His eyes closed.

His mind clear, for the first time, in a LONG time.

Quietly he sat, in the middle of the outdoor training grounds.

It’s funny, all it took was being here, on this planet, after everything that had gone down, everything that had happened, his mind was clear. Happy? He was always happy, and had his wife to thank for that. However this, all of this now was clear. Everything was clear. He felt at peace, surrounded by the vastness of the training grounds. The air was crisp, and the sounds of nature filled his ears. He took a deep breath, savoring the moment, and let out a contented sigh. For the first time in a long time, he felt truly alive. He embraced the tranquility, letting it wash over him like a soothing balm. The weight of the past seemed to lift, replaced by a profound sense of clarity. In that moment, he knew he was exactly where he needed to be, ready to face whatever came next.

Of course he had a vision of how today was going to possibly go. Which is why he was out here. Sitting, and waiting. Waiting for everything, and/or everyone to bring it to fruition.

Tython, the planet it is said to be where studies and training in the Force began. A world containing forest terrain, mountain scenery and incredible views. It was such an open world nothing to feel like one would suffocate compared to the likes of Coruscant. A few footsteps pressed down into the ground as a Besalisk was becoming familiar with the new location for the New Jedi Order base of operations. The Force had a massive presence here seemingly of the Light-side and Tyron bathed within this.

A light breeze swept through.

No noise of speeders or busy streets.

Peace. At last.

Something Tyron was delighted with and he spotted the Jedi Master sat outside the Temple. The outdoor training grounds looked inviting for those emerging from the Jedi Temple. A gentle and quiet approach taken by Tyron towards Caltin.

"Master Vanagor, nice to see you again. Hope you're well. Are you training?"

Slowly opening his eyes, Caltin looked upward at the Besalisk Padawan. Padawan… good morning. Rolling backward onto his feet, he stood. Always train, your senses, your mind, your body. Training happens simply when you are enjoying the outdoors on a beautiful morning like this. Limbering his legs, his arms and finally his neck, he looked around with a smile.

Too many out there mistake “training” for something that they get out of it. Walk with me. Without really waiting for a response, Caltin started on a walk, no real purpose, more a “stroll”.

Tyron watched the Jedi Master go from a meditation pose to then standing up on both of his feet after stretching his body; limbs and neck. Tipped his head in a brief nod motion over to Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor as the two would embark on a little stroll on Tython.

"Good morning Master Vanagor." Tyron replied as he began walking with the Jedi Master.

The 8-foot tall Besalisk thought on the words coming from the 6'10ft Jedi Master. He did give some wisdom where one shouldn't train to benefit just themselves but to be fit for active duty. Being capable to benefit and serve others around them.

"I don't study and train to benefit myself master. I do it to be capable of supporting others in the Galaxy that we come across."

Even though Caltin was walking off and not giving Tyron a moment or few to reply standing still. The Padawan Learner kept up with the Jedi Master exploring the grounds outside of the Jedi Temple situated on Tython.

The atmosphere was peaceful allowing many sensitive to the Force in sensing the Light-side energy from the Nexus emitting all over and all around through many forms.

Should you train specifically for others, and not yourself at all? He stopped to pull out a couple of “treats” and feed a nearby bird who walked up to him. He continued, It's important to find a balance between training for yourself and for others. Training solely for others can lead to burnout, while training only for yourself may limit your growth and impact.

The bird chirped as if in agreement, and he smiled. Looking around and going back on his stroll before stopping at the waterfall, he pontificated. Should you train solely for others if you cannot prepare yourself? Should you focus solely on yourself and training only to falter on another planet when someone needs you? He then looked up at the Padawan, something he rarely ever has to do to anyone, she shrugged only with his eyebrows.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself, for yourself.

The late teenage Padawan Learner listened to the elder Jedi Master as they walked around the outer grounds from the Jedi Temple. When Caltin said there should be a balanced in learning and training it was understood. Can't lack in one aspect and excel in another greatly. Wise words. Not a surprise since Tyron was in the presence of quite an experienced Jedi Master.

"I see Master. Sorry didn't mean come off narrow-minded. It's in my nature to put others first than concern myself over them."

Tyron smiled as he heard the bird chirp while Caltin was feeding it with treats he pocketed from his robes. Looking down as the Jedi Master spoke more words. Stood by the waterfall as its waters crash down at the bottom; the mouth of the river stream.

"I understand master. Take a little pride in myself.."

Good thing you didn’t, huh? He looked back with a smirk. You said it best… “Take a little pride in myself”. You gave a great answer, Tyron. Astute, thoughtful, and caring are some words to describe your way of thinking. I was not correcting you, I was simply offering another manner of thought.

The bird came back, not necessarily for treats, but to be around. Take this bird here. She got her treats out of me, and now she is just here to soften our stance, and to ease our minds. So, in a way, we’re both “right”. Are we not? He then looked up at the top of the waterfall.

I want to give you a personal assignment if you don’t mind. Something to do on your own, on your own time, whenever you wish. I want you to sit in the waterfall here, at the base, and meditate. What you meditate on is irrelevant. I want you to listen to your surroundings, listen until you’re no longer the loudest thing in your own mind. Awareness begins not with action, but presence. A Guardian does not rush toward danger. He walks toward truth, aware of every tremor in the ground beneath him. Waving for him to follow, Caltin continues to walk around the grounds, as if making his rounds of the place.

You will meet Jedi who look at me and think that I am either “larger than life” or “too uptight to be anything but a grump”. He laughed. They’re probably right on both counts, however I take to the motto of always remembering. We can forgive, but we can never forget. That is at the heart of what being a Guardian truly is.

Tyron listened to Caltin as he replied to what had been said by the young Besalisk; a Padawan Learner still learning but always keeps learning. Now he had realized that the Jedi Master wasn't correcting him per say just giving a different perspective on matters. "I see hmm. I jumped ahead slightly there hah."

He watched the bird fly away briefly from Caltin's hand that provided treats for the animal. It returned bringing indeed a different presence between them. "I'd believe so Master." Tyron replied to the question from Caltin while the bird continued to settle in his hand.

The Padawan Learner then listened to the Jedi Master as they were spectating the waterfall. The flow of its water rushed down and hitting the base, ripples and waves being heard, seen from their perspective. Tyron's attention rose as Caltin had mentioned about a personal assignment; one that'd be done regularly knowing the Besalisk's disciplined mind and routine.
"A Guardian approaches the truth doesn't rush off to danger recklessly. Hmm. Being aware and cautious of the situation and surroundings." He said in believing this was what he took from Caltin's words spoken.

"I'll do this assignment everyday and often Master." Tyron said in having to want an assignment like this become apart of his routine.

Never forget but there is forgiveness to uphold. Tyron thought to himself as he followed and kept up with Caltin as they roam around more of the outer grounds of Tython together.

Stopping mid walk as they reached one of the outer training circles. There was a young looking Jedi, visibly frustrated, angry, he was, or looked to be trying to lift a rock. It was clearly appearing to get to him as others stood and watched. Tell me, without physically reacting to this, what should be done here? No answer is incorrect. He simply stood, arms folded as he watched, no other words spoken until Tyron would give an answer he was happy with.

The young Jedi continued to fail, but incrementally increased in his frustration and anger, the more others watched, the more this seemed to bother him. Then someone laughed.

Tyron had paused in his pacing around the outer grounds of Tython. Managed to come across what Caltin was watching; a group of young Jedi making quite the ruckus as one in particular was attempting to lift a rock. The Besalisk can not only see the visible anger and frustration stemming from the young Jedi with their attempts failing. It can be felt through the Force too.

The Besalisk would rather help a fellow Jedi although sometimes one has to achieve certain goals individually as they cannot always rely on another for support. Assessing the situation before him and looked to Caltin the late teenage Padawan Learner began to speak being considerate, cautious, kind and thoughtful.

"Master, my heart wants to help the young Jedi. Calm them down, aid their mind to become centred. Nobody should stand-by and watch. I heard someone laugh; we stand united, divided we fall." Tyron glanced over to the young Jedi where he saw the anger and frustration coming from the Jedi he was watching.

Out of compassion the Besalisk knew this was wrong to just sit idle and watch one struggle. Tyron respectfully left Caltin's side and approached the young Jedi who was struggling.

"Hey, it's okay friend. I understand it's difficult. How about you and I sit for a moment, clear our heads together hmm?"

Sure sometimes one has to achieve objectives alone but with there being a gathered crowd. Tyron put himself last and the young Jedi struggling first - this is within his nature.

Waiting to see what the young Jedi would do and say. Tyron knelt down on his knees and his hands rested upon his thighs being in a meditation pose. Ready to begin and hopefully help a fellow Jedi progress further in their path.

Caltin let the Padawan speak his mind based on what he was seeing. Everything that Tyron was witnessing based his reaction not only to mention a desire to help and to do so. There was nothing wrong with what he was doing at all.Caltin encouraged Tyron to continue observing and reflecting on his surroundings. He knew that the Padawan's desire to help was rooted in compassion, a vital trait for any Jedi. Caltin believed that nurturing this compassion would help Tyron grow stronger in the Force.

That being said…

… when the Besalisk approached to calm the situation, he would see that the young frustrated one was not as young or as frustrated as he looked. Caltin was not far behind. Padawan Khan, meet one of my most misleading students… and I mean that in appearance. Jedi Knight Yonu Bucket, son of Master Yoni. He conducts this test regularly and we just happened on it. Clapping Bucket on the shoulder.

Make no mistake, Padawan, you reacted as a Jedi should, with one exception. You said it yourself not moments ago. Do not rush off. Right now, Yonu was committing to the test of resilience, one that a Jedi is not supposed to lift the rock, but to test their patience, and resolve in failure. This was also for those watching, so do not feel you were singled out.

As I said, you made the right reaction, following the Force’s call is more often than not, the right one… after all… even the Force makes mistakes sometimes… but it is important to have all of the information first.
Now it was Tyron’s shoulder to get clapped.

We’re Guardians… we’re not Overwatch. Any questions so far?

Tyron looked towards the Jedi Knight where this was all a test. The Besalisk frowned as it seemed to a point he failed the Jedi Master's test. A sigh escaped from his lips. Shaking his head not pleased with his actions by bashing ahead without having all the information. Some situations wouldn't allow time to gather and gain all relevant information to certain scenarios.

Watching Caltin clap Bucket on the shoulder. A former pupil of the Jedi Masters and also a son of another Jedi Master. Mentally, the Besalisk was making notes of reference with the names shared. Now he was gathering and gaining further information on fellow Jedi. It'll no doubt be useful in the future set ahead of him.

"Hmm. I understand Master. Just.. Not all situations would allow us to gain and gather the information. Sometimes we need to act fast as time can be our worst enemy depending on the scenarios before us." Tyron answered in attempt to put a point across to both senior Jedi, ranking above him.

"I'm sorry for failing Master. I don't deserve some.. Aspects." Creeping in the Besalisk's mind was doubt, in himself and in the Force with how Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor explained that the Force can get matters wrong sometimes. Tyron doesn't always rely on it but in failing from his own mindset in seeing the situation and being advised the Force can mislead those that rely on it. It left an impact on him.

Maybe he was better off going to the base of that waterfall. His heart sank with the disappointment and disapproval within himself leaving a sadness about his person. Not able to trust his instincts, his feelings, thoughts nor the Force after this test. In thinking he was doing what Jedi Grandmaster Valery Noble Valery Noble taught to him back on Coruscant. Tyron's sights fell upon the rock that Jedi Knight Yonu Bucket was using in the test. Lost in thought...

Whoah…. Holding up his hands as if to stop the Padawan, Caltin’s eyebrow perked up. The Padawan was astute and was a quick study, he had all of the potential that the Force could offer, the problem is he was living in his own head and letting anyone move in that wanted to.

Tyron… I told you that there were no wrong answers… you failed no one. However, even if you did, you are a Padawan Learner you are not failing me, Bucket, or anyone as long as you are learning, and you my friend are doing so on a pace that will be of legend. Stepping back… ... but you have got to get out of your own head. This doubt you carry… we need to get you through it… so that is what we are going to do on the rest of this walk this morning. Are you up for it? I am… I want you here. Master Valery Noble Valery Noble wants you here, everyone you have met and know wants you here.

Bucket then stepped up and in front of the big man. “If I may… I pose this test on all Padawans walking around the grounds. You were not singled out, neither were the others. You could java just walked, you could have pointed and laughed like some have” He glanced at those who did, and then back. “You acted like a Jedi should react. Yes, you could have stood back and gained a little more information, but that is not always possible. You did not fail this, you did not fail me. You acted with courage and compassion, which are the hallmarks of a true Jedi. Remember, failure is not defined by mistakes but by the refusal to learn from them. You are growing, and that is what matters most.”

Caltin stood back, hands on his hips and when Tyron would look at him, he would simply say You should see the mistakes that I make.

Not “made”... “make”...

Tyron saw the hands of Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor raised up to stop him but Tyron rotated his head and the Besalisk's sights fell on Caltin's figure. Closed his eyes over to listen and didn't rush to respond to the Jedi Master's statement. Letting Caltin's words and Bucket's input radiate in his mind as their statements were registering. Now he was digging deeper, it was time, the doubts were to be confronted.

'C'mon Tyron time to stop having this mind. Don't hold back! You're going to become a Jedi. It won't be easy so c'mon. The masters are saying you didn't fail you acted like a true Jedi! You're kriffin' more than capable! No more self-defeatism! Show everyone what you can do!' This was his inner-conscious motivating him to get out of the rut. A fire was ignited from a spark that was the source within Tyron.

There was a shift emitting from the Padawan Learner. A strong one. It can be felt through the Force and seen in his body language, his facial expression went from sad to determined and focused.

"Apologies to you both Masters. I'm not here to be walking a path of any Legends. I should be journeying down one of my own Masters. I'm not holding back any more." The tone of Tyron's voice was growing firmer and louder.

A light breeze of air swept over Tyron something had been changing in the air. A calling was becoming more clear. A deep inhale performed from the Besalisk Padawan Learner of the New Jedi Order. It helped him relax and unwind from the tension he endured.

It was indeed true Tyron was perhaps advancing too quickly and putting himself out in the open too sudden to realize that time is the best ally to build foundations and progress further. He has nothing to overly concern himself with he has two masters as mentors, teachers with Kaleleon Kaleleon along with Kei Raxis Kei Raxis and now possibly a third in Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor maybe even Yonu Bucket too.

Even learning from Jonyna Si Jonyna Si another Jedi Master and having his introduction into becoming a Jedi with Jedi Grandmaster Valery Noble Valery Noble cannot be forgotten. They believe in him and more will come that'll surprise the Besalisk.

"I'm ready Masters. To continue our walk." Tyron said calmly and more focus within himself.

Going on his walk, Caltin waved for the young Besalisk to follow him around more of the Jedi Temple. He let it remain quiet around a few corners, and a few more areas. It was when they came across a small group meditating together, he asked simply…

What is it that you hope to get out of your training, the most? This is not a test, this is my curiosity.

"To bring hope for others, Master. I want to pass on all my experience, knowledge and training to future generations of Jedi. Like you and other Jedi Knights, Jedi Masters have been doing."

Caltin just smirked, and turned to Tyron with a teasing nudge. Did you read that off a teleprompter? Continuing their walk, into and around the Gnarls, the “not so big this time” man could not stop himself from looking around the grounds. Every time he is here, he cannot help but wonder the stories that this place could tell.

What is more a focus for you, the lightsaber, or the Force?

Tyron continued to follow the Jedi Master through and around the Gnarls. A chuckle and smile came from the Besalisk as Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor asked about his reasonings in becoming a Jedi and a Guardian one to that. Felt the friendly nudge from the Jedi Master.

"What? Do you think I should consider Politics as a career? I'd fall asleep in the Senate Chambers."

The Padawan Learner was watching the Jedi Master closely that eagerness to learn, study and train with another always inspired him. He is still new to being on the planet Tython. There's probably so much to learn from this world itself left him wondering.

"Hmm. I want to say both Master. It'd be rather ignorant to not acknowledge the two aspects as a Jedi. A lightsaber sometimes requires connections to the Force and vice versa no? I don't want to abuse or over-use the Force either allow my blade, my body and mind to be more commonly used to either defuse threats and keep the peace within the Galaxy."

You know that you just gave me your nickname, right? Diplomat. Listening to Tyron’s answer, Caltin stood silent for a moment, letting the wind pass through the ancient Tythonian trees around them. He looked at the Padawan—not with judgment, but with the weight of lived experience etched behind his eyes.
You're not wrong. He said it plainly, with a nod of affirmation.
That’s a better answer than most your age give. Better than some knights, too.

Hopping up onto a rock where he could oversee quite a bit, he went on… A Jedi Guardian isn’t defined by how often they swing a lightsaber. Or how little they use the Force. It’s not about choosing one over the other. It’s about how we wield both—when, and why.

He took a step forward, planting the bottom of his long-hilted saber against the earth. We’re defenders. Shields. Not just for the Order, but for the people—all people. We stand between chaos and those it would devour. It’s all in the name. He smirked.

Some Jedi look to the currents of the Force, to heal, guide, reveal truths. And we respect them. But a Guardian? He tapped his chest with a gloved fist.

We stand where the danger is. Not for glory. Not for vengeance. But because someone has to. We walk into the fire knowing that our strength might mean someone else doesn’t have to suffer. His voice softened—but never lost its weight.

You said something important: you don’t want to abuse the Force. That’s the right instinct. But don’t fear using it either. Power’s not the enemy. Ego is. A Guardian trains their body so their mind stays sharp. They train their blade so their heart remains steady. We fight not because we can…but because sometimes, peace must be protected by those willing to pay the price. He offered a small, rare smile.

Balance isn’t about pretending we’re less than we are. It’s about knowing exactly what we are—and choosing not to let that make us monsters, but choosing to guard against them….

Hopping off the rock, he shrugged. It’s all in the name.

"Diplomat as my nickname? A call-sign. Heh." Tyron paused in his tracks as he listened and watched Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor standing before him thinking the Jedi Master was figuring out a puzzle. The Besalisk felt the wind sweep over him and it brushed against the Tythonian trees and their branches creaked. Spotted Caltin nodding his head to him. Hearing the next set of words surprised Tyron.

"A better answer than some of my age, including some Knights? Huh. I thought majority would be advanced more than myself Master." He meant this with good intentions as Tyron held everyone equal or above himself due to not being long in the Jedi Order.

The Padawan Learner watched the Jedi Master hop onto a rock to to get a better overview of the grounds. Tyron titled his head slightly and listened to the Jedi Master continuing on with his statement about Jedi Guardians. Caltin spoke the words Tyron resonated with.

"Master, I agree with your words. I want to learn and use my body, mind, the Force and a Lightsaber as a Jedi Guardian should." Tyron nods his head out of agreement and respected Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor about how Guardians confront danger itself and being the shields for everyone and everything while facing the dangers out there.

The Besalisk noticed the Jedi Master smiling down to him as he sat on the rock. Mentioned that having an Ego isn't ideal which for Tyron he never felt or thought he ever carries any egos. Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor really had inspired Tyron more as their discussion blossomed further and it was helping a Padawan Learner advance, progress as a Jedi, a Jedi Guardian too.

"I'm right behind you on your believes and words Master. I don't want to possess a fear of balancing out in wielding the Force or a Lightsaber. Nor do believe having an Ego is ideal for a Jedi to concern themselves with. I'm here to be a Shield to defend against the Chaos, the Evil and the Monsters that others cannot defend against or protect themselves from."
