Loomi was different. Quite literally, she was no longer the same. Weeks of stressful, restless nights, all culminating in the worst night she had ever had in her life. Tossing, turning, a thundering headache, and a terrible bout of nightmares. When she finally woke after a day long slumber, Loomi emerged from her room with a small pair of wings. To say that she was panicked was a bit of an understatement. After some late-night consulting from her Master, the Godoan scrambled to set up an appointment with her designated doctor in the Halls of Healing. She needed to know that everything was alright, physically speaking anyways.

And to get out her confused and muddled thoughts. That was a big one.

The teen awkwardly peered into Kat's work space, a nervous look growing on her face whenever she caught sight of the healer. This was all still very embarrassing. She looked even more ridiculous now. Loomi couldn't just stand at a distance though. Kat had to see what was wrong so she could assess her and see how bad this really was.

"M-miss Kat?" she began, wanting to first make her presence known. "I... uh..."

She let out a breath, stepping into the medical room. By this point the small moth-like wings were fully in view.

"S-something happened," the Godoan stammered. "I... I don't know what it is."

Kat had been working hard at the Halls of Healing, prepping things for the next war, it seemed that things with the Sith were looming ahead once more. A position that meant that the Order needed to be prepared for healing and ensuring that Padawans, Knights and Masters were all well taken care for. Also meant that she was attempting to offer lessons in healing and medicine to anyone that may pose an interest. Even basic medical care could be life saving in the field and Kat was determined to ensure that everyone was ready.

When she saw that Loomi had booked another appointment with her, Kat smiled, Loomi was a great Padawan and very sweet as a person. She was hopeful that everything was okay, or that this might be related to her memory lapses, a way to help her find whoever did this to her. Taking a sip of her caf, Kat scrolled through some medical texts that were newly published, as she was constantly ensuring that she was ready for the latest.

Sensing the nervous aura of Loomi before she got to the door, Kat placed everything away and looked over. A warm smile greeted Loomi as she entered the room. "Greetings Loomi!" Kat shifted from behind her desk and gestured that Loomi came in and took a seat.

When she spotted the new wings that sprung from Loomi, Kat crossed her arms and rubbed her chin in thought. This was certainly a new one. After their first appointment, Kat had taken steps into understanding Godoan physiology since she knew it could be helpful for Loomi to understand the things that her species could and couldn't do. Also helped Kat in understanding the ways she could best help her patient as well.

Moth-like wings were not the normal addition to a Godoan physiology.

"I can see, this is definitely something new. Take a seat and tell me everything that happened before these appeared and when you first noticed them." Kat's mind was now in medical investigation mode, wanting to figure out what happened.

"W-well," Loomi began. "I had a really bad night pretty recently... I-I've had trouble sleeping for a while now, but this was... different. M-my head hurt really bad, a-and I felt all itchy. Finally I laid down on my tummy and it felt better, so I just went to sleep. I-I think I slept for a whole day cause I woke up the next night..."

She frowned, nervously twirling her thumbs in her folded hands, which sat in her lap.

"Th-that's when I saw them," she explained. "I-in the mirror after feeling something weird on my back."

Her concern was pretty evident. After all, it didn't seem normal to suddenly sprout wings. When she visited Ord Providence with Ko Vuto Ko Vuto a while back she had seen adult Godoans, and none of them had wings. Something had to be wrong with her, right?

"I... I'm not dying, am I?" the teen asked naively.

Kat sat and listened to what happened and thought about what it could all mean. Nothing seemed to suggest it was foul play or that something sinister was happening. But Kat also unfortunately didn't have a full history of Loomi, since she couldn't remember much beyond meeting Kahlil. So, it was a bit of a pickle, however, her aura was calm and she gave a warm, comforting aura in the Force. Only to help soothe the anxieties of Loomi, Kat knew that anxiety and fear could spiral down hard and cause more issues than it would solve.

"Very good to know, sounds like when they were coming in that sleeping on your back was too painful. Which makes sense." Kat informed Loomi, hoping that answer her symptoms from the night before, "and you are at an age where changes physically can happen, of course, this seems to be a massive mutation for Godoans."

When Loomi asked she was dying, Kat smiled reassuringly, "I won't lie and say I know for definite that you aren't and I won't give you the nonsense answer of that we are all dying, just at various speed." She reached forward to squeeze Loomi's shoulder, "however, I am going to do my best to figure out what has happened. Once we do that, then we know what is our next steps and if this is something severe, together we will face it and deal with it. I promise you that."

It wasn't an answer that would be soothing as saying that Loomi's condition wasn't serious and that she would be fine, but Kat refused to lie to the Padawan and knew she needed to be honest about the limitations in her ability. She would be rather be honest than lie and end up wrong, "first of, I want to ask if I can examine the wings, touch them and maybe use the Force to sense things. If at any point you are uncomfortable, in pain or want me to stop, just ask me to stop and I will." She didn't want to trigger Loomi with the previous experience she had.

"I have some ideas of what it could be, but will need to test for certain. Is that okay?"

"I have some ideas of what it could be, but will need to test for certain. Is that okay?"

"O-okay," Loomi nodded.

Loomi was a bit nervous at the remark of discomfort being caused, but she at least needed to know what this was about. There was really only one way to do that, and sitting here being scared wasn't going to get anything done. She needed to puff out her chest and have a little bit of confidence, or at least put on a brave face. She could do this.

"Yeah," the Godoan continued, a bit more confident now. "Go for it."

Kat smiled towards Loomi, she then stepped behind the young Padawan and began to study the wings. They were certainly not something that looked unnatural or deadly, but they were not something one would deem useful for flight. It was curious why they would develop, seemed to be something redundant in her opinion at least. "Visually, there appears to be nothing wrong with them. They don't seem to be wings developed for flying, which is curious, but that could be due to the fact you are still growing."

Placing a hand on the center of Loomi's back, she closed her eyes and allowed the Force to guide her. Sense the body of Loomi, how the wings were connected and if there were any indications of why they appeared so suddenly. It was not the scientific approach, but this could be the easiest way of soothing Loomi's nerves and a step towards a detailed explanation.

"I am just sensing things through the Force Loomi, hopefully that will provide an answer on whether these wings are something we need to be cautious about." Kat explained to the Padawan, not wishing for her to feel left out on what was happening.

"Oh," Loomi frowned.

They didn't serve a purpose? That seemed... odd. It was pretty easy to tell why though. They seemed far too small to even give her an inch off the ground. But at least they seemed to be healthy. Right?

"I am just sensing things through the Force Loomi, hopefully that will provide an answer on whether these wings are something we need to be cautious about."

"O-okay," she nodded, tilting her head to glance back. "So, uh, how often does stuff like this happen to people?"

That was a weird question, right? Suddenly growing new body parts seemed ridiculous.

"Not a lot of people sprout new body parts, so gotta be honest, this is a first for me." Kat chuckled, "however, given your history, I got some ideas of what could be the cause of it. Just need to ensure that the evidence supports that." Kat reassured Loomi that were was some idea that the Jedi Healer had about what was going on with her.

Feeling the Force around Loomi and then probing deeper, feeling the way her body was working and sensing the way the wings were connected to her, "seems that these are not deadly or going to kill you, there is nothing sinister that I can in the Force and nothing that seems out of the ordinary for your body. So right now, the most I can say is that these are natural and a part of you, similar to how some races have wings."

"One thing that I can think of, is that you are not Godoan in the same way as others you have met. That you might be slightly different, subspecies of the race, like subspecies of Zabrak, Humans and others, nothing harmful or awful. Just a mutation that caused these wings," Kat informed Loomi, "we would need to do some blood tests to confirm but that's sort of the idea I have from everything I am sensing and from what you have said. It could be why you woke up in a laboratory, someone seeking to do awful experiments to understand a new subspecies, or create a new one. However, we can keep an eye on the wings, see if they develop more or if they cause any other changes."

She moved to face Loomi and gave a smile, "hopefully, none of this sounds scary or bad. They are very pretty and might take time to adjust to having them but I think you will be able to do great. Took me ages to learn to walk when I needed legs." She tapped her robotic legs with a soft chuckle, "but we always learn to adapt. What makes people like us strong." She winked to Loomi.
