LESHA TAROT

BACKGROUND

Alesha Tarot was born on the rugged world of Kiffex, daughter to a Kiffar father and a human mother. Though proud of her heritage, she never grew up in the clan traditions that shaped many of her father's people. When the political and economic uncertainties of the waning Confederacy of Independent Systems began to spread through the Outer Rim, her family sought stability elsewhere. While Lesha was still very young, they relocated to the idyllic world of Naboo, settling among its rolling plains and tranquil lakes.

Unlike many children who dreamed of adventure among the stars, Lesha found herself fascinated by the men and women who stood watch over them. The discipline of the Naboo Defence Force, their sense of duty and their willingness to place themselves in harm's way for others left a lasting impression on her. While her peers pursued careers in government, trade or academia, Lesha devoted herself to physical training, leadership studies and military history.

The fall of the Confederacy during the First Cataclysm only strengthened her conviction. Watching governments collapse and entire sectors descend into uncertainty convinced her that peace was not maintained by ideals alone - it required people willing to defend it. Against the wishes of family members who hoped she would pursue a safer path, she enlisted in the Naboo Defence Force and quickly distinguished herself through a combination of determination, professionalism and a natural ability to lead. Her innate tracking ability of her father's people only helped in this regard.

By 900 ABY, when the fanatical forces of the New Way launched their devastating attack upon Naboo, Lesha had already earned a commission as an officer within the Kingdom's ground forces.

The Neo-Crusader conflict that followed then became the defining crucible of her career. Fighting in the streets of cities she had called home and across the fields she had grown up admiring, she demonstrated remarkable composure under pressure. More than once, her quick decisions prevented encirclements and enabled civilian evacuations in the face of overwhelming odds.

In the years that followed, as Naboo transformed from a regional power into a founding member of the growing High Republic, Alesha rose steadily through the ranks. She served in numerous stabilisation campaigns, anti-piracy operations, and border conflicts, earning a reputation as a capable field commander who balanced strategic caution with decisive action when the moment demanded it.

Now holding the rank of Major in the Grand Army of the High Republic, Alesha Tarot represents a new generation of officers forged by an era of constant upheaval. Though she carries no clan markings and outwardly appears more human than Kiffar, she remains fiercely proud of both halves of her heritage. Her soldiers know her as a commander who leads from the front, expects excellence and never asks others to face dangers she would not confront herself.

To many within the Grand Army, Major Tarot embodies the very ideals the High Republic strives to uphold: service, resilience and the belief that even in the Galaxy's darkest moments, civilisation is worth defending.

PERSONALITY

Lish is the kind of officer soldiers willingly follow into the worst hell the Galaxy can offer. Fiercely loyal to her comrades, her superiors and the ideals she serves, she possesses an unwavering sense of duty that has carried her through wars, invasions and countless campaigns. Discipline is second nature to her, but it is never cold or detached. She leads through example rather than rank, earning respect through hard work, competence and a willingness to share the burdens of those under her command.

Despite her position, Lesha is far from a stiff. Off the battlefield, she is approachable, quick with a dry joke and perfectly happy sharing a drink with troopers after a successful operation. She believes camaraderie is one of the strongest weapons an army can possess and makes a genuine effort to know the people serving beneath her. To many of her soldiers, she feels less like a commanding officer and more like an older sister who just happens to wear Major's insignia.

Beneath her easygoing nature lies the heart of a warrior. Once committed to a mission, Lesha becomes relentless. She pursues enemies with a predator's patience and determination, refusing to give them time to recover or regroup. On the battlefield she fights with a ferocity that often surprises those who know only her lighter side, throwing herself into danger with the protective instincts of a lioness defending her pride.

Perhaps her most defining trait is her belief that no one gets left behind. Whether soldier, pilot or civilian, she refuses to abandon those under her protection if there is any chance of bringing them home. This conviction has earned her both admiration and frustration from fellow officers, as she is willing to take considerable risks to recover the wounded, rescue stranded personnel or account for missing troops. To Lish, victory means little if it comes at the cost of forgetting those who fought for it.

At her core, Alesha Tarot is a soldier - compassionate without being soft, disciplined without being rigid and courageous without being reckless. She fights not for glory or advancement, but for the people standing beside her, and that is precisely why they would follow her anywhere.

+Psychometric Tracker- Though not Force Sensitive, Lesha inherited the Kiffar gift of psychometry. By touching objects, weapons, personal effects, or locations, she can sometimes glean impressions of their history and the people connected to them. While not infallible, this ability makes her an exceptional investigator, hunter and battlefield tracker. Few enemies remain hidden from her for long.
+Adaptable Combatant- Lesha excels at adapting to changing circumstances. When plans fall apart - and they often do in war - she is quick to improvise new solutions. She is comfortable abandoning conventional doctrine if the situation demands it, making her difficult to predict and dangerous to underestimate.
+Elite Marksman- Years of military service have made her an exceptionally skilled shooter. Whether with a blaster pistol, rifle or marksman weapon, Lesha is accurate, calm under pressure and capable of placing precise shots even during chaotic engagements.
+Skilled Martial Artist- While not a dedicated duelist, Lesha has spent years training in military hand-to-hand combat. She is highly effective in close quarters, relying on practical strikes, grapples and disabling techniques rather than flashy moves. Even disarmed, she can defend herself or incapacitate a thread.
+Battlefield Leadership- Her greatest strength remains her ability to command troops. She instinctively understands unit cohesion, battlefield morale and force deployment. Even when outnumbered, she can often organise an effective defence or counterattack.
+Relentless Hunter- Once she identifies a target, Lesha becomes extraordinarily persistent. Combined with her psychometric abilities, patience and military experience, she can spend weeks or months tracking an enemy if necessary.

WEAKNESSES

-Not Force Sensitive- In a galaxy filled with Jedi, Sith and other Force users, Lesha lacks the supernatural advantages many opponents enjoy. She cannot augment her reflexes, predict attacks through precognition or counter Force abilities directly.
-Limited Blade Training - While competent with combat knives and military blades, Lesha is not a dedicated swordswoman. Against trained lightsaber duelists, Sith warriors, Echani masters or elite melee specialists, she is at a clear disadvantage in prolonged blade-to-blade combat.
-No-One-Gets-Left-Behind - Her refusal to abandon comrades can be exploited. She is vulnerable to traps involving captured soldiers, civilians or wounded allies.
-Can Overcommit to the Hunt - When pursuing a particularly dangerous enemy, Lesha can become intensely focused. Her determination occasionally borders on obsession, causing her to overlook secondary threats.
-Predictably Protective - Enemies who study her quickly learn she prioritises the safety of others over her own. Ruthless opponents may use this against her.
-Takes Responsibility Personally - Failures weigh heavily on her. Casualties under her command often become personal burdens, making her susceptible to guilt and self-recrimination. This can be weaponised to break her and infiltrate her mind.
