Artus Prime | Mining Facility Resh-5-6

The past weeks had seen quite substantial activity around the remote world of Artus Prime. Techno Union ships and construction teams have been industrious, almost zealous in their pursuit of delivering the facility as promised. The unfriendly and harsh environment not making the task any easier, yet they prevailed. Carved into the rock itself, formed with ferrocrete and alusteel, using prefabs and other standardised elements - the new mining and research facility was ready in time.

Project Doomgiver or how it was informally referred to: Legacy of Fyyar, was about to being in earnest. Imperial prospectors and engineers moved in along with extensive research teams of the Imperial Department of Advanced Research and Development, beginning the business of both mining Artusian Crystals as well as setting up the laboratories. Stormtroopers of the 181st Legion were put in place as garrison, establishing a secure perimeter. Despite the activity and incoming traffic, the operation was strictly classified and security was tight. In low orbit, among clouds and interferences, hung an Imperial I Star Destroyer, the Reclusiarch, as reminder of Imperial presence and power.

ssssssss.png
Project Doomgiver was the re-continuation of the Shadowtrooper Project of the Empire Reborn, intending to utilise the similar technology to create Force-imbued soldiers that could use the Force despite a too low amount of Force potential in them. The technology used was complex, using crystalline matrices from Ka'thaa'rahn weaving the kyber crystals mined here as well as imported ones with Isotope-5 infused genetical code and midichlorians to achieve entirely artificial results, without the usage of powers such as the Valley of the Jedi. Embedding the crystals into the subjects, rather the armor - though here alternatives are being researched and explored such as modifying the Sith Stalker armor concept to suit a melting of flesh and armor.

With the launch of the project, department heads, involved scientists and Iron Empire High Command meet to discuss the current situation, progress and what is to be expected of this rather daring scientific venture.

Artus Prime | Mining Facility Resh-5-6 | Overwatch Tower

Much of the facility was directly carved into the rocks, crevices and canyons of Artus Prime's rugged surface. Several control and security installations remained above ground though, including a central tower that oversaw both physically and technologically the entire operation. Large viewports were around its top floor which was equal outlook and currently empty. A lone trooper was walking around the balcony, his armor's insignia marking him as member of the 181st.

Imperius had chosen this place for an initial gathering of the involved parties. Scientists, sponsors, soldiers - this project was one of the foundations for the rise of the Iron Empire and rule of order. While being kept classified, it was also concerningly open, reminding him of the amateur handling of the initial phase of the Catalyst Protocol that actually spawned this operation.

For now, the Warmaster waited, his massive figure resting silently in his dark armor. Unmoving he stood with his black gaze staring towards the horizon of the world that had spawned a similar project before many centuries ago and now would do so again - yet not so childishly wasted.

What a difference a day makes. Or two. Or three. How long has it been? I am unsure. The hours and days seem to blend together as I go from planet to planet, region to region; never to remain in the same place for long.

Although this time it may be different. At least for a little while. Here I am a guest of my lab partner. He talks down to me like most Force Wizards do. And I expect nothing else from everyone else here. But my work speaks for itself. Without it; this might not be possible at this moment. All of this mining and construction might not even be happening. But it is all a sign of progress. And progress is generally a good thing.

I am not used to being around so many stormtroopers. Their stiff stature, weapons and helmets easily provide a feeling of intimidation for someone like me. Yet I still maintain my grace as I walk past them towards the meeting room where myself and a bunch of others are to be assembled. There is something ominous about today, moreso than the sight of my lab partner standing there alone brings me. I have little doubt that the cause for that feeling will soon come to light.

"Greetings, Mister Imperious. I can see that you have been quite busy since your departure." I am well aware that I am stating the obvious. However it is just a little smalltalk until the others arrive. I am of course curious as to who else is set to attend.

Kelric Thann

Something of a Scientist
Arriving at the facility, Kelric was immediately struck with disappointment. He looked around and knew right then and there he wanted a proper look around. However, his presence was currently required at a meeting in the overwatch tower where his Boss has called him from (he wasn't sure what else to refer to him by, so Boss was all he did).

As he walked through the halls of the facility, he kept a hold of a briefcase in his left hand containing notes, datapads, other items, etc. He eventually reached the meeting room in the Overwatch tower where his boss and another individual were already present.

He gave a brief nod to the lady in the room (offering a small "Ma'am), before simply standing to the side. He was not one to shy away from small talk, but he admits he cannot start it.

It was a bit strange for Amalia to work as an assistant to a man younger than her and one she considered inferior to herself, but this time, she could finally act more on her own. As a Child of C herself, the first succesful one even, Amalia...or rather Mira had a closer connection than anyone to the being who held the true power behind the megacorporation that was the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, even more important was the fact she had been given custody over Section C, the secret shadow within the N&Z which facilitated the power held by the Lord of Hunger and his continuing influence. In their official capacity, the division didn't even exist, they were on paper nothing more than a combination of shell companies and defunct locations, but while Tertius Nargath ran the N&Z as a respectable company, Section C and its associates acted as the conglomerated remains of the old company's ways, hiding this all behind a veneer of internal corporate bureaucracy and overblown budgets which both the Lord of Hunger and Mira could facilitate in their own capacity; one through the manipulation of the shareholders, the other due to their close position to the current top of the company.

While the reason for her visit to Artus Prime did have a link to the N&Z through some other ways, such as the rumor that the former, wayward Director Liin "Tera" Terallo Liin "Tera" Terallo would be at the location as well, this was not the largest reason. The Lord of Hunger in his capacity of being a close associate and supporter of the endeavors brought forth, and undertaken by the man known as Imperius Indomitus could not just sit idly by and not at the very least maintain relationships even when it seemed their paths had diverged, and one of the ways to achieve this contuance on their beneficial partnership, was to send Mira in her guise as Amalia towards Artus Prime, have her represent not just the N&Z, but Section C as well, providing Imperius with the monster's own scientific insight and immoral view on progress in any and all field of engineering; from bio to mechanical engineering.

With her shuttle landing the woman checked her belongings, the small blaster in her sideholster, a vibrodagger hidden in her black, thin armormesh tie, yes safety was all, after all. Even amongst allies and associates, the galaxy was never to be fully safe and secure. With her path leading her through rows of Stormtroopers and other personel which looked both foreign and strangely familiar at the same time, the woman finally entered the meetingplace, nodding calmly with a blank expression, effectively as neutral as she possibly could, with little to no emotion of any kind visible upon her face. "Greetings, Lord Indomitus... I hope you and your associates did not have to wait too long?"

her cold, dull eyes scanned the room, a faint smile creeping on her face as her eyes found Lady Terallo, nodding ever so calmly in her direction. "Strange assocrtment of guests, no?"

Director Sisenna did not belong here. That was the advice he had received from what little vestiges remained of his corporate-aligned staff. He had mostly replaced them, in the wake of his successful usurpation of the Directory, but he kept a trio around at all times to advise on matters of economic management. He desired to be rid of them, but for political obeyance to his allies in the Trade Federation, he chose not to do so. As the shuttle pinged the Reclusiarch for clearance to land, Gaius Sisenna contemplated that choice.

His staff for this gathering had been greatly reduced. Two SpecNav operators were his only complement besides a restrained engineering droid, a model specifically designed for meetings of this sort. The type he restrained his associates from accessing, the type that was always wiped by a trusted remnant affiliate when they returned. The shuttle itself could not be improved upon, maintaining the same CIS appearance that was typical of the Trade Federation.

"Our landing has been cleared, Director." The message was relayed with a subsequent nod from its intended audience. The shuttle careened toward the surface of Artus Prime as the landing party made their preparations for the meeting itself. The hiss of the rear compartment announced their arrival to the men of the 181st who awaited him. As the Director's boots struck rock, he was greeted with familiar faces and cadences. A smile graced his features as he started forward with his two-man escort, allowing the men on duty to check their persons for security purposes.

Gaius Sisenna eventually arrived at the site of their convention, his eyes immediately surveying the attendees. A single leak could jeopardize his desire to keep his involvement here under wraps, yet he risked it anyway. Finally he decided on an introduction,

"Director Gaius Sisenna. Lord Indomitus, it is good to meet you."

He nodded to the others gathered, but otherwise paid them no mind. His escort was promptly dismissed to return to the ship.

He offered a glance to each of the arriving individuals. The assortment of individuals was only strange as it was a rare lack of military personnel among them but otherwise an expected gathering and one to look forward to. The project was to proceed quickly and it was in the best interest of the involved to see it happen.

"Miss Terallo, Director Thann, Miss Visconti and Director Sisenna. Some of you may have been in touch with one or another part of this project already, it is no small degree the achievement of Miss Terallo that it has been initiated, her research into Isotope-5 and Force sensitivity has afforded us a rather new approach. Our goal here is to recreate and improve upon what was done under the Empire Reborn scientist Galak Fyyar: Shadowtroopers. Individuals who had a minimum amount of Force sensitivity, one that would not be enough to warrant attention from the religious sects, and reinforce that through technology so they could utilise a modest amount of Force powers."

"Previously kyber crystals mined here on Artus were used, infused with energies from the Valley of the Jedi on Ruusan. We aim to amplify the midichlorian output more naturally through testing various kyber crystals and powering the midichlorians through Isotope-5 infusion. This project, titled Doomgiver, will receive both funds and unwanted attention. Security will be strict and work has to be conducted quickly. I have made various cloning equipment available here to accelerate the live-testing."

"I place you in overall command of the project, Director." His gaze looked at Kelric Thann Kelric Thann . "What further do you need?"

"Do the present have further input or proposals?"

Another arrives soon after me, and so I bow my head to him respectfully. However shortly thereafter Amalia arrives. I did not expect to encounter anyone that I knew here. But I am not entirely surprised that N&Z would have their hands in this sector of space either. I have nothing against my former employers; for they have done nothing wrong to me. Yet I am not entirely excited about it either. Such an encounter could lead to questions that I would rather not answer right now.

My attention turns to another that enters the meeting room and I am glad to see that he is a stranger. The more strangers that there are, the better. Most especially in regards to my research.

Mister Imperius begins to speak and so I turn all of my focus on him. If Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell were here to listen too, he would probably be boring his eyes into me. This Doomgiver project is exactly what he told me would happen if the Imperials got a hold onto my research. But it was only on the day that my first laboratory was invaded that I had discovered that there was any Imperial involvement in my research at all.

I keep my expression neutral. My initial research was not intended to go in this direction; but in another direction all together. Yet I am responsible for this development all the same. For better or for worse.

"
What is the current deadline?"

Kelric remained against the wall as the Warmaster of the Iron Crusade stated that he would be in overall command of the project. Internally, he was very pleased with this. Not because it meant that he would receive any glory from the project, or that he was the first choice. No, he felt joy because that would mean he could be at the very heart of the project and learn it inside and out.

He looked around the room at the other individuals present, giving them all a quick scan before looking back at the big boss of this operation.

"Well, sir, any materials, equipment, that sort of stuff I will have to let you know what is needed once everything is set up. For now, I wish to simply get to know the other individuals who will be a part of this project."

Kelric wished to know more about his potential allies within the project and where their strengths lied so that things can be seen to in an efficient and effective way. The room was full of people who were probably far more wide-ranged in their capabilities than him, he was just a scientist after all.

Amalia calmly flashed a faint and somewhat reserved smile towards Liin "Tera" Terallo Liin "Tera" Terallo , an expression the woman probably would never have seen before, as the assistant to Tertius never seemed to show any emotion beyond the most neutral and uninterested expression. There was no doubt she was aware of Lady Terallo and despite what the former director of the N&Z might have thought, Amalia's reaction showed no enmity or disdain, but more a flicker of curiosity and a certain gleam of amusement.

"I believe it would be good to exchange data on this research with Section C," The woman turned her attention towards Imperius Indomitus Imperius Indomitus with that same smile, having grown to a near full blown grin. He'd know who she represented, not the weakhearted Tertius who did his very best to keep the N&Z a neutral corporation with no ambitions to continue the old and much less savory legacy of the company he controlled. No, Amalia represented Section C, the division led by her and acting as the gateway for the Lord of Hunger to retain power within the N&Z. What Section C stood for was the old N&Z Umbrella: ruthless, cunning and without regards for the lives of the innocents. "We are in the process of restarting a few old projects which could both enhance and benefit from the progress of this research. We had experimented with a more...scientific form of Essence Transfer, imbuing those with little force power with an overwriting gene-sequence which could potentially boost the presence and activity of midichlorians within a single organism... You may have seen at least two or three of the results from those old research attempts, Lord Imperius."

Probably unbeknownst to anyone here, Amalia herself was one of the aforementioned results, a Child of C, imbued with the genetic material of the Lord of Hunger in her early, formative years and granted a significant modicum of Force sensitivity because of it, though due to the instability of her bonding with the material, she was seen as both a success and a failure. However, there were also the Mobius Tyrants like Mr Pollux and the rogue research subject Hraelga Nacht Hraelga Nacht .

"All that aside, we might be able to offer you extensive facilities and resources for this project of yours."
