iu

FACTION: The Empire
RANK: Count Moff Noble and potential heir of Nyriaan
SPECIES: Echani/Human
AGE: 25
SEX: Male
HEIGHT: 6'1
WEIGHT: 160 lb
EYES: Reddish brown
HAIR: Naturally white but often dyed red/brown
SKIN: Light
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes

Appearance
Although mostly light skinned, Leon lacks many of the appearances of an echani. Red hair, reddish brown eyes, and fairly tall. Only his height would seem to come from his father, while his eyes came more from his mothers side. However, his hair is in fact quite white, but is dyed to the red/brown it normally is. It is in his movements and his way of acting though that truly reveals his echani side, he moves just as he fights, with a grace and yet almost animalistic fluidity. With such an emphasis on combat in his fathers culture, and yet the sensations of violence he felt from the past, the two merged in his every motion, but especially when fighting.

  • Force sensitivity: Although not as inherently powerful as his sister, Leon does possess a particular connection with the force and its abilities.
+Psychometry: An ability that seems to come naturally to him. It often comes without his orders and influences his mind and actions, it is this ability that has caused Leon to mimic Salis in spite of never having met her, touching the same ship and tools and weapons she once did.
+He has begun to learn and practice telekinesis. Though his skill with it is still limited and less natural. Resulting either in a lack of precision/control, or having to primarily focus on it, rather than his other abilities.

+Echani master: Perhaps the only thing beside Psychometry that he seems to have a total hold of, Leon has incredible skill with echani due to his father, and moves in a graceful way that very much mimics the dancelike motions they are known for, yet with so much more speed and brutality. While graceful and dancelike, Leon is as likely to cut as he is to break an enemy, using any means necessary. He finds this form works incredibly well with enhanced reflexes of a force user, increasing the understanding of the opponent even further than either individually would.

+The mind is an odd thing: Leon has a fairly strong effect on the minds and emotions of others through the force, although often combined with movements and/or words. He is aware this is a primarily force related trait but isn’t sure if it would still somewhat carry without it.

+Awareness: Like psychometry, this is another area that he naturally differed to Salis. While she was certainly strong in the force and aware of her surroundings, the awareness was much due to her own personality and attentiveness alone, Leon seems to have this naturally. Having an abnormally strong Force Sense for someone untrained on the technique. Much like with precognition, this works very well with him. Seeing the world as moving in its own way and fighting with it just like with any person or creature

+Tamed Monster: To some extent, Leon’s lust for blood has been tempered by the echani training and regular outings, allowing him an output for the desire to fight and destroy. This has made it a little easier for him to control himself, but not as much as it could.

+/- Youthful noble: Technically given authority and having some training on the matter, Leon is still very much new to gaining authority and didn’t at all feel prepared, or want, the authority given to him by his father. He formally relinquished his position as Count, or moff, of Nyriaan. And so most authority is lost, though his training and some influence does remain.

+/- Pleased by blood: Like Salis he possesses a considerable amount of joy and finds violence and death fun and entertaining, perhaps to an even more distorted degree than she does. And due to seeing so much from her, has taken on many of her methods, many of her ways of thinking and acting, though often distorted sometimes more slightly than others. This has resulted in a great skill as the hand of death, though lacking in most of her powers in the force.

+/- Fearless: Another trait burrowed from Salis to a distortion, that happened to be passed on to one of her daughters. It is uncommon for Leon to genuinely feel fear. Even when in serious danger, while this allows him often to think very clearly, it also means he’s prone to risky maneuvers somewhat too often.

-Less trained: While he saw much of Salis, it was only up till she left her family at seventeen. All beyond that is but rumor or documents on the holonet which do not have the same results. This mostly impacted his force powers.

  • Born of the same family as the sith, mercenary, and major Salis Marai V’Trechen. Salis’s father would die only a few years later, and by the time Salis was 27, ten years after she left, her mother would remarry to an echani man. However the family like the one before it seemed fated for destruction after the first child. Although he was perhaps less detrimental than the last. Leon’s abilities in the force showed up more blatantly then hers did, his ability to see ‘ghosts’ of the past revealing him so much of Salis’s history due to her own strong emotions, and destructive passions, that distorted his own mind. Having made contact with so many things held or used by her.

However, unlike with Salis, there was more for him to do that fit with his design. Allowing him to participate in more violence that was considered acceptable. Echani training and sparring was an incredibly common practice for him with his father, and he would often fight pretty much wherever he could get the chance. There was some level of being tempered, as he had this releases, and outings where he could test his skills, usually against animals. He was certainly more brutal than his father would like, but his wife warned him how things went with the last child. It was clear that he’d taken on many aspects of her, even dying his hair and sometimes using the name Marai, though he did admit that was also to make it easier to not be connected to wealth.

In spite of Leon’s youth and love for violence however, his father thrust responsibility on him. Choosing to retire with his wife in their age and watch over Leon during his early years of authority, an authority he neither wanted nor felt prepared for. Yet couldn’t bring himself to give up without his parents approval. His father had much dedication to a mixture of Pallaeonism with some aspects of Felism in it, though he valued individuality greatly, he also saw it necessary that the individuals not be torn apart from each other and stay united whatever their species may be. For the most part, Leon agreed with him. He cared little about what species a being may be, though he certainly leaned even further to Pallaeonism than he did. Himself preferring freedom and individuals over the purely united, even if there was some cost to it.

Leon's father had been essentially a businessman and a banker, using investments and loans to climb the economic ladder until those investments started becoming purchases of land or aiding in military and political matters. A lot of people were a bit fuzzy on how exactly he came to call himself a Count, but there were few who actually seemed interested in stopping him. His wealth made trying to destabilize him problematic, and in spite of the rather vague circumstances of his rise, he emphasized the individuals control over their actions. However, he also encouraged a great many things, both through his own speeches or media he occasionally participated in, and sometimes through monetary incentives, though most often used as prizes rather than a give all. One of those things, was combat training and military, law enforcement, and governmental participation or cooperation. This persisted with the military of the New Imperial Order, and was not limited solely to local individuals. Much of this came from the belief that for people to genuinely know who they were and who others were, they had to fight. And Leon gladly took up that same flag, although, he made no further changes in the matter and tried to avoid expressing his love for it to the extent he felt it. Knowing full well not everyone would take it the same way.

What time he spent as Count, and then Moff, of Nyriaan however was...difficult. For him. He found himself easily slipping into doing things not because they would benefit the people, but because he felt a need to fight someone or something. He'd managed to keep some level of hold on keeping everything stable. But it wasn't going to last. And he knew that eventually his need to fight would stand in the way of his work. This was a difficult decision to make. While it was what he wanted, to release his title back to his father, he did not want his fathers disapproval. Still, he'd rather take what 'talking to' he needed now, or deal with whatever disdain it might bring him, then fail a planet because of his own selfish desires and see what his parents thought of him then.

And so he left it. He was not in a bad position, he'd still get a good inheritance on his fathers death. And until then, he had plenty of money and resources from what time he had spent. And if he avoided living too lavishly, he'd be fine. So he dealt with the transfer of power, got himself a good well furnished and loaded ship and took to his own. Disappointed, but hopeful. He might have relinquished his active hold on is position but his father held hope that he'd get a hold of himself to try and rule again one day.

Naturally he had to ensure he wouldn't squander his wealth. So he started taking advantage of stocks and getting companies started, using what wealth he had to invest in the profitable, with advisors help naturally. Leon wasn't completely inept in the field of credits but most of his work didn't involve if the money would come back, just if it would get the job done that needed to be done. So he did require some assistance, however with that, his chances were good of ensuring his fortune wouldn't ever completely run dry. And besides, he'd always have some spot of home back on Nyriaan to go back to.

Likewise, he had begun the process of ensuring he had the right crew or protection. In this he had managed to N5-1 Exterminator Droid, the timing of which seemed most fortunate, given he discovered how the facility had some rather destructive days not that long after.
