Last Keres (II)

Keres II
Following her habit of never really leaving the Empress Teta system, except maybe once or twice when pressed, Lily happened to be, today, standing beside her sister, [member="Rose Kuhn"], inside a hotel lobby, waiting for the attendant to realize the two of them were standing there - which was coincidentally why she cleared her throat and glared at him. "Oh, I am so sorry! How can I help you two ladies this evening?" The middle-aged man said, visibly surprised while he spoke in a manner befitting someone meant to talk to customers and the like. "One room, please. Whichever room has the biggest tub is the one we'll take." She quipped, ignoring her sister's earlier demands for separate beds this time around as she almost began to daydream about soaking her aching, freezing, joints beneath hot bubbles. It was rather surprising to find that the planet known for its lack of a moon and below-freezing temperatures, as well as its expansive carbonite mine, would have environmentally sealed buildings, much like the mining facilities, for the corporate guests who came to do business with the mining company that practically ran the planet - it had a complete lack of tourism, after all. "Ah, yes, room three 'o eight, it's the third floor down, there's a turbolift to your left, and the eighth room on the right. Generally it would be called a honeymoon suite, but seeing as how we're on Keres..." The man rambled on, waving them off after sliding the pen-key to her.

Practically skipping down the hall in anticipation of her comfortable bath - in which she would try to worm more words out of her otherwise silent sister, who was likely staring daggers at her as she was dragged down the hall - Lily pulled her sibling along with a bright smile on her face. She'd came wearing business attire rather than her normal set of clothing, which usually consisted of her casual outfit that she had been wearing a few days ago on Teta, and silently wondered how proud her father would have been of her for securing a minor contract with the mining company on Keres for the carbonite they mined in return for a few cargo freighters built to their specifications - which she would undoubtedly receive at their next meeting, which was also where Rose would be joining her tomorrow after they went out to lunch. "Don't look so depressed, Rose, you can get just as comfy as I can in that hot tub." Lily insisted, sliding the pen-shaped key towards the handle of the door, a red light shining on the receiver end and the door's handle itself before it slid open for the two to walk in.

She gazed at Lily, perhaps she had mistaken her look of anger for depression.

Rose did not mind sharing a bed with her sister, the two of them had done it before growing up and they likely would again, they were siblings after all and admittedly rather close. That didn't disturb or upset her at all, what upset her was that she knew she wouldn't be comfortable tonight. Her sister always always hogged the blankets.

If Rose wanted to get comfortable tonight, and not freeze to death, she would have to lock the covers down while her sister was taking her bath. Of course that was if she couldn't just order extra blankets from room service.

Her gaze took in the hotels atmosphere and she frowned slightly.

Lily had always been far more interested in the business aspect of things. Koros belonged to them both, but Rose had never truly cared to have a hand in operating it, much less establish contracts with other businesses. She was happy to help her sister, but Koros itself was neither her passion nor her hobby. The only reason she came to the company at all was because her mother had left it to her, and Rose loved her mother.

She stepped into the room, immediately eying the bed but first tossing her backpack into a large chair in the corner. The next moment she found herself flopping down and letting out a loud groan.

Rose hated traveling.

Locking the door behind them, Lily rolled her eyes at her sister's incessant whining. She was always so mad, so upset, so grumpy. Such a moody mean girl that just never had enough, or perhaps too much. She wanted her parents back as much as her sister, but sometimes it just became irritating that she was constantly losing her temper over the smallest of things. Maybe she just needed to calm down. Relax. It was partially why she dragged her out to this wretch. She'd been taking her time getting herself ready for a bath, taking care not to wrinkle her clothes as she took off the formal wear and stood leaning against the closet wall in her corset and undergarments, when she heard the thud of her sister against the bed and the resounding groan. Another eye roll. "Make yourself comfortable, when I get out of the tub I'm going to make you loosen up. You've gotten a little too strung up." Lily shouted, though not quite as loudly as she could have - her sister was barely fifteen feet away, after all. A few frustrating moments later and the blasted corset was hanging rightfully in the closet, her underwear folded neatly in the little hamper provided to them. "Are you sure you want to nap? Hot water does wonders for the skin, especially your hair." She asked while she walked into the bathroom, her hand turning the knob for the hot water and waited for it to fill.

There were, of course, several strange things that many probably weren't aware sisters sometimes did together after a certain age. There were still times they would have shared their bath at home - though to be fair they shared it and the tub was big enough for the two of them and then some, with enough distance for quarreling siblings to be far enough apart to not be pulling at each other's hair - and often times Lily made a conscientious effort to have her sister try to borrow clothes from her - citing her 'superior fashion sense' as the reason behind it. They were sisters, twins, not two roommates that shared a room. She shook her head at the notion of her sister going another day without relaxing like she had, and though she was often known as the most bitchy of the two - her sister was simply the Ice queen to her friends, if not simply because of her silence and glares - she often found herself enjoying this sort of time of day. Not much was better than laying in the tub with hot water up to your chin. She'd cozy her sister up later. When she was done pampering herself.

Rose only grunted at her sister.

She didn't strip herself, nor did she bother taking a bath, or rather she did not intend to do so. While her sister liked to pamper herself, Rose preferred to do things quickly. A shower in the morning would do, until then Lily would simply have to put up with any scent that she might be currently carrying, though it wasn't like today had been strenuous.

Briefly her eyes flickered over towards the windows.

This planet was drab, more drab than Coruscat and certainly more drab that Empress Teta. There were no beautiful lights, no bright sky displays, nothing that she could consider worth looking at. She frowned slightly, her read hair spreading out on the bed behind her as she swiveled to look at the ceiling.

A part of her hated this.

It seemed unnecessary, useless.

She understood and even appreciated Koros. She knew her mother had worked had at gaining it and the support of the Krath, yet the day to day runnings of the business seemed utterly boring to her, even mind numbing. There were so many better things to do with her time than attend a meeting. Honestly, they had enough money that they could have no hand in Koros at all and still be perfectly fine.

Father and Mother had made sure of that.

While her sister dwelt on their situation, alone, Lily slowly dipped her toes into the water and slid into the bath. "She doesn't know what she's missing." She muttered, her words turning into bubbles that fought their way to the surface as she sunk her head beneath the water. Her eyes closed and she held her breath, allowing her hair to flow around her head. After several seconds she brought her head up to the surface and took a deep breath while she gave thought to today, Rose and she, and their lives in general. She often did this when she was relaxing, albeit only in silence and the security of her own head, and the first though that surged to the forefront of her mind was that the two of them had, yet again, failed to locate their mother and father. Following that was something akin to jealousy. In their family there was a very obvious play of favoritism between their parents and the twins. Her mother far preferred Rose, someone who was as serious and dark and brooding as she had been, and her father made it clear that he would cherish the two as his most important connections. She had always had a deeper connection with her father for a reason, but for some reason she had always remained jealous of her sibling.

She couldn't understand why there was such a strong bond between mother and daughter and yet such a void between the other twin and the same parent. It wasn't quite rejection as it was.. ignorance? Her mother seemed oblivious to her even trying to get her attention. Ever since they were young it would be Rose that was carried, and she who would be left down on the ground. She had been told she was gifted, intelligent, but for all of these 'gifts' they seemed to be practically useless when her mother hardly acknowledged them for her. Alric and Silara had seemed happy that she was trying to get into Anaxes' military academy, to pursue a degree that would help her on her way to catching up with her father's accomplishments, but even with all of this, even with all of this unseen effort in a direction opposite of her gifts, the Kuhn couple disappeared. Of all the things to be left behind, she was given a verbal recording of her mother's apology. A coward so shrewd that she couldn't even face the two of them, and a mother so cruel that she would taunt her with her voice - a pretense of love, as far as she was concerned. It had stung, but not as badly as not being left so much as a peep out of her father's mouth, even in the metaphorical sense. There was no written will, no notes, no letters. He had walked away just as easily as their mother, and he hadn't even looked back once as far as she was aware. "Kark them." She whispered, submerging her now-red face beneath the water to rid herself of the tears.

Her sister would have to wait until she could maintain that image of rigidity.

Rose lay on the bed, her eyes closed, her hair tussled.

Tomorrow would be a new day, it would be a new day for Lily and her to grow, to learn. That was what Rose knew they had to do now. They had to show their parents, whether they were alive or dead, whether they were here or gone, that they could not only live without them, not only survive, but thrive.

It was all they could do really.

Eyelids folded open to reveal bright blue orbs.

She looked towards the bathroom. Rose knew that Lily was troubled by this, just as troubled as she knew. She knew that her sister was upset and that both of them would suffer without the guiding hand of their parents, but they could also grow. She knew that without Mother, without Father, they would be unimpeded in whatever they chose.

They were free.

Her eyes closed again and she smiled slightly, the first time in days. Rose had just come to the realization that every teenager did when their parents were gone. Alric and Silara had never been restrictive, though there had been rules, now...

Now there was nothing but her will.

As she bathed she, too, thought beyond her angst and depression, towards a romanticist view on the rest of her life. It was true, she could escape from the reality that she had been abandoned, that she could live larger than life, traverse the galaxy as only the richest could. But, as odd as it were, she was simple in her dreams. She dreamt not of riches, of wealth, for she had been raised on them, she had already knew their spoils and they had already been spent on her, rather when she did dream, it was of a wholesome troupe. Her parents, the twins, even their elder sister - together. She wished to spend the days with her father, either at work or at home, to simply know him better than she could ever had as a child. She wished to grow closer to her mother, to fill the gap that always was. But these were not meant to be, and she knew that, though she longed for it still. It would be the dream that was unattainable, the vision that would be forever barred to her.

So while she scrubbed and she washed she dreamed of other things, of a future that was of her own making, a future that would have been there no matter the circumstances, only obtained in a different manner. Like any teenage girl, she dreamed of that silly thing called love. For one such as she, an addict and an alcoholic, she most certainly did not share the same cynical view on the subject, rather Lily dreamed of what it would be like to be in such a state - hopelessly head over heels as her father had told her stories of. She surmised, from the gist of what he had told her, that, while he had been quite irresponsible before he met her mother, Alric and Silara had been the tale of two lovers from the start. She could have called it, if she were as naive as others her age, love at first sight - but she, like others, first thought it was money she had been attracted to. It wasn't until the night she had been declared dead, with her father, that she had discovered Silara had truly been so caught up in her father's life that not only had he caught her fancy, one which turned into a sort of secret relationship at first, but he had completely pulled her out of her comfort zone. She hadn't ever really known the full extent of her mother's role as a Sith, or Sith Lord for that matter, until she'd perused her mother's datacron.

Like her mother there was no filter in her head that barred her from species or gender, but unlike her mother she was not quite as liberal in her 'habits'. Not everyone caught her fancy, nor would she sleep with all that did. Lily had narrowed it down to being interested in both of the sexes, though somewhat more restricted than that. It was strange to talk about, even though it wasn't all that uncommon anymore. For a moment she wondered if her sibling had her first kiss just yet - curious as to whether she was alone in having still not had hers. Just as quickly as the subject of taboo had entered her mind, it was gone, and as it fled from her thoughts so did she from the bath, albeit quite slowly in comparison - she was certainly in no hurry to go bother the grump. "Hopefully she has relaxed a bit..." She muttered under her breath, toweling herself off after draining the tub. She contemplated sleeping as comfortably as possible, but she already knew her sister would likely push her from the bed if she did - something about blankets - so instead she settled on her pajamas, silk of course, and slipped out of the bathroom towards the bed. If she was lucky she could pounce on her sibling unawares.

Besides, she gave better massages than that thorny little punk.

That seemed an odd thing to her.

No one to decide her path. No one to choose for her. No illusions, nothing. It would all be up to her. All of the decisions, all of the choices, everything. She smiled slightly, her lips tugging upward in a rare outward display of joy. She liked the idea of it.

Being free.

There was something to it. The idea of freedom, of being beholden to nothing and no one. No parents to tell her what to do, no government, no caretakers or soldiers. No annoying guard droids. Only her and Lily, doing whatever they wanted whenever they wanted. She was sure there would be consequences, sure that they would eventually do something foolish, screw up, but for now...for now they were free.

Her eyes slid open, catching a glance of Lily slowly sneaking towards her. Rose didn't move, too ensnared in her own thought process. Their father had raised them with the structure of Tetan Society. They were high born after all, and both of them knew their manners on a hundred different worlds and a thousand different cultures.

To drop that...to throw that all away.

It was something that appealed to her. A spiteful vengeance of course, the simple revenge of a seventeen year old girl that had been harmed.

“Don't even think about it.” Rose said suddenly as she jerked her hand up and stopped Lily from pouncing on her.

Training with Aunt Vrag paid off.

A heavy sigh, of disappointment, left her lips and she stuck out her tongue. "Spoil sport." She said, crawling onto the bed beside her sister and quickly leaning against her. Perhaps if there was one thing to be grateful for it was that she had her at least for a little while longer. She didn't know when her sister would decide it was time to leave her behind - she already could tell she was growing restless - but even when she protested the hugging, squeezing, and all the other signs of affection it would still be shoved atop her like an unstoppable force. Besides, there wasn't much better than cuddling with her only friend. Even if they weren't quite "friends" in the traditional sense. "Stay put this time, I promise I won't go for the feet." She teased with a grin. She would have stuck her tongue out, but she knew a second display of such immaturity would likely be met with a slap in the face or something equally unpleasant. Or being pushed off the bed, which was usually the case. Perhaps her sister was better in every way when it came to the physical sense of things, but sisterly wrestling nearly always ended in a tie between the two - though she cheated with tickling rather than simply trying to overpower the brute of a twin.

And tickle she did.

"I saw a smile on your face!~" Lily declared, not quite sure what she had walked into when she saw the mischievous smirk. She didn't expect much but dry sarcasm out of Rose in return, but she tried to pin her sister to the bed anyways - this sort of rough housing always ended in their girl talks and Lily falling asleep rubbing her sister's shoulders or something similar. Though there was a time when Rose had been fed up with it and sat on her in mock triumph.. but they don't talk about that. "Is it a boy? A girl?" She teased as she poked here and there, tugging hair and clothes and tickling the side of her neck. "You hhhaaaavvvveee to tell me!" She groaned, pretending to be completely tortured by suspense. She really did wish to know what the reasoning behind the smile was, but part of her wanted her sister to be distracted enough so that she could keep her little hobby of trying to 'defeat' Rose. It was more fun than just asking, anyways.

Hands darted quickly, seizing her sisters wrists.

Once the two of them had been equals in every way, strength, force ability, everything, but now it was differnet. She had been training non-stop, learning to use the lightsabers her mother had given her and using the force more and more deftly. She had always been gifted when it came to the physical, and as her sister poked and prodded her Rose made sure that that fact was still very well known. She grasped her sister, holding her firm for a moment then tossing her head over heels onto the other side of the bed.

Within half a second Rose had situated herself half atop her sister, wrists pinned in place by one hand while the other hand poked her side. “Neither.”

Her voice was bemused.

Rose hardly ever thought of boys, or girls for that matter. Romantics had never really been considered...though there had once been that Tetan boy back at home her father had scared off. As it turned out he had simply seen Rose as a conquest anyway, part of what shaped her thoughts on romantics now.

The memory floated away from her and her bright blue eyes shifted down to her sister.

“I was thinking of the future.” Rose said tightening her grip slightly to ensure Lily wouldn't get away. “What we can do.”

The thump of being knocked over like a pinwheel against the bed on her back was not quite dissimilar to a pillow striking a wall. Both of them sounded somewhat along the lines of "poof" combined with a "thud", only she had her sister straddling her stomach with relative amusement. Not that Lily wasn't amused, this was quite a bit more fun that simply having her sister roll over and take the onslaught of tickling like she had long ago - it had been some years after all - and she got her answer almost immediately. "Oh? Really? And what can we do, thorny-pants?" She mused while her sister squeezed her wrists tightly, not exactly the most pleasant of feelings to be quite honest. For a moment she wondered if it would be going too far lighting her sibling's hair on fire - nothing major, just a few split ends - but she valued the arrangement of her face too much to find out. "Tell me, oh sister, what the future holds for us." Lily continued, mockingly. It wasn't quite so much odd to see her sister so into their future as it was unnerving - she liked to live in the moment, be larger than life, everything about thinking towards the future was completely against that train of thought.

There wasn't much she could do to get out of her precarious situation - Rose was every bit stronger than her, and flexibility aside there was no way for her to get her athletic sibling off of her.

With a lithe grace that had come from years of training, Rose let go of her sister and dragged herself off the bed. Her eyes shot towards Lily for a moment, her gaze shifting towards the view outside and her hand pulling her sister up and along with her.

She stood, moving away with quick steps and wandering towards the window.

Rose dragged Lily from her comfortable position on the bed and took her with, stopping as the two of them reached the large transparisteel fixture. The view was atrocious. This planet was a frozen ball of nothing but carbonite mines and a couple of small cities, and that was what they saw. Yet it was night time, and that was where Rose drove her sisters attention.

Among the stars.

“Anything.” Rose said simply.

The fact of that caused Rose to get goosebumps on the back of her neck. There had always been some form of control over them, some limits, something to hold them back. That was all gone now. With the disappearance of their family Rose and Lily could do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted.

“We can do anything we want. There are no rules. No ties. No binds. We can do whatever we want.” Rose sounded happy, happier than ever before. Her head turned to her sister, bright blue eyes glowing with eagerness, smile curling her lips. “Whose going to stop us?”

A future in which the galaxy was their oyster.

She could see it now, relaxing in a recliner in her best outfit that sat in a much larger and far more up-to-date and modernized Iron Citadel. She could be at the helm of one of the largest starship manufacturers to date, living the lifestyle of the young and the reckless - the spitting image of her father, with just a tad bit more grounding in her decision making abilities. The force, lightsabers, all of that would be secondary to her economic might. She might some day master the art of alchemy, but it would not be her dedication, her sole goal.

Rose should have been a motivational speaker - at least for her twin. Perhaps if she'd been spoken to like she was now, perhaps things might have started differently for their first step into the wild road of beyond. Regardless of her reservations, Lily listened to what her sister had to say with earnest. It was true, they could quite literally do as they pleased. "And what do you plan to do?" She inquired, genuinely curious - she wondered if Rose would travel in the footsteps of their mother, at least some of the way through, or if she'd go her own way, as it was already clear she would never choose the life of her father.

She thought for a second.

What would she do? There were many options, may solutions. She had no mind for numbers. No head for business meetings or economics, and she had absolutely zero interest in staying on Empress Teta while her sister ruled with an Iron Fist.

Lily no doubt would do just that. She would be an Empress to be admired and feared, but Rose had no interest in doing the same. Her sister could have Koros, could have Empress Teta. It would always be her home, but Rose had no intention of ruling it. For a moment she pondered, her eyes flickering over to her sister, then back towards the stars above Keres.

“I'm going to ensure that our name never dies” Rose said quietly, a smile falling on her lips. “I'm going to show that the Kuhn family is hardly passed its prime.”

Yes. She would show that their Mother and Father were only the start of something. "Were going to show them, Lily."

Rose was hardly one for taking a big stand, at least in the form of stepping up and doing something grandiose like accepting the responsibility that came with inheriting a planet and its infrastructure - it wasn't much of a discussion for as to whom would take over Teta in coming years, even if Lily had been less focused on being responsible. So while she spoke of such plottings, whether they be good or not, Lily eyed her twin curiously and wondered what she had in mind. Not allowing the Kuhn name to fade was something she had intended from the start, even if Titan had been stolen from the girls she would bring Koros into the forefront of the galaxy's attention and the Krath with it. The Kuhn name would live on beyond simply their parents or them - it would last as long as their family would, and then through history beyond that.

What her sister had in mind, however, didn't quite seem to resonate with her own ideas, especially as she hated the corporate lifestyle. "Just what do you have in mind, Rose?" She asked, genuinely curious. It wasn't every day her sister really held more than a two minute conversation with her, much less one that was in depth as this. While she waited for a more clear explanation she reached back behind her head to pull her loose hair into a ponytail, which she promptly tied into a bun with the hair tie that was around her wrist. As ever, even in situations like these, it was only obvious that she would have to maintain her appearance - even if nobody was watching.

There were lots of options. Lots of things that they could do. The Kuhn family name had long ago been synonymous with that of the Krath. They had been Sith. Powerful Tyrants who had ruled Empress Teta and systems beyond. Men and women whose names had brought fear into the hearts of their enemies.

That had faded as time went on.

Though their name was still one recognized, it was not held with the same breath of fear, not said with a hint of terror. Rose pondered, her fingers drumming against the side of her leg as she thought. Her eyes shifted from the stars down towards the dirty city streets, then towards her sister. Her' lips thinned, a smile tweaking at their very edge.

“Fear.” Lessons taught by her mother. “I'm going to make them fear us.”

The Jedi, the Sith, whoever got in their way. “You can have Koros. You can have Empress Teta. All I want is to see the fear in their eyes when I say my name.”

Her voice was filled with malice, her smile cruel, a spark in her eye that told of ambition. Rose knew what she would do with her freedom.

For a moment, just the slightest of moments, Lily thought that she had seem a girl who was independent of their parents, of their mother. Rose had seemed so confident, so proud, as though she was finally stepping out from their mother's shadow to pave her own path, but what she saw was anything but independence. For a while as her sibling spoke of power and fear, she saw her mother's face in her sister's eyes. Red hair, shimmering eyes, and that indescribable absence, like a missing piece of a puzzle, every time you saw her face. Of course Rose had branched out, she'd chosen to strive for herself rather than some imaginary man that purportedly ran the galaxy's most powerful organization of Sith and Imperials. The look in her sister's face was not quite disturbing, not for one living in Sith space so many years after the One Sith's original occupation of the Core, but it was unnerving to say the least. But at least her sister had found something to do that went beyond the norm, something to take her attention away from what was essentially the prologue to the rest of their life.

Lily, on the other hand - who was uncharacteristically quiet at the moment - was left to her own devices and not quite in the form of freedom and adventure. She never quite was the type to get her hands dirty, not in the same vein of what her sister would likely be involved in at least. "That is.. that's nice." She remarked blankly, not quite certain how she should respond in such a situation. Lily understood the nature of revenge, of unreasonable rage, and she could somewhat understand what her sister was doing from a psychological point of view - so ironic for a habitual pill-popper - but it didn't sit well with her, not on a personal level at least. But her sister was her sister, and she was free to do as she pleased. "I want to become a household name, too, but for slightly different reasons." Lily countered, quite aware of what her sister thought about their planet and company. "Not just rich, not just successful, I want Koros to become the main supplier for the victor in this galactic war - whether it be the Sith or the Republic, or even some other group. I want their fleets to bear our company crest, our home world's flag." She explained, pausing as she thought on another notion that had been nibbling at her all week. "And maybe I want to be the greatest in Alchemy, the Sith sort. I've always been rather good at it, at least the basics, so I think I'll be going on an extended vacation next weekend to pick up on that. Not that it will interrupt with the company or Teta's progress to becoming a galactic superpower again. Just an ambition, that's all."

Rose patted her sister's cheek affectionately, smiling at Lily. They were good goals. More specific than her own, more to the point. At least Lily had that, at least she knew exactly what she wanted to do instead of some vague declaration of strength.

“You'll have to be careful.” Rose said, knowing that her sister likely already knew this. “They'll be watching us, I think. Father never betrayed them, but Titan did. No matter what Empress Teta still lies in the very heart of the One Sith. They'll be careful with us.”

Of course that would hardly stop either of them.

No matter what anyone did or said to get in their way, Rose and Lily would endure and push on. It was just a matter of overcoming whatever stepped in their path. With the One Sith that could prove more difficult of course, though time would tell how the government would react to the two twins beginning their ascension.

Her gaze met the ground as her sister did exactly what she did best - which was horribly ironic considering her personality - and nodded her head quietly. Perhaps it wasn't a pep talk, but it was certainly better than a smile and a nod. Perhaps this was the difference between the two of them, Rose matured as life came to her while Lily tried her damnedest to grow up as quickly as possible. They were seventeen, the two of them should have been partying it up in some nightclub on Coruscant or gossiping with children their age in school. Yet one of the two was arguably an apprentice of sorts to an established Sith Lord and the other, herself, was practically running on full steam to keep a successful business going and manage an entire planet - though with a little help, of course. Their lives were so twisted, to have experienced having everything and then at the drop of a dime to lose it all. No, more than that. Family, security, safety - they were gone. Perhaps it didn't help that Rose had brought up their father's supposed death, it was something she was still struggling to cope with.

"I miss them so much.." She mumbled, her expression falling with a light sniffle and a quick wipe of her right eye. Glancing at her sister's face, however, she simply nodded. "I am going to end this nonsense, this fighting. The Republic, One Sith, Yuuzhan Vong, a name is a name - they all serve to provide fuel to the fire. I want to put that fire out. And if I cannot do that, well.. I'll have to use it to my advantage." Lily said quietly, perhaps even cryptically. She had a general idea of how the various governments that covered sectors operated, how they acted and what provoked them. She had no allegiance to them. If the opportunity presented itself... perhaps the cards would fall in her favor - or more accurately, in the favor of their folding. Rebellion? No. She saw the flaws of their idealism, she knew anarchy was simply not the way. There would be a new order, something to scatter the roaches that plagued the galaxy. Perhaps she was being idealistic, but she wanted to crush these war-loving societies into the dirt by any means necessary, even if it meant stomping them out herself.

Rose smiled at her sister.

“I miss them too.” She did.

Even with this new found freedom, with the idea of being able to do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted, Rose still missed her parents. She missed the way that her father had told them stories. She missed the way that her Mother had taught her. She missed how the two of them had stood on the balcony in a warm embrace and watched the Twins play in the Gardens.

Her eyes turned away for a second as she banished those memories, pushing them away in favor of the future. Bright glaciers returned to verdant forests as Rose peered at her sister. “We have each other.”

That was enough.
