Tillian Family Enterprises Corporate Headquarters

The headquarters for the Tillian Family Enterprises was as bustling as usual, with captains, crew-members, engineers, and mechanics hurrying about their business. Droids trundled or clomped through the hallways according to their model of design. Aeshi took a deep breath as she pushed open the front doors of the old hotel-turned-office. Multiple wings sprawled out in all directions and through many stories up to the roof, with great gables lining the roof, and glass structures added to the roof for observatories, a sundeck, and a broad patio for employees to look out across the city and the nearby sea. Her worn spacer's boots echoed on the marble floor as she passed the greeting counter into the maze of corridors behind.

There was a new batch of people coming in to join the company. Most of them weren't family, which wasn't unusual, per se, but was hardly usual. Most of the employees were still at least somewhat connected to the family. But there were advantages to bringing in new blood. New ideas, new cultures, new ways of thinking. As long as they weren't counter to the company and family's values, it wouldn't be an issue. They'd already been certified and had their paperwork finished, with ships assigned to them, or brought with them.

She pushed through another door into the back of the building, where durasteel platforms had been built to extend over the cliffs that dropped down into the ocean below. A series of warehouses lined the edge of the platforms, sheltering the landing platform from the endless wind and sea-spray that whipped up from the waves below. A handful of freighters were parked there, all painted the gold and blue scheme of the company colors, with the logo painted on the side of the hulls.

The new employees were supposed to have been escorted out here to meet with her and the heart of the company where they started out. Her cousin Ardon would be there as well to help with the introductions and getting them acquainted with the company business and assigning some of the first cargoes they'd be taking as probationary runs. Unless they had experience, they wouldn't be getting much company money to do independent trading with. They could use their own, of course. As they proved themselves reliable and skilled, then they'd be trusted with more company funds.

And if they absconded? Well, that was why they hired people like the Mandalorian who would be joining them. Jerrick Shado or something. To reclaim the stolen funds and make sure the perpetrator knew to never even think about that again. Or pirates. Anything like that.

She slowed to a stop near the center of the main landing platform network and scanned the crowds for the people she was looking for.

Ardon held a datapad on hand running over the routes and information it had on the people available. Some of them were notes done by him personally. That made the datapad a bit less simple to read. The data it had wasn't so much in galactic basic as it was in raw data and numbers as he'd hooked his cybernetics up to it wirelessly before hand, allowing him to transfer information back and forth easily, the singular advantage that they gave him.

He was wearing a repainted set of cirgun-plate-body-armor, and had a h-t-e-heavy-blaster-pistol on either side. But his helmet was hanging from a strap on his back and he was leaning against a crate pretty casually. He was certainly not the most intimidating person in the room and he wasn't supposed to be. Actually, Ardon was here to help coordinate the people involved. That was not necessarily the easiest job normally for him. It was partly why he also had a larger holoprojector he could use to give people a more clear image of the information.

Currently the project held up a list of ships and names, showing who was assigned to which if they didn't have their own ship they were using. And if asked to elaborate he would do his best to clarify the details of actual ownership and use. Additionally he had specific lists of the cargo that each person would be assigned and where that was going to be going.

He started walking among them for now. Looking up and seeing that Aeshi Tillian Aeshi Tillian was present now, he smiled and gave a quick wave to the cousin.

Ar'tal Ktruok Ar'tal Ktruok commented about why he got the offer. "You = concerned?" he inquired raising an eyebrow and half for a moment. This one did have his own ship. Probably didn't want to have to use a company ship necessarily. This one was also quite large which was especially clear as Ardon looked up at his face before getting ready to move on to see just who else was here. "You+us = possible profit. Solution = simple."

Having caught a ride with one of company freighters, the crew and Jerrick had already landed, waiting for the rest to show up. The Mandalorian was already helping unload whatever it was they had fetched while picking him up. The whole time, Jerrick had probably stopped talking for a singular moment to use the restroom. But now he was quiet. Jerrick actually hadn't been the one write his resume to the Tillian family otherwise he probably never would have been hired. It wasn't because he wasn't good at his job, oh no, it was more so his mouth, and his humor. His black armor contrasted with the surrounding area, blues and golds bounced of the gloss in a beautiful orchestra of colors. Already, information was pouring into his HUD about the Tillians, he hadn't done his research, didn't care to. A job was a job, but something about these people spoke to him, on a personal level.

Good doers, well good enough. Money in the bank, lots of resources. Associated with the Outer Alliance, and the Rift Alliance. Probably allies with the Galactic Alliance...

"
So many damn alliances, man! There's like twenty of them now all claiming the same thing!" Jerrick stated out loud has he patted the back one of the crew members who was probably only barely paying him any attention. "Alright, I think Ima head out, look for the boss. Take care boys, thanks for the ride."

And with that, Jerrick was out in the crowd, moving with purpose, and with keen eyes. He was looking for a woman with an authoritative figure among the rest. He wasn't sure what that meant, but he was certain he'd find out sooner or later.

Ardon looked back over his shoulder at Ar'tal Ktruok Ar'tal Ktruok at the droid comment. "Ardon = suffered injury. Ardon = required cybernetic implant. Cybernetic implant = inferior design." unfortunately that was the way of life. He almost felt slightly better that the comment came from...a massive four armed insect creature. But at the same time the fact that a giant four armed insect creature felt the need to point it out was...not great. He wasn't going to bring that up right now though. He didn't think getting into a potential argument with Ar'tal was the greatest of ideas. Even if Ar'tal was perfectly patient it just wasn't worth it.

He heard Jerrick Shado looking for 'the boss.' "He = could be patient." he said quietly, shaking his head and just watching to see where the mandalorian went. He wasn't going to bother stopping him. There was no real reason right now. He'd just end up wasting time and the mandalorian would figure it out on his own.

The HQ of the Tillian Family Enterprises. Never in Sunam's wildest dreams did he expect to be hired by such a company. However that didn't put a damper into his mood. In fact Sunam was quite thrilled as he wore a leather jacket with a long sleeved grey shirt underneath it. Even his pants and boots were made out of leather that offer some protection. Holstered onto his left side was an LL-30 Nerfboy Special. One of the most basic and cheap blasters.

As he stepped off from one of the transport ships that gave him a ride to the headquarters. Perhaps it was due to his small size, but everything looked giant to him! Even a crate was bigger than him. As his icy blue eyes looked upon the crowd as every human or equivalent size creature had a good two feet over Sunam. He might as well be a child in comparison to them.

"Bugger me, if I had known this was gonna be a party I would have brought the rum. Oh well, excuse me, coming through. Nice hat by the way." Sunam began to weave through the crowd as he used his voice to let people know he's going around them. He even threw a compliment at one guy Jerrick Shado, but really the guy was decked in armor. Truthfully Sunam would not want to get into a tussle with that guy. The Phantom knew that he was supposed to meet the Boss Lady, the one who runs the show around here. While many came to this job for credits, Sunam came here to score a ship. Legally of course. Frankly he was tired of having to pester every captain to let him board to go where they were going. Or even the couple of times he snuck aboard as a stowaway. Those memories brought a hearty chuckle as he found amusement in people's confusion.

His eye was focused on the freighters for some time as he could picture any one of them being his own. However, Sunam knew that what he wanted was something that could fly fast and could carry a bit of cargo. That being said, Sunam understood having a gun or three would be beneficial to ward off pirates. That was always the risk unfortunately when it comes to flying through space.

Ardon's words were something Ar'tal could get behind. "Sorry about that. I'm partially blind myself." He said apologetically.

There were two other employees Ar'tal had yet to meet. Some guy called 'The Phantom' and some ship captain. After setting down the last crate, Ar'tal just sat down and started waiting for the boss to show up.

Arryn Jhanson had arrived, albeit a little later than the others and not overly trusting of the escort party that had guided him to the locale for their likely orientation yet all the same, there he was. He'd left the NOMAD docked upon one of the landing pads reserved for Company Employees, of which he wasn't currently one of them yet it had been the closest and convenient place to set down, so he'd done so.

Turning to glance behind him as his entourage seemed satisfied the man had been brought to the right place, they seemed ready to move on to whatever other business they had to tend to while Ajay was left to glance back to those nearby. This Tillian Enterprise had been looking for pilots and those who were good with their hands, the job offer seemed to tick off all the right boxes and with nothing going for him anymore since the Outer Planets Alliance had let him go, well...Beggar's couldn't be choosers, and Ajay figured he'd see whether the Company was worth it's salt.

His attire was far from that of a professional getup, adorning an old leather vest with a scruffy hooded sweatshirt underneath, baggy jeans and black boots. Upon his hands he wore several rings depicting various sigils, while his scruffy hair had been brushed back and flattened by his cap worn backwards. His vest bore a variety of patches as well, and to those experienced with the more outlaw types, they might recognize or be familiar with some of their origins and meanings.

Aeshi slipped a datapad out of her utility belt and transferred the information into it from the datachips. She could see the rest of them now, with the large alien being the one that stuck out the most from the predominantly human and near-human demographics. That was good. They needed more aliens in the mix. And she could see her cousin already interacting with the bulk of them. Good. That was helpful.

She changed course to where they had been helping with various unloadings or waiting for her to arrive and came up to them, adjusting the collar of her spacer's coat to keep out some of the wind that snuck past the protective barrier of warehouses. And now she could see the smaller alien as well. Also excellent.

"Nice to see you all!" Aeshi called out to the group. "I'm Captain Aeshi Tillian, and you've met my cousin Ardon Tillian already. We're all glad you wanted to join us and accepted our offer."

She came to a stop and gave them all a looking over, hands resting lightly on her holsters, but idly rather than threateningly. "We've got ships up and ready, as well as more cargo than we have hold-space, for those who have your own ships."

The datapad whirred to life as she examined it carefully. "Alright. Let's get down to business. For those with ships, we have about twelve thousand metric tons of raw ore to be transported to Sullust within the next three days."

She ticked that off her checklist. "One of you with your own ship able to haul part of, if not all, and with the speed to be there? If so, we'll start loading while I cover the rest of the business side of things. All of it was in your contract, but wanted to reiterate so we're all clear." Another pause. "For those captaining company ships, we have one carrying an extra shipment of grain and freeze-dried seafood to Coruscant. Long haul run, but pretty boring. Mostly hyperlanes. Also we have a shipment of electronics to Terminus and another two shipments of ore to Bespin with a return contract for high-grade tibanna gas."

A notification popped up and she read it. "Jerrick Shado, if possible, we'd want you on that return shipment since it's a high-value target for pirates and the like, with lots of chaotic space between the two. Will likely need some extra firepower, just to be safe. Any questions on cargo or routes yet?"

leaving it open for y'all to do what sounds the most interesting, and if you want to chat more easily with the other folks, hit up the Rimward Trade League Discord. Should be able to find it via my signature. [/ooc]

Ardon nodded towards Ar'tal Ktruok Ar'tal Ktruok gratefully, "Ardon = grateful." he said trying to confirm that he wasn't offended, and appreciative that Ar'tal apologized. This was going to be a good one to work with he thought, he might have been a bit blunt, but it was reasonable to ask a question like that and he'd even apologized on it. Plenty didn't do that.

More were coming around to things. Sunam a small being but one who seemed to at least make enough noise to get people to let him pass. Didn't have many options but that at that size. Sunam's need for a fast ship wouldn't be hard. Tillian Family enterprises had a bit of a range of options since it was easier to refurbish an old model than buy the newest, and that included Coriellian models who were known for their light freighters.

Arryn Jhanson was another that came, he had his own ship, made life easier long as he planned to use it. Not much else that Ardon had to think on here. He really didn't care about what the man chose to wear, here or elsewhere. This wasn't a military operation or some posh service, so what did it matter if he didn't have a uniform.

Aeshi Tillian Aeshi Tillian called out to them, addressing everyone giving them all an overview of the operation that was being run right now. He nodded as she put his name up. He was trying to help, best as he could anyway. She also mentioned Jerrick Shado directly, looked like that was a dangerous run. Made sense a mando would be put on something like that.

Ardon looked at his datapad in thought. Whatever cargo was left he'd probably pick from one of them for his own ship. First it was everyone else that needed to get situated and if he could he'd help them with that. He'd figure out anything else as it came.

Arryn raised his hand in silent agreement, volunteering himself for the job. If no one else had any objections, the Nomad was built for the bigger jobs with four individually massive crates that attached to either side of the Heavy Cargo Freighter. Whether or not she looked like much, she sure as chit had guts and the drive to punch it in a timely fashion. The man had no issues working under someone else's name, providing he had his freedom for each haul and the credits were worth the risk.

Turning to glance from Aeshi Tillian Aeshi Tillian , across to Ardon Ardon , Arryn gave the man a half way nod, lifting his head in acknowledgement. If they didn't already have some sort of file on him through the holonet database, then having inspected his ship upon arrival would've assured them the freighter was space-worthy.

It wouldn't be an overly difficult run providing that the border to Confederate Space wouldn't hold them up any. Given their recent political changes and new policies coming in regarding outside traders, the run would require a little bit of finesse, but that only made the endeavor that much more exciting for the man. While he wasn't one of the more experienced smugglers the Galaxy had known, Ajay did enjoy the rush of living life on the edge.

Of course, this wasn't something he needed to inform his employers of until after he'd arrived on Sullust and payment was safely in-hand.

Aside from the people glancing down to avoid Sunam, there weren't many people who paid him any mind. Not to his knowledge at any rate. Fortunately for him, the bossy lady made herself known by starting her own speech. By the Force, how Sunam hated the fact that he’s so short, or rather these people appeared to be giants compared to him. So it left him with no choice except to move up to the front. Sure he contacted them via hologram terminal, but Sunam often likes conversation in person.

While he doesn’t own any ship of his own, Sunam was granted access to a company owned freighter. That being known, Sunam knew that he would have to stick to the trade routes no matter what, but survival instincts told the Asa’nyx that he probably could make a detour to escape from pirates and the like. He’d hope that no such event happened for only tragedy and unfortunate circumstances would occur from there. That would also leave a bad start for the company’s sake, but for the time being Sunam casted those thoughts from his mind.

Captain Aeshi listed off the number of routes for both those who already owned a ship and those who will be using the company’s ships. Coruscant wasn’t something Sunam was looking forward to. Not that he holds any bad blood in that planet or the sector. He just felt more at home with something that wasn’t consumed by machinery if rumors held any merit. A shipment to Terminus sounded interesting to the small creature. Not including the legends Terminus held, there was one particular type of ship from that place. The Terminus-class Destroyer as it were. Never in his wildest dreams did Sunam wanted to pilot that beast, but visiting Terminus sounded pleasant even if it was for business.

The third one smelled like a high ticket order with the return contract. He could only imagine how many people, ambitious ones like himself, wanted to take a shot at that job. When Aeshin called for any questions on the routes or cargo, Sunam raised an arm with a smile on his face and humor sparkling from his eyes.

“Can I take the route to Bespin?” If there was anything this modern universe taught Sunam, it would be the drive to take opportunities when it presents itself. Almost like how the Force would sometimes extend an olive branch to help those in need. Sunam’s long ears were nearly lowered along his copper colored hair as there was some ungodly squealing sound nearby. It was rather faint for the people there, but Sunam’s ears were sensitive to sound unfortunately. Still Sunam wasn’t going to let that ruin his mood or deter him from the job.

Already, as they were speaking, Aeshi was plugging in names and ship registries to match the captains, their routes, and the assigned cargos, with appropriate tracking numbers and arranging for an updated insurance quote. She was itching to be on the move again, though. She'd been doing family business for the past months and it was starting to feel claustrophobic. Landlocked, even.

She itched to be back on her own, once it was up and flying, and traveling the space lanes on her schedule and as she wanted. It helped that they were bringing on hired help with these new captains. That would free up some of the busy routes and give her a chance to go back into her own business. She'd been tracking markets and had a hunch weapons would be of high value along the GA-NIO border. Not that she was insider trading, keeping tabs on the Underground and fledgling resistance movements, but war was brewing and those who resisted tyranny would need every bit of firepower they could field. She'd lost her hands to fighting unprepared against imperialists. No need for anyone else to have the same thing happen.

"Captain Sunam," Aeshi said, looking up from the datapad, in a formal, serious voice. "You have been charged with the care and keeping of this ship, its crew, and her cargo. In all things, you must ensure their well-being and safety. Do you accept this charge?"

She would wait for the answer before moving on. "Captain Jhanson, since it's your ship, we have no need to formally commission you as a captain." She lbit back a laugh. "We will need you to sign for the insurance company, however." With that, she ran through her notes and assessed what she could, double checking it against her memory. She couldn't think of anything she might have forgotten.

Then it hit her and she shook her head ruefully. Of course. "As captains flying the Tillian Family Enterprises banner, you are authorized to offer, negotiate, and sign contracts that you and your assigned ship are capable of filling, as long as it does not conflict with pre-existing contractual agreements, or involve undue risk, as that requires executives and insurance agents to sign off on. Any hold space not engaged for contractual obligations can be filled with cargo of your own, either with company funds, gaining you a thirty percent commission on the profit, or your own money, with the company getting a ten percent slice to cover fuel and ship uses. Any questions?"

The opportunity to make money was vital to a Spacer. His willingness to accept certain goods was possibly more integral. For Alkor, he already despised certain Galactic Bylaws centered around what could and could not be moved freely as they stifled the market and contributed to monopolies. Bacta, for instance, was largely inhibited due to Thyferra's stranglehold on the medical goods industry, and doubly so by Confederate regulations. There were people dying in the Outer Rim who couldn't get the miracle treatment.

Alkor was a bit less sympathetic to their plight admittedly than he was perturbed that he couldn't cash out of that goldmine. All his life he never worried about what he could afford because someone footed the bill in exchange for his services. Now, no one was paying him unless he did honest... well, mostly honest, work. It wasn't so much humbling as it was a lesson in how the rest of the Galaxy lived.

It also made him even love dictators, Kings, Emperors, Vicelords and their ilk, even less.

So, with all of his gripes laid out before him, he made his way to Yumfla after getting in contact with the Tillian Family. They didn't care much about his background, which was a godsend. They were more interested in his ability to get the work done. And if there was anything Alkor knew how to do, it was fly. He was born Corellian, after all.

He entered the room as a woman was briefing several other people on jobs and what they were allowed to do on behalf of the company. He stuck close to the doorway, haunting the fringes of the room like a shadow. Despite that, he listened carefully: his experience had taught him that listening, waiting, and patience were important for everything.

Something prickled along the back of her neck. Not just instinct. The Force. Far more than she was expecting from anyone in the family, save for any of the ones fully committed to the Jensaarai. No, this was quite a powerful Force user in the area. She stopped as she spoke and turned back around to see the newcomer.

The name escaped her for a moment, "Alkor Centaris, isn't it?" She turned to face him and jerked her chin to invite him into the fuller gathering. "Heard a lot about you across various... organizations. I hear you can get the work done when it comes to moving cargo anywhere it needs to go."

She grinned fiercely. "I suspect you're not looking for routine cargo runs?"

He stepped in further upon invitation, brushing off his duster. "Much obliged, ma'am," he said with a kindly smile. "I hope you didn't hear nothing bad," he added, though he knew better.

Nobody who ever heard of Alkor Centaris ever heard anything 'good.'

"Yeah, I've been around and I know a few ways to move more freely about the Galaxy. And I know some people who can make things easier when that gets tough."

Alkor joined the group and strayed toward the middle of it, not trying to stand out any more than he had to in order to speak. "I'll take whatever you wanna throw my way. 'Course, I do like a little excitement."

It was a fair charge in his opinion. Ships were never cheap as far as Sunam came to understand. Besides, doing jobs and maintaining the ship plus cargo was part of the deal. A deal that Sunam had no intention of shrinking from. With a smile on his face, the Phantom spoke in answer to her question of formality.

"Aye Captain Aeshi. It is the least that I can do." Truly it was a blessing in the Force that Sunam was graced with not only a job. But a job that would allow him to keep his own ship. A ship that Sunam sought to be his base of operations and surely not any random detonator making. Well, the last part would be a lie if he told it, but that was information people were best not knowing.

Aeshi raised knowing eyebrows at Alkor's comments about not hearing anything bad. That was the luck of the business mostly. And as far she could remember, she hadn't. So nothing to worry either of them there. She nodded as he spoke. That was excellent. They needed more experienced captains capable of going the places where governments may not want them to go. They had some, especially the more experienced, independent types of the family, but they needed to branch out beyond that as well.

"Excellent, Captain Sunam," Aeshi said, grinning, and holding out her hand. "I now commission you as a Captain in the Tillian Family Enterprises trade-fleet, and by extension, the Rimward Merchant-Marine. You are entitled to all rights, privileges, and perks thereof, as long as all duties and responsibilities are completely fulfilled." She stepped back and saluted, holding her right hand flat a few inches away from her heart. "Welcome aboard, Captain. I now transfer the responsibilities for loading and preparation to you, since she's your ship."

She pulled a datachip from her jacket and handed it over. "Compatible with all datapads, high encryption. Only gives you access to information regarding the company's main routes and confidential information. Keep it safe. Let the deck-hands know what you need for loading and anything else you're thinking of shipping with you on this route."

With that taken care of, she assessed the rest, before pulling out chips for each of them. "I have the same for all other Captains, and Jerrick, I have one specifically for troubleshooter with more... delicate information, per chance. Needless to say, any breaches will be prosecuted fully for violation of the NDA built into your contracts. But when we hired you, discretion was one of the biggest reasons."

She handed out the chips and stepped closer to Alkor, lowering her voice. "We may have something for your expertise. A shipment of... hardware and equipment for an opposition movement in Eternal Empire space. Got several more in the process of the same nature." As she finished she stepped past him to inspect a cargo container on the deck, like that was why she had been moving. A quick look at the label and she nodded, turning back. "So, questions? Otherwise, we've got work to do."

Captain Aeshi's response was to be expected, yet that didn't make it less appealing as Sunam was officially one of them now. It was good to have charisma and the ability to bolster everyone's spirits. It was a leader characteristic after all, one Sunam hoped he'd never have to lead such a large company. Granted he's certain after a couple of years doing this line of work he could probably tackle the position then. Problem was Asa'nyx mature faster than humans can. So time was a bit different to Sunam than it was to other species when it came to distinguishing long and short time. Even if it is a minor difference.

Sunam maintained his grin as he shook hands with Captain Aeshi, and proceeded to nod his head in acknowledgement of the responsibilities that came with this job and for owning a ship. Sunam can't even remember someone willing to lend a ship in exchange for working in their name. That was until Sunam worked enough to pay off the price for his now owned ship. Sunam accepted the chip as he listened to Aeshi's instructions regarding the chip. It was a company sensitive issue not to let the chip fall into the wrong hands. It also meant that the routes were secured and less prone to be ambushed by pirates.

"Understood captain." With that being said, Sunam stayed to listen to the rest of the conversation Aeshi had with the rest of the gathered crew. Once it was clear that they were being dismissed with the Captain's parting question.

"No questions from me captain." Afterwards, the small Asa'nyx turned towards the deckhand near his most recently obtained Tannhauser-Class freighter. The small creature may be just so, but the Phantom's voice carried through the area in a clear tone despite his size. He gave the deckhand instruction of what to get, and Sunam made sure to get into his freighter as he ensured that there was enough space for the shipment. It was a standard Tannhauser of course, so there wasn't much of an issue in getting the freight loaded into the ship.

After Sunam gave the deckhand his thanks, the Asa'nyx hopped into his chair in the cockpit as he inserted the chip into the computer. From the chip, the Asa'nyx picked the course to Bespin. Once it was set-up, the loading ramps were pulled into the freighter as the engines whined to life. In a short moment, the craft ascended to the air as it turned its nose at angle to the sky. With a careful throttle of the engines, it howled as the Tannhaussen soared through the air. Sunam may not be some pilot with fancy flying, but he was okay with that. He was no ace pilot nor did the Asa’nyx expect to be involved in space combat.
