LASTWALL
INTRODUCTION
The Lastwall is a loose coalition of disparate organizations, military units, and force sects that have united in the face of a common enemy and in support of a common goal. They have seen the Jedi rent apart by claws that rip and tear through flesh with ease. They watched as the Sith fell beneath a thousand gnashing teeth. As the Galaxy spirals ever onwards towards darkness - as alien horrors and aberrations consume System after System in a ceaseless hunger - the multitudes have risen together and heeded the call of Lastwall. They understand that Lastwall is a bastion of Light in a Sea of Darkness. They understand that there's is a vigil that has only just begun. This disparate coalition is the Lastwall that stands between the consuming horde that has claimed the Eastern Systems and the very Soul and People of the Galaxy.
Organized into sections as a means to streamline their effectiveness and ensure some Order of the Chaos that is brought about by the vast differences in the multitudes - Lastwall consists of multiple moving parts, each overseen by an individual Precentor or Tribune, ultimately answerable to the Watcher-Lord. It is the uniqueness and the capabilities of these different sections that when brought together form a cohesive whole that has set aside their differences for a common goal and ultimately, the greater good of the galaxy.
GOALS
- Provide a Determined Opposition Against the Bryn'adul | Lastwall's first and foremost reason for existing is to establish a vigil, a 'Lastwall' between the Eastern Systems - which have largely become consumed by the Bryn'adul onslaught - and the rest of the Galaxy, specifically the territories of their immediate neighbors, the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Silver Jedi Concord. With their primary operational theater consisting of Wild Space, Hutt Space, and the Abrion Sector.
- Defend Systems from further Bryn'adul Atrocities | Their second reason for existing is to prevent the further encroachment of the Bryn'adul outside of the Eastern Systems - with a first step policy of containment to prevent further expansion. This goal is further supported by the Lastwall effort to evacuate Systems in immediate peril and relocate Refugees to safer systems to deprive the Bryn'adul of any consumable biomass.
- Recover Systems lost to the Bryn'adul | Their third reason for existing, the reclamation of those Systems currently consumed by the Bryn'adul. Their focus with this goal is to push the Bryn'adul back from those territories that they currently hold, so that the systems may be reclaimed, terraformed, and otherwise repaired as to make them suitable for living.
ORGANIZATION
As mentioned, Lastwall is organized into a series of internal formations for easier utilization and management of assets in any given theater. These sections are as follows:
LASTWALL MILITIA | A military force that has served alongside the Vigilants for countless eons - dating back to a time when cavalry charges reigned and swords clashed in thunderous applause. They stand as the backbone of a great host that endeavors to fight for the greater good - they are organized into two specific branches: The Militia Corps and the Militia Fleet.
THE VIGILANTS | An ancient Force Organization that has existed on the planet Lastwall since time immemorial. They are dedicated to what they call 'The Path of the Bendu', solely focused on bringing and maintaining Balance within the Force and within oneself. Unlike other Force Sects and Orders, the Vigilants have eschewed such things as Chapters and Factions - believing that they take away from the focus of Balance and the Path of the Bendu.
LASTWALL CRUSADERS | Less of a knightly order and more of a cohesive coalition of varying military units, knightly orders, and organizations that have been drawn together and joined in a common cause. Many have joined due to altruistic means and a sense of righteous justice and valor to lay their lives down in the defense of good - while others have joined for glory and to make a name for themselves, or to merely survive and make a credit or two at the end of the day. There is a number of lesser-known Crusader groups, as heraldry, banners, and standards are almost too innumerable. However, there are five well-known Crusader forces that draw their fair share of followers - both true believers and profiteers alike.
KNIGHTS OF LASTWALL | The closest thing to a chivalric order among Lastwall - they are an order that is almost as ancient as the Vigilants and it is their heraldric symbol that Lastwall has adopted as its own. Their members are well known for standing strong in the face of overwhelming odds and never shy away from a battle. With their original purpose lost to history, they have since reorganized and reformed to face a newer, grave threat to the Galaxy.
THE HELLKNIGHTS | The newest organization to have joined the Lastwall Crusaders and bolstered their organization with a host of new allies. They can trace their history to the now-forgotten Knights of Kal'Shebbol and are the most recent iteration of that ancient order. Theirs is a desire to see the promulgation of law spread across the Galaxy, though they reorganized and integrated with Lastwall - seeing a greater threat upon the horizon than just chaos and lawlessness.
SISTERS OF THE SUNBURST | Followers of an ancient religion, they venerate a deity they call 'The Lady of Valor'. Theirs is an order that espouses such ideals as righteousness, valor, and selflessness in the face of adversity - and self-sacrifice in the defense of good. They are known to actively confront and stamp out Slavery wherever they discover that most vile of institutions.
THE BLACK SHACKLES | Strange times call for strange alliances - and no such thought is better represented than in the Lastwall Crusaders. For if the Hellknights are the Paragons of Law and Order, then it is the Black Shackles that are the antithesis. A coalition - in the loosest of terms - of any manner of pirates, scum, and villainy that the Galaxy has to offer. They joined the Lastwall Crusaders after realizing one truth - there can be no freedom if the galaxy has been consumed. Much like the Sisters of the Sunburst, they are known to fret out Slavery - though often they recruit the slaves and turn them on their would-be masters.
THE GREEN FAITH | An organization that was thought lost to the deepest reaches of the Unknown Regions - they sought to combine technology and Vongforming in the pursuit of their beliefs. They hold a strict tenant of balance, specifically, the fragile one that exists between nature and civilization. Among their members are a group of Force Sensitives that call themselves 'the Emerald Enclave', druids that seek to utilize technology and Vongforming to repair and replenish those systems that have been consumed and destroyed.
