Legends and Legacies (Sith Empire, PM for Invite)

The time had come. Time to do it right, time to get everyone together. Vengeance stood looking out towards the stands towards the fine men and women of the Sith Empire. Behind him the Emperor sat on a raised Throne his features obscured by dark robes. Between the Emperor and the podium Vengeance now stood in front a row of seats. Each one set aside for the leaders of the Empire save Vengeance. He would spend no time sitting down and had intentionally left himself out.

The Amphitheater itself was in a large dome enclosure. The Acoustics were not bad......apparently the previous inhabitants at one time or another had gotten the same idea he had. It was almost time to begin as he watched people file into the place. The first had been the members of the Army assigned to honor guard detail for the event. They were equally spaced around the stage area with the squad leader in center front facing out towards the crowd.

He had a nice little speech prepared for the event. He wore light sith robes with no cloak. He was among his people with no reason to conceal his features or his connection to the Dark side.

Livna emerged from the nearby woods like a wild, sylvan nymph. At first glance, the horned maiden didn’t appear to fit in among the Emperor, the Sith and military leaders of the Empire. The golden-haired Caprine wore a white, knee-length, laced gown which accentuated her anadyomene curves. A thick halo of wildflowers adorned her head, nearly obscuring her wide-set silver horns. In fact to anyone paying attention, it would appear as though she wandered away from an afternoon garden cocktail party, became lost and ended up here at the ampitheatre.

But she was not lost nor disoriented. Sitting down in a reserved seat, crossing her long legs, she folded her hands in her lap and waited for the linguistic evocation to begin, to inspire her and hopefully the rest of the crowd. As the servant of a former Priestess, Livna was all too familiar with this type of ministerial atmosphere, although she glanced around to see who else from the Sith Empire would be here.

Livna Zios was Vengeance’s apprentice, although she knew him as Marcus and may have been one of many Acolyte he trained. She was here out of loyalty to him and the organization he lead. But the Dark Jedi Padawan did not consider herself a Sith, in fact she despised them, but her journey here was a means to an end to the revenge she sought and the protection against malicious forces in the galaxy who would try to systematically hunt her down and execute her. She was an exile from her planet, a wanted woman by the One Sith and being a former servant she had no resources of which to help her even survive. Marcus had offered her a dark refuge.

If you can’t beat them join them.

Edwin didn't have much of a fashion sense. His time in the One Sith military brought him to believe in necessity instead of comfort. Even the free thinking he's been doing for 7 years still felt like something new to him. But even so, the Acolyte still wore the cleanest of his pilot outfits. Deciding not to wear his helmet to pay his respects to the Emperor. The reason he even was able to escape the Rule of One in the first place. His clean cut white hair shone brightly amongst the daylight. His strange yellow eyes was one of the main reasons he stuck to wearing a helmet. People were staring at his eyes, perhaps entranced or curious of them. Edwin could only hope there were no Xenobiologist in the audience. The Acolyte wasn't one for constant observation; it made him uncomfortable and irritated at the same time.

The Acolyte sat down into his seat. He spot the Dark Lords in charged of this entire government, with the emperor being among them. Lord Vengeance, on the other hand stood at the podium ready to give a speech. Edwin awaited readily for the ceremonies to begin.

Ever since leaving home several years ago, Daemora had been searching for the chance to become Darth Verleiden at last. She'd found that opportunity by chance several nights ago; to train under a man whose name she didn't even know. Dressed in black robes, she had come here because she had to find out if she had what it took to be a Sith. Panatha may have offered her little in the form of training, but she had learnt enough about the Force and about herself that she was not worried about what was to come. Or perhaps it was arrogance; either would suggest that she was ready for the Sith Empire. And she was.

This was certainly not how Azalyn had expected today to go. Ideally, she would've gone raiding with some other Black Ties, or flown a crime lord somewhere, or possibly killed one if they had a particularly large bounty on their head. However, recent events had presented a different schedule for the day, and after spending a lot of time pretending that she might not come, she had started her ship up and flown here. Azalyn knew she could kill quite capably with or without the Force, but she'd seen the power of the Sith and since she really had nothing to live for besides her job, it couldn't hurt to make it a bit easier. Besides, work, especially when it was illegal work, wasn't considered the best thing to center your life around. Maybe the Sith Empire would be a better alternative. That was what she was there to find out.

Sgt. Myles Savar stood front and center just under the Podium. He wore full Armor except for a helmet. The lack of helmet was at the assistance of the Sith Lord who know stood behind the podium. Any normal Soldier would have objected but Myles was not a normal soldier. He was Imperial down to his very soul and an Imperial that would never question orders. To keep in contact with the rest of his squad scattered around the stage and at the entry points they all wore earwigs.

Each one had a specific sector to keep watch on and each one did so with precision. Myles himself found a great number of people sitting in his direct line of sight. One in dark robes was clearly Sith, another wore flowers in her hair and looked largely out of place.

Then there was the white haired pilot and another woman he really could not place. All were given a momentarily once over before he resumed the constant scanning of the crowd. A crowd that was supposed to be filled only with loyal members of the Empire but Myles was not about to let his guard down. He initiated a status check with his squad.

"All stations sitrep."

Each one responded with established Alpha Charlie response.

"Alpha Charlie acknowledged."

Vengeance smiled gently tapping the mic with his finger just has the appointed time came.

"Brothers and sisters lend me your ears."

He paused for a moment letting any noise die down and the attention of the crowd to focus on him.

"We are gathered here today because we hold a similar purpose..........a similar calling." "That calling is a dream we all share." "The dream of power, the dream of prestige, the dream of a home we can call our own."

He smiled.

"A home where Sith and Imperial a like can not just coexist but thrive together." "We are small but we are mighty." "We all come from different backgrounds.....have experienced different things." "Together we will take those experiences and use them to build a better future." "A future we can be proud of."

He paused.

"That future begins here with all of you." "Our Pilots, our Soldiers, and yes our Sith."

As the Speaker began Myles turned his head slightly for just a moment. It was an odd way to start a speech. After a minute Myles turned back to scanning the crowd.

If could not have been more than a few minutes into the speech when the comm channel sprang to life.

"Sir, we got trouble at gate two."

He glanced briefly in that direction. He had anticipated a disturbance but had held out hope.

"Sitrep?"

Just as the speaker was taking a short pause more information came from the soldiers at the gate.

"Sir, three military aged males in heavy clothing approaching the gate." "The lead one is doing a whole lot of looking around and another looks to be taking pictures."

Myles glanced towards the stage before looking back out through the crowd. Last thing he needed was a fire fight with so many civilians around.

"Do not engage unless you see a weapon." "Too many innocents........go silent if you have to engage."

Vengeance glanced down at the Trooper in front of him before he continued speaking.

"We have known loss you and I." "Personal loss and loss as an Empire." "From those close to us personally to the loss of Darth Vaildra one of the original Founders of this great Empire."

He paused for effect.

"These loses will be avenged, the criminals responsible brought to a swift and clean Justice." "We will grow stronger and then we will bring order to the Galaxy."

He smiled.

"It will not be easy, there will be times when it looks like all hope is lost." "However we will not stumble, we will not fall, and we will not fail." "For we are Sith, we are the Empire and it is only when your back is against the wall that we truly find what we are capable of."

The solider named Myles had indeed spotted three military men, but they were not there to interrupt. The armor-clad personnel were members of Tmoxin Temi’s Morpho Security Forces, and the holopictures were merely surveillance for her to make sure the ex-Stormtrooper officer’s entrance would be unimpeded. And in a stiff black uniform, cinched and tight in all of the right places, she would emerge from their protective circle, the precious gem they had been guarding.

And whether Myles met her at the gate or not, she would be entering. The Hapan Dark Jedi was on relatively amicable terms with most of the Sith organizations, the One Sith, the Sith Triumvirate, and hopefully now, the Sith Empire. The divisiveness between them would not serve any of them well, however that was none of Tmoxin’s concern.

She was a free agent, independently wealthy and willing to sell her services to the highest bidder. Whether that was leading troops or producing stimulants for soldiers, the Hapan CEO was game. Not sure if she was going to be stopped by the perceptive soldier, she made her way slowly down to the amphitheater.

The man speaking was someone she recognized but only peripherally during her time as an officer for the One Sith. Perhaps later he would grant her counsel, but for now she would merely watch.

As the Sith Lord's speech was drawing to close the gate radio'd back to Myles.

"Sir, we have a fourth Tango, female in black armor."

Myles paused for a moment. Three armed men and a fourth woman.

"Approach and challenge......do not engage."

One of the gate guards a Cpl would acknowledge the order and approach with two privates not a step behind him all three in armor and carrying military grade blaster rifles. The Cpl would address [member="Tmoxin Temi"] specifically.

"Ma'am this is a closed event may I please see your invitation?"

“Invitation?” Tmoxin said, her voice steeped in outrage. “Why would I need an invitation? I fought side by side with your commander up there on numerous occasions.”

Well, maybe not side by side, but they’d been on a planet or two together. Perhaps.

Either way, the Hapan Officer knew who Sith Lord Vengeance was even if he had no idea who she was. Living on Bothawui afforded her unfettered access to the Bothan spy network, and ever since she had escaped house arrest from Darth Carach on Anaxes, she kept a shriek-hawk eye on most of the Sith in the galaxy. Like a cat with nine lives, the Hapan had slipped out of many a dangerous situation by using her wits and influence.

Which she hoped to use now, though her own years in a military industrial complex would remind her that soldiers just followed orders.

Stop treating him like a cantina bouncer, she told herself. He is only doing his job.

“My name is Tmoxin Temi. I’m a former officer for the One Sith, now a private contractor.” She sighed, trying to keep the annoyance out of her voice. “If you want, you can check with your commanding officer. We are only here as spectators and to possibly lend a hand.”

[member="Myles Savar"]

The Cpl does not react to the initial outburst waiting until [member="Tmoxin Temi"] introduces herself. He then radios back.

"Sir, says she is one Tmoxin Temi a former One Sith Officer................seems to imply she knows the CO."

Myles listened to the update glancing toward Vengeance at hearing the name of the One Sith. While not openly talked about there were rumors some of the higher ups were One Sith fugitives. With some quick thinking Myles comes to a compromise that should work.

"Permit Miss Temi admittance but request her entourage stays outside."

Myles didn't like it.............he had half a mind to deny all of them permission but thought better just encase he was wrong.

The Cpl seem to visibly nod before speaking to Tmoxin again.

"Ma'am I been told to permit you to enter but I have to request your guards remain outside."

Vengeance scanned the crowd with a smile.

"Tomorrow our new lives begin." "Today however we celebrate, we remember those that came before us and we honor their sacrifice."

As if on cue dozens of carts appeared from all directions pushed by men and women dressed as cooks, waiters, and waitresses. They line the outskirts of the Amphitheater beginning to set up so people could eat and rink their fill.

Vengeance raised his hands out towards the tables.

"Enjoy my friends..............get your fill and meet your fellow Sith and Imperials."

He stepped back away from the podium for a moment to let the crowd react before he turned to face the Emperor and give him a bow. He then began to mingle with the other Lords and Imperials up on the stage.

[member="Daemora Fel"] [member="Azalyn Falconer"] [member="Livna Zios"] [member="Edwin Setyl"] [member="Tmoxin Temi"]

"Thank you, soldier," Tmoxin said to Myles. "Your service to protect the Empire does not go unnoticed," she continued, with a deferential nod. The Morpho CEO may have been a strict commander with her own stormtroopers, The Blood Monarchs, the former Officer did value the duty of those on the front lines.

Tmoxin took her seat among the crowed and listened to the speech, noting the velvet-tongued Sith Lord and his lofty goals for the Empire. And then with even more interest she noted the event was catered and gratefully took a glass of champagne as a drink cart floated by her.

"To the Empire," she said with a wink, toasting Sergeant-Major Ulysses besides her, her right-hand man since she'd been a Lieutenant.

Noticing that Vengeance was free, the Hapan Dark Jedi rose and approached the stage where he stood. Whether she wanted to reminisce about Seth conquests or discuss a new proposal was anyone's guess.

[member="Vengeance"]

Vengeance stood talking to one of the Moffs when [member="Tmoxin Temi"] approached the stage. Out of the corner of his eye he say the Sgt who had been assigned to him and had been standing in front of the stage the whole speech. Still looking at the Moff he spoke to the Trooper.

"Stand down Sgt. it is quite alright." "Make sure your men get some food........start a rotation."

Vengeance said one last thing to the Moff and then turned towards Tmoxin. He smiled warmly to the woman.

"I see we have an uninvited guest."

He extended a hand out to her.

"And a particularly powerful one at that............my name is Vengeance and to what do I owe this unexpected surprise?"

Edwin was kind of disappointed that the speech didn't last any longer. He did prepare himself for something that could've motivated him, but alas. He felt rather cheated. Not from the Sith Lord, but from his expectations no one could be able to fulfill to help him with his past and present. Edwin had taken a glass of wine from one of the carts. Sith and Officers alike were mingling with each other. Sparking friendly chatter. It surely seemed this Empire's foundations were designed to make everyone a friend. Edwin frowned, he never felt that kind of prospect with anyone. Not his preivous commanding officer, not the numerous Sith who taught him until they would've deemed him fit enough to become an apprentice. Not even the numerous pets Edwin had in the past, when he always had tried to fill in the hole that came with the emptiness of hard working. It did get him where he was now. A prodigy pilot. He had his license and everything. He wondered if he could ever become more than a pilot.

He took a sip from his glass. Nothing was impossible, but Edwin knew that he himself was holding himself back. If only he could meet someone that could break his distrust. But there wasn't anyone around here he felt he could trust. He looked towards Lord Vengeance. His darkside energies pulsed from him life a heart. It was a shame he could never have that kind of insecurity. He hid his lightside affiliations from everyone here, Edwin felt it may become a lifetime of this sort of routine. Oh well. Edwin thought. I have time.

The speech was finished and everyone had started to drift towards the food and drink. Myles however stayed exactly where he was continually scanning the crowd. That was until a woman matching the description he had gotten from one of his Troopers seemed to brazenly walk right up to and on the stage.

He moved to block her path.

"Ma'am I ........................................"

His words were cut off as the Sith Lord told him to stand down and start a rotation to get his men feed. To be honest Myles was surprised by the response but didn't let his expression so it. Instead he briefly snapped to attention.

"Yes Sir."

He stepped away a few feet jumping on the radio.

"Teams one and three get some chow." "Two and four hold position until relieved and then get some chow."

Once his instructions were acknowledge he glanced back towards the Sith Lord and [member="Tmoxin Temi"] keeping a semi-close eye on the pair. Last thing he needed was to get caught off guard on his first high profile watch.

The solider, while attractive in his own right and in the way that Tmoxin normally liked, was not the person she came to talk to tonight. She threw him a triumphant look, having been granted admittance, and turned back to Sith Lord Vengeance, her champagne held high as though the entire ampitheature was flooding with waist-high water.

"I'm making the rounds," said Tmoxin. "Examining the potential adversaries of the One Sith."

A galaxy where the One Sith was not the primary governing body was quite enticing, especially because everyone knew that the Galactic Republic was useless in both warfare and political maneuvering.

"I'm here to lend a hand, depending upon your ultimate goals," she stated quite plainly.

[member="Vengeance"] [member="Myles Savar"]

Vengeance smiled his hands clasping behind his back.

"That depends on what goals you are referring to."

He began walking glancing to her as if to indicated for her to walk with him."

"The Emperor's goals, my goals, or the individual goals of each and every individual Sith and Imperial here." "Any man...............or woman with half a brain knows they are nto always one and the same." "The Emperor wants what every Emperor wants...............to rule over the entire galaxy as the supreme power challenged by none." "I just want to rape, kill, pillage, and burn..................but until I can get back to that I train the next generation."

One hand came out to way across the crowds of people.

"Most of them either want power, and influence or want desperately to hold on to it."

He paused as they passed a table his free hand grabbing a handful of small fruits popping one into his mouth. He then smiled softly to her.

"I didn't catch your name." "And what makes you think we are adversaries of the One Sith?" "And don't say because they consider everyone not One Sith to be traitors and heretics." "That would be too easy."
