Purple

Hoth. Great. Triam loves the cold. She adores it. Wants to freeze her ass off every single karking day of the week. That was sarcasm.

"Why the hell did I come here? The number of creds aren't even my style." Triam said standing near the beginning of the track, directly next to her race standard issue speeder, in an awesome purple. She liked purple, for no particular reason. Twas why she choose the color. She tapped her clawed finger tips on the top of her helmet, her stupid Republic Trooper helmet. Damn thing, she just wanted her REAL armor to be forged already. Oh well, guess it was time to have some fun then, after all, there couldn't possibly be any other reason for her being here. If this was a televised race, well then that would have been even better! Advertisement! She would have The Wheel and Popo's loony criminal underground to advertise her after she completed her job, but she needed to spread her name over in more than one fashion.

"Let's get this party started already, I can't feel my ass any more." She spoke loudly in no particular direction or at any particular person.

Zaiden stepped out into the brisk air of Hoth, a planet he long considered a second home. Taking in a deep breath, the giant stretched and cracked his neck. Clad in a sleeveless black shirt with baggy jeans, no coat or similar. Leaping high into the air, the man coasted far through the skies to land near his ship.

Beginning maintenance checks, he remained utterly silent. Calculating.

 

[Racket]

Orange

Ships go fast here on Hoth. RAcket's was under his feet at the current moment. Standing looking out over the track, hands on his hips, chest puffed out, right leg slightly forward, and damn he felt like a Bad mofo. A gust of freezing wind whipped across the frozen lake surface slapping him in the face and sending him flying backwards. "FRAcKKKKkkKKKK!!!!!" screaching while flailing in air. Ice hurt on his rear end as he continued to slide backwards another ten feet. Determination in his heart. Fire in his eyes. He got a running start and again tried to jump on the top of the ship. Another blast came, as if Hoth had a personal agenda to keep the rodent from his ship, and slammed him backwards. It had registered and now equaled fun in Racket's mind to continue this process repeatedly four or five times while the wind continued to blow. "HAHAhAhAHHAHAHAHAhAAAhahaHAHHAhaha!!!!"

Wind stopped on the fifth try allowing him to land back on top of his speeder. "Open up you sexy son of," he vanished into the cockpit of his speeder; probably still finishing the sentence. He always had something to say. The control panels were extremely simple. Three gears meant three speeds. He flipped the switch on the left side of steering and felt the engine rev to life while lifting him off the ground. "HAhAHHAHAHAHAAahahHAhA, SsSSSssHhhEeEE'SSSssS AaAAaaa PpPppPPPUuuuRRrRRRRRIIInnnnNNNGGGgg!!!!!!!!"

Red

Sorin walked across the graveled path where the speeders were all lined up. Dressed as warmly as he could muster, he half wondered about the conditions they were to face here, and the obstacles in their paths. But either way, he was going to enjoy this race very much. Mostly also because he wasn't going to be a frozen Popsicle, he hoped. Getting into the speeder, he revved the engines and proceeded to warm them up. He kinda wished he could have bought his own, but the regulations meant they all started with the same kind of speeder. At this point, it would be a matter of skill and reflexes, something Sorin wasn't short off.

The announcement came on loud and clear over the icy depths of the cavern they lay in, waiting for the starting of the race.

"Time to get this started." Sorin eased the gear into place, and let forth the throttle, his speeder zooming forth with the rest in a rush of exhilaration. The ice below zoomed past in a blur with the speeders, and their first area: the Frozen lake. "Here goes." The moment he had some room, he broke off from the others, zooming between the stalagmites with pin point precision, avoiding them as best he could. When he had the chance, he switched to second the moment the engine revved loudly on the high rpms.

Orange


Short bursts of air exhaled through his nostrils. The only sign his body showed of focus. Everything else the little rodent did was as normal as could be. Playing with nobs and flipping switches to see the effects. A certain nob looked interesting. Fingers couldn't control themselves. Click. His seat slammed forward to max position putting his nose into the steering. "AaaaAAAAaAAAaagGGGggggGgggHHHhhhHH!!!!!" Spasms of past times. Scary times seeped into his mind. Cramped times. Racket fought back. Click. Legs kicked hard. Seat shot back again.

"HAhahHAhAhAhAhAhAAA!!!" The gear found his hand; shifting into the first and throttle full. His thrusters obliged the command and shot him forward into the race. Last place. Just. Wouldn't. Do. The icey surface of the lake was his main focus point but his mind was somewhere else entirely. The customary shaking and movement from the speeder soothed his soul like the fix he could never scratch. The secrets it told were few and far between. Thought he heard something..... Throttle Me HARDER! Racket wasn't one to question. Hand slammed down on the shifter. Speeder felt the strong demand and shifted hard into second just as the stalagmites came into view. His speed lept for a moment. It was what he had wanted. He banked hard to the left with a jerk of his arm. Plan was simple. Hit the Fracker in front. The maneuver brought the right side of his speeder within inches of the stalagmite but this was a game of inches. The steering became stiff and harder to control but it was necessary. Every second counted. Just as soon as he had slammed to the left his arm was pulling again to the right. He had used his higher speed to put him into the sharp turn with enough power to gain speed from the momentum coming out of the turn. The thrusters pushed into second as smoothly as if he had finished through first gear. Rounding the stalagmite he could feel his weight being pulled hard but he fought pushing into the turn with everything he had. The red speeder that had started in front of him came into view out of his right window, now beside him, and was no more than five feet from Rackets speeder which he had no intention of avoiding the collision course he was on. Racket knew his speed was greater with the momentum he had built from the turn and hitting second early. Besides, slamming into the other racer was a good way to say hello. Eyes grew large. "EeeExxXCcUSSSee yYYYoOOuUu!!!!! HAhaHAhAhAhAA!!!"

Purple

As the announcement for the twenty second before launched, Triam had already hopped into her seat and closed the hatch. She familiarized herself with the fairly simple controls, and did her best to remember how to drive, then promptly decided to kark it and just stick her foot through the floor and turn the wheel when there was bend in the road. She gripped the controls, one hand mechanical, and the other clawed with Phantom Fingers. Perhaps she could sell a set to someone after she won the race. She started in front of everyone, and she decided she honestly did not like that very much. Not very much thrill if she smokes everyone. But winning was winning, as long as she stayed ahead that was perfectly fine to her. As soon the "go" signal was given, BOOM, first gear full of revs. Zoom she went. She only wished the top was down so she could use a toy or two, but unfortunately she'd probably freeze her face into a solid brick of ice before she could do anything the moment she pounded the gas pedal.

"Zoom, zoom, zoom." She hummed a bit, before switching gears.

[Sarah Frostlight]

Sarah landed her ship, near the other ships for the contestants and audience, and after doublechecking the environmental sensors, she walked down the ramp and took a cautious sniff of the air. Hmm nice balmy day she thought it feels like its only 20 below. She registered, and went to examine the Blue speeder, after she noted the load limit note on the side of the speeder she walked back to her ship muttering to herself. When she came back down the ramp after securing the ship, She was dressed in shorts, and wearing a gunbelt, with a blaster pistol, 4 clips, and a Vibro-Knife and carrying a light crash helmet that left her ears free to move. Sarah had read up on the Hoth fauna and thought she could take a Wampa if she had to but the weapons were insurance.
Sarah got into the Blue Speeder and started it up. When the start was announced she revved the speeder and took off, the repulsors seemed to whine in complaint, but it came up to speed, as she kept revving it up faster and faster, she noticed it was starting to top out in firs and slapped it into second,

[Racket]

DIRECT HIT!!! The speeders collided sending the red guy beside him off his course and leveling the trajectory he was currently going on. Opening wide on the throttle. Butt pressure stronger against the seat. Huge ice structures were zipping past. SNow and air hit the sky. The spewage thanks to the speeder in front of his own. PErfect conditions. Pulling the steering lined him up directly behind the purple speeder in front of his own. RUmbling and shaking became less all around him. Air being cut by the speeder in front of his own made him faster. Thrusters revd hard right before Racket slammed into third. Less air resistence made the transition of gaining the extra speed quicker. Speeders nose crept closer and closer to the purple. This wasn't the moment. A few more seconds and he'd have the higher speed and ability to pass. Fingers tightened on the steering. "MOVEEeeEEEEE PpPLllllLEEAaAASsEEE!!!!!!!"

Sorin was just riding along, evading what he saw before him, now in second gear, when this giant yellow thing came out of freaking nowhere! "What the-!" Too late, the yellow speeder hit, sending him off course as he steered the speeder as best he could. 'Damn little piece of----!' He took control in the last second, maneuvering back on the path he wanted while avoiding a big giant piece of ice, zipping past as fast as he could, switching to third gear to go as fast as possible this time. 'That was too close for comfort...' He knew he lost distance he needed...this wasn't going to be easy.

As Sarah started to get into the groove, still accelerating she swerved slightly back and forth getting a feel for the handling, and accidently went off a small about 3 to 4 meter cliff, and noticed there was a cavern. Sarah did notice that she seemed to get a little bit of acceleration from the drop, and quickly began navigating between the pillars heading towards the exit of the cavern, weaving between the pillars, and slapping the shifter as the speeder started to top out, as Sarah glanced around she wondered where everyone else was .....@[member="Sorin Vanado"]@[member="Racket"] @[member="Triam Akovin"] @A'donari Cinn @[member="Penumbra"]

Purple

From what view should could gain of the track behind her, it was pretty chaotic. There was a crazy orange racer who just bashed the red nearly off course. Blue seemed passive enough, and barely visible in this tundra terrain of swirling white winds. She wasn't too visible the more because of their distance, being dozens of yards behind first place... Triam. What was more worrying however was the raging lunatic 10 yards behind her. He was either a utter dumb ass or an incredibly good driver... or a really terrible one. She couldn't tell and strangely, could have been a combination of all those categories. Orange was a threat. Threats had to be eliminated, but she needed to maintain speed or she would be the hare to the turtle of other racers behind them. She decided that for now until conditions changed it was simply best to stay out of the way, get as far ahead as possible. She'd keep a close eye on him, the moment he started to close that distance, she'd set up for a bounce off him. If there was a corner coming up, that would be the most opportune time to do so. Once she hit the max on 2nd she switched to 3rd.

Total yardage: 500 yrds

 

[Racket]

Orange
A mountain began to come into view in the distance above the frozen lake Racket was currently dealing with. FIngers itched on the steering. Thrusters on all out. His eyes narrowed still waiting for the right moment to take the leading position. Out Front. Out Front. Out Front. thought repeating through his Fracked little head. "GgggGGGaaAAAAAAAhhhHHHhh I hATe PuRPlE SMoOthIes!!!!!!!" Screams of other types filled the cockpit. Some not so nice. Wind still being dispersed from the speeder out front helped him to begin the catching portion of taking the lead.

Sarah accelerated through the cavern picking what seemed to be the best path, and was quickly approaching the tunnel mouth where she swerved onto the main path, Sarah started heading for the mountain path, when she noticed that somehow she had actually gotten a bit ahead of the other racers, quickly taking advantage, she headed down the center of the path, trying to keep the lead as long as possible.
summary 407 yards, plus 300 yards minus 25 for obstacles, -10 loading (total 265 this round) 672 yards

Okay focus. The little guy was getting close with another racer close behind... the not close enough to make a difference right now. In a moment, she would be 100 yrds away from the Mountain, and she needed to reduce the threat of her opponent directly behind her. Ramming in to him would cost a few yards, but it would also cost him much more. There was a stalagmite structure up ahead though that would prove difficult to avoid, thus she decided if she was going to hit him at any time she'd do it now, before she had to deal with it. As the rodent began to near her, she await her chance before finally ramming into him and quickly there after turning away from the collision, aiming her into a section that would get her around the stalagmites in the next 100 yrds. The rebound's momentum though wouldn't be enough to make avoiding them any easier however. She gripped her controls tightly as she prepared for some furious driving.

[Racket]

ORANGE

TAps and bumps were all but out of the thrusters systems. Bad boys were purring and shooting him closerer and closerer to the purp. 3 2 1 .... Steering swung out left. Momentum built up took him out beside the speeder. Almost past... SMASH Violent shaking filled the cockpit while RAcket's body jostled every which way. "AAaAaAarggGgGghHhHhH!!!!! tTTHhHHHHEeEEEE fFfRfRrAAAAaCcCKckkcK!!!?!??!??!" Eyes stayed on the track. Stalagamite no less than twenty five feet in the distance in his way. The thing was big but had a slender nature to it higher up. Steering twitched while control was fought for.​

15 feet​

QUick flip of the switch controlling power to ships left gravitational stabilizer dropped the left bottom instantly. Arms yanked to chest. Altitude gained while the cabin flipped in the air. Bottom of the Speeder narrowly avoided the tall stack of death. Racket lost site of the STalagmite for a split second. Hands shoved as hard as he could on the steering before flipping the switch again. The result was his speeder aimed towards the ground while finishing it's spin. Stabilizers caught on the icey shelf though ground had been lost again. Hand slapped thrusters back into second to keep in stride. Purp didn't even know what he had waiting for her.​

Entrance to mountain track was right in front of him. See if she'd make it down.​
