Prosperity is seen most everywhere, and the carefully-built façade of a blissful and open society remains intact, despite the harsh conditions and desperate struggle of the planet’s lower classes.

GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
Government: Corporatocracy
Affiliation: Laranis System Protectorate
Wealth: High
Stability: High
Freedom & Oppression: The Laranis System Protectorate is the corporate-run government of the system. A deliberate and painstaking effort has been made to ensure the visage of a free and open society, widespread prosperity, and benevolent rule. However, this is all a mirage. The Protectorate is a ruthless conglomerate of the system’s most wealthy and powerful corporations, backed by a corrupt and powerful Protectorate Security, whose only concern is the acquisition and keeping of wealth and power. While on the surface, all appears well, the Protectorate ruthlessly stifles the pleas and cries of the lower classes – the workers and common people from whose labor they derive enormous profits. Those who try to rise are quickly silenced, and ‘disappearances’ and rushed kangaroo courts are not uncommon. Heavy fees and high costs of living, coupled with corrupt law enforcement, ensure that the common people stay in their place, all while their corporate masters play a life-and-death game, viciously rivaling one another for power and position, using every means available to climb the ladder towards dominion over the system.

MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
Military: The Protectorate Security is a well-funded and well-equipped paramilitary and law enforcement agency of soldiers, intelligence operatives, and bureaucrats whose ruthless tactics and ferocity ensure the Protectorate’s power and keep the engines of commerce and trade working to their advantage. Recruited from seasoned veterans, mercenaries, and bounty hunters across the galaxy, Security personnel enjoy high wages and privileges far and above that of the ordinary citizen, the price of their loyalty and service.
Technology: Laranis III is a thriving and modern world, able to avail itself of the highest and most current technologies available in the galaxy.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
As the “Laranis Gold Rush” as it became known, swung into its peak fervor, successful prospectors and miners sought to establish their corporate headquarters on the neighboring world of Laranis III. Already settled by farmers, with a mounting immigrant population, the wealth corporations established Laranis City. Later, an influx of Wookies began to settle the coastlines where they gave birth to a thriving fishing industry. Soon, Laranis III would be a prosperous and heavily settled world.

Becoming the capital of the Laranis System Protectorate in the wake of the Empire’s demise, Laranis would transform into a modern and sophisticated world, imbued with the technologies, amenities, and comforts which such wealth and position offers. For the corporate executives and legions of bureaucrats and office workers, the cities became as fine as any across the galaxy, while for the lower classes – their struggles and hardships were neatly swept under the rug, so to speak. Protectorate Security, a ruthless military and law enforcement organization recruited from hardened mercenaries, would ensure that the Protectorate’s power and privilege, and above all, its profits, would be secured by any means necessary. In the dense, congested working class towns and neighborhoods, just as on the neighboring mining world, life was different than the clean, sterile, seemingly happy world most visitors would see. High costs of living, strict enforcement of Protectorate rule, and long hours of backbreaking labor were the norm here.

So it would remain, century after century, as disparity widened and enforcement continued…

Dang! I really love the idea of this world, and it give a lot of RP potential, especially making someone who comes from there. Only have one thing about it. So you're system description is linked to a thread in a faction page. This means that not everyone is able to see it. Would you please either link a page that is view-able by everyone, or add a system description.

Good Evening,

Another good submission here. I just have a few points I wish to bring to your attention with this submission.

1) Unexploited resources

The language you use is a little vague here.

Unexploited Resources: None Known
Could you please clarify if you mean there are none, or there are yet some to be discovered.

2) Major Locations

I have copied the text from the template below.

Major Locations: [ What are the major locations on your world? Include an explanation on each. ]

Could you provide an explanation or description of the captial city so people know what they are dealing with when they come to RP in this location.

Thanks for reviewing this!

I linked to the "Laranis City" sub and gave a quick blurb. Also, I adjust the resources issue to reflect that there are none yet exploited.

Hope this works!
