Feeling the Force presence of his friend Pyeth Raffinki , Corbin turned to look at the Jedi. Since waking from the aftermath of the Sith invasion, Corbin seemed to have a much stronger Force Sight, which had already been much stronger than even his mother's or any of their Miralukan ancestors. Corbin could sense the conflicting emotions radiating from his Jedi Cousin's Force Aura. He felt for Pyeth. The Jensaarai may have been tought to embrace and control emotions, but the Jedi were not. They were meant to stay calm and tranquil at all times. Emotional turmoil made them vulnerable. But he was not sure there was anything he himself could do. He was in an odd circumstance. He may be Jensaarai, but he had absolutely no idea how to control or ebb temptation to the Dark Side, because he was apparently incapable of even feeling it. He had never been able to touch it. In fact, the emotions required to tap into the Dark Side only seemed to make Corbin's connection to the Force weaken. No amount of research in the library archives had yielding any explanation. He wondered if it was in anyway connected to the voice he'd been hearing, but since the invasion, since when he was secretly certain he had died and been resurrected, he had not heard the voice. That in itself was comforting, but he also felt a sense of foreboding.

As the Geonosian and honorary Ordo gave their mentions of military support, Corbin gave his. "The Jensaarai hold a solemn duty of defending the Suarbi system. Although we were hit hard, I believe we sincerely managed to keep it from being worse. We currently have no Saarai-kar to lead us or order any military aide beyond Suarbi, any who freely choose to may. Force-Tech does have starfighters and assault frigates at your disposal. We've already begun construction to replace the starships lost for our Ring Defenders, but we can provide our Wasp series fighters to any squadrons within this new League as may need them."

Corbin gave a momentary pause to send the information on the Wasp Series Starfighters and the ATMF Epaulette-Class Assault Frigate to everyone. "And I very much agree with the Archduke. We should focus on defense first. Many refugees have already fled Susevfi, not just from Yumfla, but the entire moon itself. I am unsure exactly where they all went. The Rimward Rangers evacuated many, with a little help from various other generous organizations. The ones who remained are already helping to rebuild. Soon, the Sith Order will be busy with its war against the Galactic Alliance. I say we do what we can for now to build up our defenses and offenses and hit them hard from behind with an ambush attack. Yes, we would lose an allout war with the Sith, but if they are distracted and not expecting us... But it's just a suggestion. I know we're not exactly a formal or finalized League, but..." steeling his face and adding a firm tone to his voice, he added, "I want justice." He would get stronger, and he would face Empyrean again. And next time, he would not lose.

The faint smile on her lips faded, but Aerin felt no animosity towards Hoskar Kuhlvult or Laphisto and anyone else who doubted the LAW's capabilities at face value. Bigger fights had been won with less, and the First Administrator was confident in the Outer Rim's tenacity. "Let us not forget that is was the 'ragtag' Rebel Alliance who defeated the Galactic Empire's superweapon, twice," Aerin pointed out. "It was the Resistance who destroyed Starkiller Base. It will be us who destroy the Mors Mon and reclaims the Outer Rim. My dad, Huxley Denno, always says to bet on losing dogs... because one day, they're gonna win. It may not be today, or tomorrow, but some day -one day- the LAW will win."

She looked over the assembly with steely eyes and hardened resolve. Even those who expressed concerns with the LAW's readiness were willing to bolster it, and that's what truly mattered. "Fleet contributions from the Geonosians and Lilaste Order," Aerin recounted. "Logistics from Citalee, and RTL assets from Force-Tech. Should the conclave agree to support us as well, we can count on the Spacers Alliance for picket fleets, the ORDC for infrastructural support, and the Bounty Hunters Guild for strike teams." Once piece at a time, world by world, guild by guild, the LAW would grow. Aerin's smile returned, and she shifted the holograms of planets and battleship schematics to the symbol of an avian creature beneath a guiding star - the crest of the League of Autonomous Worlds. A Sullustan ash angel and the helpful star that would guide them to freedom. Until more visuals were needed, the symbol would spin lazily on the projector, casting the room in a faint golden hue.

"The terms of your respective pledges will need to be discussed in more detail, of course, but your offerings thus far will prove immensely valuable."

Already, Aerin was planning how best to use them. There was some concern over the viability of listening posts on Susefvi and her proposed mission to Dagobah, but she was quite confident in at least the former option; creating a hidden network of recon hubs on former RTL worlds would be an invaluable first step toward restoring the intelligence web that ORION relied so heavily upon. Perhaps this would be a first job for Xitli Sacul and Citalee's logistics teams.

”My level of interest is approaching zero,“ Veda replied to the large red Devaronian on the hologram in front of him. “I thought you were calling me about a job, not some idealistic crusade.”

Radix Kane laughed then took a sip of some overpriced whiskey, probably smuggled to Nar Shaddaa by Veda himself. “You’re missing the bigger picture. And I know your fighting days aren’t over. A little porg told me about Coruscant. I heard you helped take down the Predator.” Kriff! How did he find out about that? “And don’t forget, I know you’re running around with that Jedi girlfriend of yours on these do-gooder missions.”

“First, she ain’t my girlfriend. Second, we took out your main competition on Corellia. You and Rango are makin’ a lot of money off of that.“

”That you did,” Kane smiled back. “And I gave you a partnership interest for that, so you’re making a lot of money off of that, too. And now you’re going to Comet Chaser to see what these outer rim remnants are planning.”

”Still not selling it,” Veda responded, a scowl on his face. “But fine. I’m submitting my expenses for this one.”

Now

Veda sipped his ale, listening to the spacers, bounty hunters, former soldiers, somebodies, nobodies, everybodies, argue over nonsense. The Trade League was dead. The Sith had made sure of that. And if they hadn’t, the Galactic Alliance would have. Maybe the ”good guys” would have taken a more diplomatic approach, but they wanted autonomous worlds outside of their control about as much as the Empire did. Everyone thought they knew what was best for everyone else. Big government, regulations, trade restrictions, constant wars that barely moved the needle. The good news was that Veda had become quite rich over the years navigating outside of those barriers. So who was he to complain?

He recognized a few of the faces in the crowd, others were new. Veda knew the “important” people were convening elsewhere — Kabal maybe? At least Kane hadn’t sent him there among the governors and diplomats. As much as he hated to admit it, he did fit in here with this group on Comet Chaser Station. He’d even worked alongside — or opposite of — some of these folks in the past.

For now, Veda kept his mouth shut. He wasn’t interested in dying for some foolhardy rebellion. He’d done that when he was younger, and he was lucky he was still alive today to forget about those dumb decisions of his youth. But Radix Kane was right. It was wise to keep an eye on what was developing out here. The League of Autonomous Worlds. He chuckled to himself and took another drink.

Objective 2: Where There's a Will

Jacen gave Inhye Oh-chai a kind smile from across the room. It’d been some time since he’d been to her neck of the woods, but she was a regular stop in the Trailing Sectors on his way to Seswenna. Her pledge was a good sign already and he looked forward to connecting with she and her homestead once again.

“I can fly shipments, like Miss Oh-chai’s,” Jacen offered. She was just one farmer, and he one pilot, but there were billions of people in the Outer Rim. If they each played even a small part, well… this LAW might not be such a pipe dream. “We can organize into flotillas like we did under the Trade League, move in packs with escorts guarding the freighters. The Sith won’t waste their time on civilian ships, but pirates and slavers will.” Some captains here were much better suited for defending fleets than running sacks of grain. BR-8 cane to mind, and Pal Veda looked the type as well. He wondered who, if anyone, would volunteer to represent the Alliance.

Jacen’s first pick would’ve been Aeshi Tillian naturally, but she was among the countless names of Spacers who had been missing since the attack. Knowing her, she was holed up on a bulk freighter laying low until the storm was weathered, but that didn’t give them what they needed in the meantime. Jacen was never one for titles and power. Even “Captain” felt like a misnomer outside of formal meetings such as this.

With the way Kaia’s life took its beginning, the young woman was finding it heartening to see so many beings out here, unifying along the Rim. She was a Warden of the Sky and that meant keeping an eye on folks out here. Bringing what she could to worlds that needed it. Recently starting with the instruction of her cousin as a Warden.

When she looked up at the gathered again, she noticed Django and gave the man a nod. She recognized the patches. Ranger Corps. RTL. One of her people. Kaia had been in the RTL, but she was away during the run of the Sith, off doing her own thing, her Jedi thing. One of the reasons why she was less Jedi, and more Warden now. Here to help.

“I can support getting to Susevfi. I can call my brother, he’s more the fighter. But we get there… link back up to whoever remains?” She tossed a nod at Django, then back to Terrik. “And we may even have more people with the right motivation to help. Calm discussions, until the armored one stepped in… Mandalorian. Oh, Guild.

“Spacers do what we do, beratna,” she nodded to him, falling into an old pidgin that she worked to get rid of when she was in trading ports.

Tossing a look to her cousin, and protegee, Iona hadn’t been in the Rimward space, less the politics. But when the farmer and Jacen started speaking, Kaia spoke again.

“Starchaser Enterprises has a few different offerings for ships. I know a few members of the Underground and some Rangers who got out. I feel we could make a small floatilla to protect our ships if we need it. Corvettes, and frigates.” She had an idea there was probably one carrier out there.

“If you all are interested. Armed protection when its needed. Allow the lightly armed transports to operate as close to legal as they can, to avoid Sith, but have people who can come in to privateer the pirates out of our way.”

She tried to not think like her father, but it was hard.

Being late, Iona had zero idea what her cousin was speaking about. It seemed more to the teenager that her cousin was pitching Starchaser Enterprises more than anything else. Which was fine. It was the big family business after all. Also decently known in this area of the galaxy. During her travels she had ran into a few folks that had questioned her last name. This caused her to sometimes not use it - certainly depended on the situation.

"The Sith are out here?" Iona whispered to Kaia Starchaser .She knew the Dark Empire was on the top of the Tingel Arm but what else was out this way? Iona cursed herself for not knowing more. She would have to study her star charts better in her free time. Most of her free time had been spent with Balun Dashiell lately, co-piloting on his vessel, the Liberty's Edge.

"What're we talking about?" Another whisper, trying not to disturb the group as a whole.

Aboard the Council Presidential Consular class cruiser the "Kinroa" its diplomatic red painted hull emerged from hyperspace as Sâs Pen'kar sat in the luxury pod and looked over reports, gene readouts, and other important things as the ship landed in the designated docking bays. Sâs Pen'kar had found his way to the meeting after a few of his larger contracted clients went dark with the Sith invasion. The Neo Kaminoan's council finally decided that action had to be taken for the Sith would roll over any single independent system. So the Neo Kamino Council President Sâs Pen'kar set out to see the terms that would potentially ensure the long term survival of his people. Sure they had the Kartuno Abyss that kept almost everyone away from the Neo Kamino system but that wouldn't last forever.

After traversing from the dockyards with two clone security troopers and his deputy of the council the female Kaminoan Pamo Zea. Arriving in the governmental chambers his delegation talks with security and the group of four make their way to a senatorial pod. It seems the meeting had already begun so Sâs Pen'kar waited until an opportunity arose to speak.

"Hello all, I am Council President Sâs Pen'kar. I speak on the behalf of the Neo Kaminoans. We have for centuries been content with providing quality clones & gene editing to a wide range of customers... But the Sith order has shown that it wants nothing more than the galaxy to be its shackled slave." He pauses to let the words set in "I am here to see what can be done, and if terms are amenable pledge our clone army to the cause of freedom from the Sith Orders Yolk."

Perhaps the speech wouldn't be too much. But then again almost no outsider had been to his home planet so rumors had always swirled if it was real or not.

“Clones…?” Aerin half-repeated, half-asked. She hoped that no other member of the Council wished to speak, as her response came quickly to the notion. The First Administrator thought for a moment, then rose her eyes to see the Neo-Kaminoan leader. “We would certainly have to discuss the logistics and legality of a cloning operation, or a genetics program in general.” She looked to one of the many protocol droids nearby, who began interfacing with a terminal on the lower deck of the Consulate floor.

Cloning programs were illegal in the Core, but those laws didn’t reach nor include nations in the Outer Rim. But to this date, the only factions making use of clones were the Imperials and independent warlords struggling to field their ranks from local stock. Beyond the connotation, there was the simple fact that clones lack traditional autonomous control; they’re bred for a purpose, and usually must serve it.

“Yes, the LAW Council would be willing to discuss this with Neo-Kamino, but a separate session to do so would be best. I feel a dive into the ethics of cloning an army to right oppressors might derail what we hope to accomplish here.” The protocol droid would communicate a range of dates for which a session could be hosted, pending Sâs Pen’kar and his associates’ availability

Sâs Pen'kar stood in the pod for a moment as there was whispers almost others before Aerin responded

“Clones…?”

He blinked for a moment thinking of the galactic basic words "Yes clones. Melodie Offshoots to be exact." Then she continued in a logical direction.

“We would certainly have to discuss the logistics and legality of a cloning operation, or a genetics program in general.”

He nodded back "We have a Melodie offshoot client state, the clones are not as modified as the clones of the ancient Galactic Republic. And most definitely not the brain washed clones of the Sith Order. They are modified to be more resilient, stronger, and faster. But that is more to go against the galaxies greatest threat." Aerin Denno then spoke further.

“Yes, the LAW Council would be willing to discuss this with Neo-Kamino, but a separate session to do so would be best. I feel a dive into the ethics of cloning an army to right oppressors might derail what we hope to accomplish here.

The words were acceptable enough, the Sith Order didn't bother with rules and actively make their own. In history ones like that wind up being the winners in such conflicts. Sâs Pen'kar bowed before replying "This is acceptable. Thank you for hearing us out."

A significant span of years had passed since the Confederacy of Independent Systems exerted control over the planet Geonosis. Although they offered a degree of protection against external threats and the disruptive forces of Chaos, this alliance ultimately succumbed to failure and the Archduke could predict with some certainty that the League of Autonomous Systems would share a similar fate in due time if all they were riding on was some abstract concept of hope and success without having a solid plan in place to defeat the Sith Order whose legions outnumbered them ten to one.

There were many points to consider, such as those by Xitli Sacul , who offered a wide range of support for the new government including upgrading and overhauling Laphisto fleet and military arm with the assistance of the Geonosian Manufacturers. He had heard of the Order's fighting prowess but it remained to be seen if they could handle even a short incursion by one of the sith's legions.

Corbin Vasher , representing the Rimward Trade League, was amongst a general consensus that the establishment of a military force ought to be contemplated prior to any additional measures being undertaken by the League Government at this juncture.

<< Administrator Denno, although you currently possess the backing of the Geonosian Government, I must express my reluctance to yield to nebulous ideas such as hope or the misguided belief that we can prevail against the most formidable Super Star Destroyer in the galaxy's history. >> Brachtor took a brief pause to allow his words to resonate, recognizing that the absence of a concrete strategy to overcome the Mors Mon would inevitably lead to the League's downfall in combat, even if they were to muster a minimal task force.

<< Until your proposals are thoroughly substantiated and devoid of ambiguity, the Geonosians will not acknowledge any terms or conditions you may impose for our participation in this new movement. >> The Archduke uttered through the microphone at the First Administrator whose dismissal of the Council's proposals and concerns was the final nail in the coffin. Ultimately, he was a pragmatic person, and if the League could not devise a viable policy, then it was not deserving of his attention; consequently, he departed without uttering another word.
