Law and order

sɪɴɴᴇʀs ʙʏ ᴅᴇᴇᴅ ʙᴜᴛ ʀɪɢʜᴛᴇᴏᴜs sᴛɪʟʟ
This was probably one of the stranger cases joti had taken. Captain "Lawfull" Tir, A core imperial confederate captain who had fled after the CIC's collapse, and taken up refuge on ord centrell. that in of itself wasn't too strange, but when she heard that the captain had become involved with a cult of sorts and had been terrorizing a local town, that's when things started getting weird. She'd landed here the day before and had an oddly warm welcome, something about mandalorians fending off a yhuuzahn invasion, which joti had vague memory of happening while she was elsewhere.

This morning, however, was quiet. She was sat in a booth at a nearly empty cantina, eating some brothy noodle dish quietly and unfortunately, alone, as she had no partner to work with. she had to plan, act, and otherwise hunt alone, which was proving difficult in this particular instance. the locals had told her very little, save for the fact that they were constantly harassed by men working for this mysterious captain, and that they wanted not only control of the town, but something within it, or under it, no one could really keep that part straight. this would have been handled by now, but the local government had been all but wiped out during the invasion, and with the fall of mandalore, their armored protectors had met a similar fate...

With that on her mind, joti watched over a datapad and continued eating her breakfast, waiting for something out of place to catch her eye or break the silence.

NASSATH CITY, DISTRICT 6
Ord Cantrell, Local Time 1315

Ord Cantrell wasn't nearly as glamorous as Anna had been led to believe. That was probably the "war-scarred wasteland" rearing its head, of course. Every once in a while, Anna caught a peek of what it'd been like before the Mandalorians had brought destruction to its doorstep. Like a golden luster beneath a layer of dirt, there was that rare building or even full sector that had been spared the ravages of whatever quarrel the faceless horde of power-drunk war cultists had visited upon these poor people. And that? That was worth working to restore.

Anna's one-woman efforts to complete a restoration of civilian infrastructure hadn't accomplished much yet, unfortunately. The comfortable sum she'd made by way of salvage over the last month or two didn't go far with civil engineering, which frequently cost tens of thousands of credits per project. She was doing what she knew she could, though, and her unique advantages were paying dividends now. After all, when a machine looked broken and acted broken, most people would consider it broken and replace it with something new. Anna, on the other hand, could make rubbish sing if she just had a few hours.

After a couple of projects, she'd managed to decrease the energy this specific district was pulling from a greater planetary power hub. That'd been enough to get her some good favor, at least, and the benefit of the doubt from the struggling businessmen who were trying to keep this ramshackle demilitarized zone afloat. Other cities might have been doing better or worse, absolutely, but right here? Right now? This was what she could do. This was what she would do.

There was a click in the cantina, followed by a quick flicker of the lights and an audible whirring noise. A few seconds later, everything passed, and Anna Sachae walked out of one of the back rooms. As she approached the bar, she pulled off her electrical gloves and gave a quick smile. "Fried an ion capacitor when the city pulled your power to keep its border shields up. That should have you running much cleaner. None of those little fluctuations you were having."

Hm? It was pretty empty in here. Anna gave the only customer a quick nod and a brilliant smile.

Fried Ion capacitor? why didn't I think of that?

Joti watched quietly and listened while the woman conversed with the bartender, who enthusiastically thanked her and prepared food and drink. She smiled, glad that someone was helping them, not joti didn't think she was helping, but her help wasn't free and it came in a slightly more violent form... But she considers herself a necessary evil, after all, In the lawless reaches of the outer rim, who would deliver justice if not the guild?

Her thoughts were interrupted when the woman smiled at her, a genuine smile that she wasn't used to seeing, reputation and all. she figured her expression would change when she realized she was mandalorian.
She'd return the nod and grab her helmet under one arm and head towards the front, smiling softly and waving.

"Good work with that Ion capacitor, maybe the holo-players will stop skipping?" she chuckled, thinking about just how annoying it was when the music kept cutting out.
