Kingdom of Devit
Something that has been told to me by others is that they love the development I’ve been doing with Lazerian IV since I created Caelan. I love it too, but it feels a bit lonely creating things that only I utilize.
I’ve watched other people out there, read threads, and one thing I really enjoy reading is the roleplay about culture. You especially see this coming from Atrisian’s, Hapans, Nabooans(?), etc. These rich cultures have a lot of people writing in them. I don’t mean they just say they’re from those cultures, I mean they’re actually RPing the culture with other writers from those cultures. I love that. That’s what I’ve been hoping for with Lazerian IV as well.
So the reason I’m posting this is that I want to spend more time writing some cultural RP and doing things that don’t really involve the map game. There’s nothing wrong with the map game as a concept, I just struggle too much with it and I recognize that, so I’m looking to step away and do more of other styles of RP.
What I wanted to see is if there were other people out there who want to explore more of that style of RP and aren’t currently doing so, or want to have another outlet for it. I’m looking for people who want to write characters from Lazerian IV, or even Acorvus (former penal colony, think space australia!) and Dborian (mining colony).

Several years before the current 902ABY (I’m intentionally avoiding setting the actual date because I don’t feel like doing the math!) the Kingdom was run by King Alaric Valoren and Queen Amara Valoren. Amara was a citizen of Doxeti who married the King as the two were hoping their union would help bring Doxeti into the kingdom eventually. The Queen was a former Jedi that gave up that life to be Queen and a Mother, bearing two children, twins Caelan and Kita, with Caelan being the older of the two.
When the twins were fourteen, the Kingdom was attacked by an organization called the Obsidian Syndicate on what became known as the Night of Betrayal, as several citizens had joined with them, and used their positions to facilitate the attack. This attack resulted in the deaths of the King and Queen, the disappearance of Kita, and Caelan’s flight from the world in order to stay alive. In the meantime, the syndicate set up shop harvesting Empeth crystals in order to use them to find more Force sensitive children to fill their ranks.
Nearly a full year after this event, with the help of the Galactic Alliance and the New Jedi Order, Caelan returned to Lazerian IV, and the occupying force was defeated. At this point, Caelan took up the mantle of King of the Kingdom of Devit. Also around this point, it was learned that the Syndicate was hired by someone from Lazerian IV to eradicate the Valoren bloodline. Caelan is currently trying to figure out who that person is, and just recently they killed Queen Anavi and attempted to use an explosive to kill Caelan and the children.
That brings us to the present.

- Citizens: Just the average people that live on Lazerian or one of the colonies.
- Nobles: There is a noble class on Lazerian IV itself that is underneath of the King (kind of like England).
- Soldiers/Naval Personnel: Lazerian has a rich history of producing excellent pilots, but we also have an army and a small system defense navy.
- Scientists: There are two major corporations that exist on Lazerian (established by me) called Lazerian Dynamics and Lazerian BioTech. Former does all kinds of weapons/tech research and the later is focused on implants/pharmaceuticals/prosthetics.
- Professors/University Students: We have the Lazerian Academy of Science and Medicine available for people who want to focus on the medical or research fields as well.
- Leadership of Doxeti: The city state that inhabits the continent of Doxet could use its leadership and there’s some potential for good story here as Caelan wants to get them to join the Kingdom properly in order to unify the world.
- Leadership of the Colonies: pretty self-explanatory.
- Politicians: The world is currently in GA space and has no representative (it’s not currently on the map as it was removed during the map shuffle, but was on the map prior within GA space). We could also use representation in the nearby High Republic.
- Antagonists: There is the opportunity for people running black market operations out of Lazerian as there are some items that are rather valuable coming from the local flora/fauna. Also, there’s a threat to the Kingdom as a whole in the person responsible for the death’s of Caelan’s parents and the attempts on his life (that one will take direct coordination with me and would definitely require a new character for the writer).

Couple of items to note:
- Both Lazerian BioTech and Lazerian Dynamics are nationalized. After the salaries of the employees are paid, income is divided into funding of necessary resources and a second pool of money that is doled out to all non-employee citizens, with the exception of Nobility and the Crown, in the form of monthly payments. This stipend was instituted by Caelan in order to better the lives of the people and decrease crime.
- There is a large population of resettled individuals from Woostri, Coruscant, and Arkania in a newly developing city to the west of the City of Devit.
Going forward I do have plans for several stories:
- Revitalization of the old Jedi outpost on the planet to establish a home location for an organization of Hidden Path aligned people called the Wardens of the Light who will serve as visible mediators, peacekeepers, and aide renderers, not soldiers and intentional combatants.
- Unification of the whole of Lazerian IV under the Kingdom of Devit, to be renamed upon completion as the Kingdom of Lazerian.
- Re-established direct contact with the colonies with the intention of fostering good relations regardless of the previous uses of the worlds (especially the penal colony) and eventually, if it works out, their incorporation into the Kingdom.
- Finalize the investigation in the Obsidian Syndicate and their backers to determine who is truly behind the attempts to kill the Valoren line and stop them for good.
