrust, she pressed him, forging his understanding of the form through action. He could read and read, but only by wielding the weapon would he truly understand it. As with the lightsabre, it was also with the Force. Their blades hissed and screamed as the energies collided. For a moment, she held it static. The Force and her own considerable physique kept his blade in check one-handed.

"Good, good. Considerable power."

Hidden behind her slender form, her free hand tingled with building energy as she raised it over her head and pointed the fingers down from above, like the claws of a bird of prey attached to the dainty hand of a Twi'lek ballerina.

"However, the Contention Form uses one-handed techniques so as to better utilise or protect oneself from techniques of the Force."

Pale blue sparks shot from her fingertips and at her apprentice as a malicious smile spread over the grey lips, revealing the white teeth beneath. Her burning eyes glowed with amusement as she made her point.
