Legion Yun'Do (Faction Page), roughly translated to the Legion of God's Woe, is the remaining contingent of Yuuzhan Vong, Yuuzhan Vong-Formed Sentients, and Yuuzhan Vong supporters in the One Sith faction. While remaining stubbornly attached to the True Way and the doctrine of traditional Yuuzhan Vong, the Legion is only semi-orthodox and follows a constantly modifying cultural paradigm. The universe is changing and the Legion accepts this as a natural, an intended, fact.
~~~Goals of the Legion~~~
The Legion's primary goal is to retain sovereignty within the One Sith sphere, influence spreading outward into the universe. While it does this, it maintains the understanding that the alliance with the One Sith is a healthy one. As such, the culture is isolated to the worldshaped planet of Selvaris, where the community thrives. Beyond this, the Legion expresses itself through the waging of war, in fashion with the True Way and removal of heretics, as well as the continued development of shaping protocols that extend far beyond the original 7 true protocols.
~~~Rules of the Legion~~~
Due to the nature of the Legion, being a conglomerate of multiple cultures, in terms of orthodoxy, there are no hard and fast rules for entrance into the legion. However, here are the characteristics that will improve a characters acceptance into the Legion:
Appreciation/Glorification of Pain: While not all Yuuzhan Vong cultures glorify pain, a large subset of the Legion does. This originates from the Shai domain.
Sacrifice: Making a sacrifice to the Yun'O, in order to profess loyalty. This would normally include a piece of the body, in compliance with the religious beliefs of the orthodox Yuuzhan Vong. This goes hand in hand with religious zeal.
Ambiguous Morals: The Shaper Caste is largely guided by the advancement of the culture through science and as such, those attempting to enter the shaper realm would be behooved by a lack of empathy.
War: Due to the original nature of the Legion, the society is ruled by the Warrior Caste. Battle prowess, fitness, and ability are all measures of an adequate servant for the Yun'O.
~~~History of the Legion~~~
The Legion Yun'Do began as a contingent of the Hrosha-Gul, which was formerly the major Yuuzhan Vong presence within the One Sith. The Legion began on Manaan as a small subset, pulled from the ranks, particularly from the domain Shai. However, as the invasions proceeded, the contingent grew and grew in size until it was no longer just Hroshs-Gul. It was during the Netherworld event that, in the name of the Legion Yun'Do, Selvaris was vongformed to allow for a home location for the Vong that remained loyal within the One Sith.
With the revival of the Hrosha-Gul and the removal of Titan Industries from One Sith territory, the Legion Yun'Do became the last remaining force of loyal Yuuzhan Vong in One Sith space. The Legion itself, since it's initial development, has become a bastion of scientific development, for themselves and the One Sith, as well as a fearsome force of War.
~~~Frequently Asked Questions~~~
How do I join?
Simply join the One Sith and reach out to either myself or Vrag. We will discuss the prospect and how to move forward.
Are there plans to go Major or move away from the One Sith?
No.
Do I have to be loyal to the One Sith in order to be a part of the Legion?
That is more or less your choice, as the writer of your character. Hyper traditional members may find it harder to swallow, though the loyalties of the Legion will not be pulled away from the One Sith as this time.
Do I have to participate in One Sith Faction events, like dominions and skirmishes?
No. However, there will be dominions and faction threads coming up in the future that will be Yuuzhan Vong/Legion centered.
What sort of events?
We intend to create a Legion space station, Kor Chokk. On top of that, dominions in the future may push the Yuuzhan Vong agenda, increasing the area in which we can write and develop. As that happens, we will be looking towards active Legion members to take the warden position for such planets. Along with this, we will eventually be celebrating the Festival of the Gods and may make it a semi-annual event. It's during this time that awards will be given, such as custom items, and we will publicly shape a specific species for the purpose of development (think Yevethan for the first go).
What is different between the Legion and Yuuzhan Vong outside of the OS.
Difficult question as the Yuuzhan Vong culture, as a whole, isn't super actively written in the PC format on Chaos. However, this the answer we've provided in the OS forums.
First and foremost, the Legion Yun'Do is largely a mechanism for scientific development. This stems from the acceptance that the shaping protocols were not, in fact, strict rules but instead initial guidelines for development. It's through the acceptance of this concept that the shaping protocol has been expanded immensely, allowing for substantial creativity and ingenuity, far beyond the original 8 protocols (or 7 really). Civilization tends to follow the science and as such, the Legion Yun'Do bolsters an army that is constantly advancing in biotechnology. Thus, the Vong army within the Legion is highly formidable and easily organized.

The Legion does not limit participation of the group to either religious entity, domain, or original race. Given the vongforming of Selvaris, the planet bolsters a large enough massing to house the entire needs of the Legion, including all castes and multitudes of domains. On top of that, the position of Supreme Overlord is currently unfilled in the Legion and will remain that way, until a time when it is needed. The reasoning for this is that the Legion is a heavily militarized variation of it's former contingent, meaning that war time efforts guide and solidify the unit - Leadership is based on military performance and as such, a military leader is not an appropriate leader for all aspects of the culture (though the Warrior Caste is the governing caste). As such, there are roles to be filled by PC's, including leadership over the Priest, Intendant, and Shaper Caste. Thus, there is a load of room for development with a framework that easily facilitates that development.

Finally, the Legion Yun'Do, while largely composed of Yuuzhan Vong, is not restricted entirely to Yuuzhan Vong. Allowance into the Legion, when not Yuuzhan Vong, is typically accepted given proper appreciation for the culture and understanding of what drives the society as a whole. The above mentioned characteristics will help with this aspect of the entry process.

I've always loved the Yun'Do, and have been itching to join, especially when the Chom-Huun came out.

I've already got vong eyes and vongshaped hands, with my own personal pet (slave) Shaper who betrayed the OS!

Although, with my present (and constant) state of sanity, I'm not sure how well I can learn to give the "proper appreciation for the culture and understanding of what drives the society as a whole"... since I am by the definition of a psychopath, incapable of appreciating anything other than myself, and incapable of understanding anything about society.

I fill all other requirements though.

So... what do? :p

A Legion Yun'Do Hutt is...umm...a sweet idea lol.

I think he would fit, cause honestly in most cases, normal societies would view the Yuuzhan Vong insane as it is, and did so in most situations. So maybe he'll fit in just fine :)

No, that was the point of the initial description. It's not really a celebration as much as an extended glorification of the God. That being said, the setting is both on ground and in the shipwomb, so you don't necessarily need to be doing anything celebration related to take part. The thread is more to just kind of begin the process of introducing vong and vong based characters in a more general format.
