LASTWALL

INTRODUCTION

Lastwall stands as a final bulwark between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the ravenous Horde that is the Bryn'adul. A loose coalition of disparate forces that have gathered together and united in opposition against a common enemy; they have seen the Jedi and the Sith fall beneath the gnashing teeth and tearing claws - and with the Galaxy spiraling ever onward towards oblivion and the threat of consumption by such a ravenous horde, the common denizens of the Galaxy have risen up to proclaim 'No More'. They see Lastwall as a bastion of light in the darkness and understand that their's is a vigil that is only just begun. Lastwall stands a disparate coalition seeking to draw a line between the Eastern Systems that have already been consumed and the remainder of the Galaxy that still stands.

As a means to bring some semblance of order from the chaos, Lastwall is organized into various sections to further streamline its own effectiveness and prevent overlapping or animosity between these internal organizations. Each section is overseen by a Warden or Justiciar, ultimately answerable to the Watcher-Lord of Lastwall. It is the uniqueness and capabilities of these differing internal formations that when brought together form the cohesive whole of Lastwall - effectively setting aside their differences for a common goal and ultimately the greater good in serving and protecting the denizens of the Galaxy.

IN CHARACTER GOALS
  • Provide a Determined Opposition Against the Bryn'adul | Establish a Vigil and Lastwall over the Eastern Systems - which have largely been overrun by the Bryn'adul - and the greater remnant of the Galaxy. Specifically, they seek to provide a bulwark between the Bryn'adul and their immediate Galactic neighbors consisting of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Silver Jedi Concord - with their primary theater of operations being Wild Space, Hutt Space, and the Abrion Sector.

  • Defend Systems from Further Bryn'adul Encroachment | Contain the encroachment of the Bryn'adul on further independent systems - those not currently under the influence of a Galactic Government or the Bryn'adul as a means to prevent further expansion. Also, support the efforts of evacuating and relocating of refugees from Systems in-direct threat of Bryn'adul expansion to safer systems as a means to deprive the Bryn'adul of consumable biomass.

  • Recover Systems lost to the Bryn'adul | The reclamation of lost systems claimed by the Bryn'adul through the coordinated efforts of minor stellar governments, independent operations, and organizations, and larger Galactic Governments. Focus on the expulsion of the Bryn'adul from these systems to begin operations focused on the reconstruction, terraforming, and repopulation of these systems.

OUT OF CHARACTER GOALS
  • The establishment and expansion of additional stories and lore focused predominately around the struggle of survival and defeat of the Bryn'adul
  • The further advancement of stories, lore, and codex based submissions focused on Wild Space and the Eastern Systems
  • Provide a means for further inspiration to assist in the development of other writer's ideas, characters, stories, and submissions
  • Further, drive the Story of Chaos and look towards the events and future of the Easter Systems 'After' the Bryn'adul

INTERNAL ORGANIZATION

As mentioned, Lastwall is organized into various internal organizations and formations to streamline as well as provide ample opportunities for additional roleplaying styles and characters to suit any role and idea that you may have. These internal organizations are also utilized to further maximize and provide easier utilization of resources in a given theater while providing inspiration for further development. They are as follows, the Lastwall Militia, the Vigilants, and the Lastwall Crusaders.

ReoCEYk.png

LASTWALL MILITIA | The primary military force that has served and operated alongside the Vigilants since time immemorial - dating back to a forgotten time of cavalry charges and swords clashing against armor. They stand as the backbone of a great host that endeavors to ensure that the light of the galaxy is not extinguished. They are organized into specific branches each with its own roles: The Militia Corps, the Militia Fleet, and the Militia Starfighter Corps.

THE VIGILANTS | An Order of Hermits and Force Adepts that have existed on Lastwall since the discovery of the ancient Sunwell Hermitage. They are dedicated to what they call 'The Path of the Bendu' and maintain a tenant of bringing Balance to oneself and the Force. Unlike other Force Orders, the Vigilants have long since eschewed the use of such things as Chapters and Factions - believing that they take away from the focus of Balance and the Path of the Bendu.

LASTWALL CRUSADERS AND ADDITIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

Less of an organized Knightly Order and more of a cohesive coalition of vying military units, knightly orders, and organizations that have been brought together under and joined in a common cause. While there are those that have joined out of an altruistic reason or belief, just as many have joined in search of wealth, fame, and glory. There is a number of major organizations and lesser-known Crusader groups, as heraldry, banners, and standards are almost too innumerable to properly identify and check for legality or provenance. As such, the most well known of the Lastwall Crusader organizations are mentioned below - with each drawing their fair share of true believers and profiteers as well.

kayc1o9.png

THE KNIGHTS OF LASTWALL | The closest in terms of a chivalric order among the Lastwall Crusaders - they are an order that is almost as ancient as the Vigilants and it is their heraldric symbol that is utilized as the symbol of Lastwall. Their members are well known for standing strong in the face of greater opposition and overwhelming odds - never once shying away from a battle in which they are outnumbered. While their original purpose has been lost to history, they have since reformed and reorganized to face an even graver threat to the Galaxy.

THE HELLKNIGHTS | The most recent addition to the Lastwall Crusaders that have bolstered their numbers further with a host of new allies. They trace their origins back to the long-since forgotten Knights of Kal'Shebbol and are the most recent iteration of that ancient order. Theirs is a desire for the promulgation of law, though they have reorganized and merged with Lastwall out of necessity, seeing a far greater threat upon the horizon beyond mere lawlessness or chaos.

SISTERS OF THE SUNBURST | Followers of an ancient religion, they venerate a long-forgotten deity that they call 'The Lady of Valor'. Theirs is an order that espouses the ideals of righteousness, valor, and selflessness in the face of adversity - with an emphasis on self-sacrifice in the defense of good. They are known to abhor slavery, actively confronting and stamping out the institution wherever it exists in the Galaxy.

THE BLACK SHACKLES | In the direst of situations - the strangest of times call for the strangest of alliances, and no such thought is better represented in the Lastwall Crusaders. If the Hellknights are the embodiment of Order, it is the Black Shackles that are the antithesis and serve as a counter-balance of sorts. A coalition - in the loosest of terms - of any manner of pirates, scum, and villainy that the Galaxy has to offer. They joined when they realized a singular truth - there can be no plunder in a Galaxy consumed by a ravenous horde. Much like the Sisters of the Sunburst, they are known to fret out and destroy slavery - often recruiting former slaves into their crews.

THE GREEN FAITH | An organization once thought lost to the Unknown Regions - they sought to combine Technology and Vongforming in the pursuit of their beliefs. They hold to a strict tenant of balance, specifically, the fragile balance that exists between Civilization and Nature. Among their members are Force Adepts called 'The Emerald Enclave', Druids that seek to utilize Vongforming and Technology to repair and replenish Systems that have been consumed or destroyed.

DIREWOLVES | A paramilitary organization that has ties with the Confederacy of Independent Systems - the Dire Wolves consists of an elite cadre of commandos supported by their own manufacturing production capabilities lead by Freebirds Industries. Stationed out of their mobile headquarters, the Dire Wolf-class Star Destroyer 'The Hope', they specialize in security, special operations, and civilian search and rescue.

ADDITIONAL OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

THE FUTURE OF LASTWALL

The question of the future of Lastwall has centered around and often poised as 'And what's the plan for when the Bryn'adul are inevitably gone?', and it is a fair question to ask - what will happen when ultimately, the primary driving force and enemy that saw the creation of Lastwall is gone, what next? The answer to that question is R.R.P. - A three-step process to see to the future activity of Lastwall when the inevitable happens and their primary foe is no longer a primary threat.

  • Reclamation | The reclaiming of Systems that had previously been under the control of the Bryn'adul for the sole purpose of removing any remnants of the Bryn'adul and begin the process of restoring those planets that have seen extinction-level events levied upon them - with a focus on the combination of Terraforming and Vongforming to repair the Biosphere and ultimately prepare the Systems for the section step.

  • Reconstruction | Once these systems have been reclaimed - the harder process of reconstruction begins - with a primary focus on rebuilding the systems for the eventual return and repopulation of native species. This also would include the formation and installation of new Planetary Governments, establishment of Lastwall outposts and bases, and operations to prevent corruption, exploitation, and enslavement of native populations by outside sources.

  • Preparation | With the Bryn'adul gone, what is the reasoning for Lastwall to remain a cohesive organization with any additional influence on those regions it sought and ultimately succeeded in reclaiming? That is the third step - Preparation for the next terror that might issue forth from the power-vacuum that is likely to form with the eventual collapse and expulsion of the Bryn'adul. Lastwall would remain to prepare for the next Extra-Galactic or Interstellar Incursion of enemies that would ultimately threaten the Galaxy - as seen in invasions lead by the Yuuzhan Vong, Nagai, Tof, Silentium, and Abomanor species.

CLOSING STATEMENTS

Lastwall, in its entirety, is a catalyst for ideas - a means to act as a springboard for others while also maintaining and containing its own stories, adventures, and paths. A culmination that pulls inspiration from a number of previous Minor Faction and Subfaction Ideas since the inception of the Knights of Kal'Shebbol and is intended to provide a place in which a myriad of writing styles, characters, and stories can evolve and develop at their own pace and course. It provides a base to work off of - in the means of the Militia, Vigilants, and Crusader Orders - while also remaining open to those that have their own idea or organization in mind and would like to explore it in a secure place that can provide allies and confrontation alike. With a focus on an Anti-Bryn'adul stance, Lastwall also serves as an official Subfaction of the Confederacy of Independent Systems - though focuses more on Wild Space, Hutt Space, and the Abrion Sector to prevent further encroachment of the Bryn'adul upon the CIS and the Silver Jedi Concord.

What sets it apart from other factions - effectively its niche - is its customization potential, its established enemy, and effectively, a planned and thought-out further for once its primary adversary no longer exists. It provides many routes for an individual to explore, from a simple Militiaman attempting to survive against murderous Lobstermen - to a Force Adept seeking balanced between Nature and Civilization as they work on rebuilding destroyed systems held by the Bryn'adul. There is something in Lastwall for everyone, from the staunch Law and Order to the Scum and Villainy of the Galaxy - Lastwall provides a means to view the relationships that develop in the direst of situations between the strangest of allies.
