Taine stands an impressive six-foot five inches and weighs well over two hundred pounds. He has greyish black hair that he generally keeps trimmed short in a military-like style. He is extremely muscular, a result of a punishing workout routine and years of hunting dangerous beings. Perhaps his most noticeable feature are his light blue, piercing eyes. Taine has a cybernetic prosthetic where his right forearm and hand once was.
BIOGRAPHY:
Lazrus Taine was born Vincente Crinaldi, the son of a power boss in a criminal syndicate on Lorrd, approximately forty-six standards years ago. From an early age, he was raised and educated with the sole intent of being his father's successor. When he was twelve, Vincente was given a weapon and ordered to execute a man who had stolen from his family. He didn't hesitate and pulled the trigger. As a teenager, he would run packages containing drugs and weapons from New Shallos to the Capital. It was on one of these trips that he was attacked and nearly killed by a gang of thugs. He was saved by a young boy from a rival gang named Beltran Rarr and the two became close friends.
Upon returning to his father, Vincente brought Beltran with him and the boy was welcomed into the family. For the next two decades, Vincente would rise in the criminal underworld with Beltran at his side. Eventually, however, Beltran began to outshine him. Whispers and rumors flew that Vincente's father had decided to name Beltran his successor over Vincente and so, in a rage, Vincente tried to have his friend killed.
The assassination failed, and Beltran began to hunt for Vincente-driving him off world and into the arms of a Hutt-backed crime syndicate called The Outfit. For years Vincente would work with The Outfit, creating a reputation for himself for violence and brutality. When the time was right, Vincente returned to Lorrd. With The Outfit supporting him, Vincente took over his aging father's criminal enterprises one by one, killing anyone who got in his way.
Eventually, he would come for his old friend and rival Beltran Rarr and the two would nearly kill each other in a gunfight. Wounded but victorious, Vincente would take control over his father's holdings, executing the old man in their ancestral home. Beltran would flee Lorrd and disappear into the Core with Vincente and The Outfit on his heels. A few battles would occur, most notably on Denon, but neither Beltran nor Vincente would be able to pin the other down long enough for a final showdown.
As time went on the Sith would come to Lorrd, dominating all who would oppose them. Vincente watched as his hard-won organization was torn apart until there was nothing left. Fleeing Lorrd, like his nemesis had done over a few short years earlier, Vincente would take on the alias Lazrus Taine and begin life as a bounty hunter.
- Hyper-intelligent: Lazrus is a genius who excels at many things such as advanced mathematics, engineering, linguistics and particle physics. Had he been raised in a different atmosphere, he might have gone on to become an innovator such as the galaxy has never seen. In most cases, he is several steps ahead of both his quarries and other hunters, which has allowed him to become as good of a hunter as he is.
- Uncanny Mimic: Like the rest of his species, Lazrus has the ability to mimic the voices and mannerisms of other creatures. He also excels at reading others' body language, often being able to deduce what a person is going to do before they have even made the conscious decision to do it.
WEAKNESSES:
- Brutal: Lazrus only sees one way to get things done, and that is with violence. He is the type of man to start a firefight or kill someone even if he doesn't have to, just because he likes it. This has often led him into trouble and is part of the reason he is such a wanted criminal.
- Addict: At some point in the past, Lazrus developed an addiction to powerful narcotics. If he goes too long without a fix, he becomes increasingly unstable and violent. If he goes long enough without, he will enter withdrawal and start exhibiting potent symptoms such as seizures, uncontrollable rage and possibly even death.
