ANARA!

Eyes of obsidian shot open, a sharp inhale of breath shattering the silence of the dark room. Slowly, like receding ink, the black slipped from her gaze to leave behind stunning amber orbs. Her eyes caught the dim light of her clock and shone momentarily as the petite woman threw the blankets from her form.

The minutes slipped by and eventually she rose, bare feet silently padding across the cool stone floor as she headed for the doors across from her bed. Throwing them open a rush of wind tore into her room, taking the skirt of her night gown and making it dance about her thighs. The warm night air filled her lungs as the voices inside her mind hissed, their words indecipherable. Slipping from her room she moved onto the small patio beyond the doors and then out onto the sand. The sand was still warm beneath her bare feet as she moved away from her small cottage, the crash of the ocean calling her forth.

Once at the water's edge she allowed it to wash over her feet, the sand slipping away beneath her. Molten orbs stared out across the dark sea, the light of the heavens above lost in her gaze as she reflected on her dreams. They were vivid each and every night, but slowly they were seeming less like vivid dreams and more like something else....something real.

While the dreams slowly became more real, something all too real would find her ears as the soft sound of whistling would sound off to her right. The source was still far off, walking along the shore with a violin case in one hand and a trenchcoat keeping him warm during the night. Very little else could be seen as he was still a large distance away and he seemed to be using an old torch with flames to see. But of course the range at which Anara was would still be too far for him to see in the night with his eyes adjusted to the light of the flame, so he had no idea she was out there. Instead he just walked, looking for a good place to relax and play while he did. His strides wide and relaxed while he whistled.

It really was a moment of coincidence, fate, luck, voodoo, the force. What ever. Point is he had no idea anyone even lived out here on this planet and as he walked he had no idea the said person was one who was connected to a very old name that he knew from his early years as a mercenary. But of course, time passes... 8 years to be exact, quite a while... or was it more than that. Heck he didn't even know at this point and he probably would have wondered how long if he even knew the information in the first place would come up. For now though, Anara had the sight of him and he not of her, still more than twenty meters out.

Just beneath the surface of those hissing voices was a melody, hidden and as dark as her festering soul. It called to her as sweetly as any lover might, full of dark promises that even the voices seemed eager for. A delicate foot moved against the wet sand as Anara took a step that placed her further in the surf. Water foamed and tugged at her calves, the draw of the water as strong as that dark melody she could barely hear.

Then, as quickly as it had come the melody was whisked away and in its place an all to real whistle. For a breath she thought it was the wind whipping across the sand and rocks nearby, but her keen ears instantly knew better. For the first time since exiting her small cottage Anara tore her gaze from the glittering horizon and spotted the approaching fire light.

Traveling along the ocean's edge with a torch seemed almost pointless as the wind tore at the flames incessantly, but the fire burned brightly and reflected in her gaze as she watched the figure approach. It was uncommon for anyone to travel her stretch of the beach, but stranger things had happened she supposed. Curiosity kept her where she was as did the confidence in knowing that she was in no danger even though her saber lay within her home. The voices of hundreds muttered along with her own musings, immediately demanding that she extinguish the approaching flames, but Anara wanted to see who carried the torch as the beings whistling was ultimately what she was drawn to.

As he would get closer his features and a clearer picture of what he looked like began to appear. The torch didn't exist, the flame as it whipped about was resting above his hand as he seemed to be controlling it, his force aura being a dark one yet he seemed to bear very few signs of corruption. Only his amber colored eyes which held a faint glow showed any corruption. On his back seemed to be the hilt of a sword and his body was indeed swallowed up by a trenchcoat. HIs hair was cut short, dark brown in color and his eyes rimmed by a pair of glasses that were slight and barely obstructed his vision. He honestly didn't need them most of the time outside of reading... but it did help to allow people to underestimate him and he liked it that way.

It was about this time he noted her though and he stopped immediately along with his whistling, his body no more than five meters from her as he stood on the dry shore. And with his gaze come one single question. "Why are you in the middle of the water..." Nothing else, no wondering of her name, who she was, what she was. Even if she was lost. He was more focused on why she was in the water of all places.

With her own aura contained Anara gazed at the man in mild wonder, her eyes roaming his appearance in interest. He was not what she had been expecting nor was he like anything she'd seen in quite some time. There was a gentle appearance to him, harmless almost, but the his Song spoke of hidden truths and power. He was not at all as he appeared.

While standing amidst the constant ebb and flow of the ocean she'd slowly been pulled further out into the water. Blinking at the man's question Anara looked down to find the water nearly touching her knees. "It called to me," she answered simply as she moved to exit the water before the hem of her night gown became wet. Not bothered by the sand sticking to her wet toes she stepped from the water, moving back onto the dry sand as she regarded the man curiously.

"Why are you here?"

"Was looking for something or somewhere beautiful that would allow me to play and enjoy the sights... i think i found both but im not quite certain yet of the second part." He smiled as he lifted up the violin case into the light cast by the flame still in his hand as he then brought his eyes to it. "Fire shaping and pyrokinesis together... add in a bit of Telekinesis and you can create some marvels you would not believe." He smiled at her as his odd and carefree tone and nature melted away into the area around him. Like she had thought before he had not hostility or reason to be a danger to her but like he did her she interested him.

"Perhaps we should sit down before you as me anymore questions, as much as i like standing ive been walking for a while now looking for the perfect place and i think we could both go for a quiet conversation." His hands shifted but only to reassure his grip on the case and his hold over the flames. He really did not feel like dropping one or letting the second consume his arm. Another feature would be apparent now though as his hands had moved. They had been gloved the entire time, obscuring the damaged skin he had gotten while learning pyrokinesis. Sure he could have the skin repaired and allow it to look just like new... but it was a reminded to be careful from this point on into his future.

A soft breath of laughter escaped her as Anara let the hold over her aura slip away. Her power rippled out from her, causing the sand to actually shift imperceptibly. No longer hiding what she was her eyes shone black for a moment, the voices hissing louder than before as she moved to take a seat upon the now cool sand. As the voices quieted Anara swept her hand out before her, creating a small pit in which the man might place his flame. Should he require it she could procure fuel to feed his fire if he chose to no longer hold it within his grasp, but for the time being she made no other move to aid him.

Eyes of amber once more regarded the young man, her own gaze ages older than her face. "A dangerous art if not handled properly," she commented as though she had seen another perform similar things once long before. Unable to recall why such control of flame seemed familiar Anara instead looked to his violin case, smiling once more and the light of his flames caught in her gaze. Music was her lifeblood and she was silently eager to hear him play.

"Few walk this far along my beach..."

"Few live life in order to think about the beauty it holds within its grasp. The songs, the lives, even the flowers and grass. Everything holds its own beauty beyond anything that a person can create... well. With the exception of new life and the music of a instrument." He caught her eyes fixated on the case, smiling as he looked down himself and closed his hand that held the flame, ending its light so that he could sit down near her and put the case on his lap. He would slowly run a hand over the case. He always loved to have the instrument with him but his hands moved now to the latches which he moved to open.

Inside was the very instrument that he was expected to have been seen. A violin of no special make or no elegant design. Of no special anything to tell the truth. It was all but a normal old violin with nothing special about it. "So, have you ever heard the sound of this before. Or even better yet had you ever played something like this before?" He would wait for her answer, interested as he realized he didn't even know who she was yet but it would not be that important. He did dwell for a moment thought on what he saw. She was not what she seemed, atleast not on the inside.

"Many times," she smiled, looking at his instrument for a moment before finally meeting his gaze. "I have never played one...my skill lies with my guitar," she grinned, immediately wishing she had her instrument with her. "But one does not always need to know how to play such a splendid instrument to bring its music forth," she murmured as she closed her eyes momentarily.

The cool ocean breeze stilled and even the sound of the ocean grew distant as she tapped into that raw vein of the Force that had always come so easily for her. It's Song was Chaos, but beneath the nonsense Anara pulled forth what she wanted and once more the world around them came to life. Once more the wind tugged at their hair and clothes, but no longer could the ocean be heard as Anara willed the haunting melody of a violin to life. As she did all this she raised her voice in song, her eyes slipping open as she sang only a breath of the melody.

"High is the moon tonight
Hiding its guiding light
High."
Her voice was her own and many others all at once while a variety of instruments accompanied her. As quickly as the music had come it was swept away by the wind and once more she opened her eyes to meet the man's gaze, a soft smile upon her lips.

He watched her and listened to her voice as she sang and the music on the wind was interesting. He couldn't help but smile himself but the voices once more confused him. "Those voices... not just yours and your eyes earlier. What was that if you do not mind my asking that occurs there. Its different and unique but i suspect not something genetic or normal.." He leaned forward as his fingers idly tuned the violin, not playing it quite yet as she interested him greatly. No he wanted to wait before he would play the instrument, he had a interest to sate about what she just did.

Was this some power he did not know about, same with the thing she did to create the sound of a violin. It was amazing to him and it took everything to keep that interest under a lock so that he didn't seem eager. There was a few things that he considers more important than anything else. Knowledge, Beauty, and his family were among the most important. Her ability hitting two of the three marks easily. He could only hope that she would allow him to understand what she did, what she could do and see if he could learn it.

"The Force," she replied simply, her head falling to the side curiously as she studied the handsome young man. "And corruption," she added. "Power comes with a price...no matter its source," she murmured, her eyes taking on a distant look as she became lost in the mutterings of hundreds of voices.

"It is an illusion...a projection of myself and a manipulation of what is around me. You cannot create something from nothing," she smiled lightly as though it was the simplest subject in the world. In truth it was no easy task to perfect such illusions, especially when projecting them into the minds of others as she often did.

"It's a key to this," she reached out to lightly tap his temple with two fingers.

"Well i hate to tell you this, and while the music was beautiful... the real thing always sounds the best out of anything else." With that he put the bow to the strings and closed his eyes. Moving in a fluid motion he pulled it against the strings as the notes began to fill the air. Carried with the wind and against it as it mixed and mingled with the sounds of the water, the leaves if any rustling. Even with the simple breaths that were taken by either of them. Its sound was distant and soft as the song continued, creating something that otherwise was blissful. And for its duration or until she stopped him his eyes would remain closed as he smiled to himself at the sounds.

During that moment his own aura shrunk and the amber color in his eyes dulled. It did not leave but dull it did. Any shred of the darkness in his aura simmering down and becoming more grey as his mind was put at ease. His own secrets locked up in his mind only unlike her he didn't know they had changed him but it didn't matter to him if they did or not. He preferred the beauty of the universe before and after over what a person was, so he would continue to no matter what. He did speak though halfway through the song, aiming a question at her. "Whats your name?"

At some point during the song Anara stretched out across the sand, not at all concerned with the fact that the hem of her night gown slipped higher along her thighs. Molten orbs reflected the starlight above as she let herself become lost in the music, her eyes eventually drifting closed.

Even as he spoke, asking for her name, she did not open her eyes and instead remained as she was upon the cool sand. One hand was buried in the sand, enamored with the feel of the tiny granules slipping through her fingers. Her other hand rested upon her abdomen as she let the music carry her far away.

"Anara Valnor," she breathed.

"A pleasure miss Valnor, my name is Solan Charr." He continued to play while he talked, his hands moving on their own at this point and continuing the breath of the song in a soft low vibration that filled the night air. The land bound winds from the sea crashing against the notes like that of their liquid counterpart against the grains of sand. He rather did enjoy the sound but as he looked over at the woman he was more surprised by her reaction to the music as he watched her seem to, well be entranced by it. It was like it had a hold on her from the way her emotions started to touch the air and her own body language.

He shrugged and took it as a compliment though as he smiled and looked at the space in that separated them and the sea, his eyes closing again while his hands moved to continue the music. It was very rare he was able to simply enjoy the music that he played with someone else, he certainly was not complaining about the fact either.

Eventually her golden eyes fluttered open and she shifted upon the sand to look up at the man playing at her side. The music was beautiful, his skill excellent, and now she was glad she'd woken so abruptly in the night. Had she woken on purpose? Was she meant to meet him all along?

Anara could not say, but she was glad to have encountered him.

"I had not thought to meet anyone out here...not like this...and with such an affinity for something so grand," she smiled lightly and sat up, running a hand through her hair to free it of sand.

"All the fun in understanding the world miss Valnor. What i mean that is no matter what you expect in the world it can surprise you, looking for that adventure is how you find the most enjoyable and sometimes most painful of times." He smiled back at her before his hand stopped and the song ceased. He would move once more with extreme care as he placed the wooden instrument and its bow in the case, followed by shutting and sealing it. "Plus, you do come to see some of the most entrancing and beautiful sights as well."
