Private Landfall

"You assume that comes from me being married," The cathar replies simply, sticking the poker into the ground once the logs within the fire are placed in a manner that pleased him. "No one liked a braggart back home on cathar. Mom raised me better than that. Quite frankly, I'm not certain Zlova would have even looked my way if I were the bragging sort. She's more for actions than words." There's a sadness in his eyes as he stares into the flames. Heartache.

Her next question causes a brow to arch. "Actually I've just always had liking for the color red. Then again us cathar see colors a tad differently from say...a human. Red's such a vibrant, pleasant color. I was neutral on lekku, though I'll admit they have grown on me." He shrugs. "Long as they're hers." A long yawn leaves him as he shakes his head. "I get tired faster than I used to." He leans back in his seat.

Jonyna watched as the sadness entered his eyes. That was familiar...

And yet, her cheerfulness shined through. She was good at hiding her own sorrow.

"Sweet Sylvar, do I know that feeling. Getting older sucks. What I'd give to be young and spry again. Hitting the clubs, getting laid on the weekends, without...ya know, responsibilities."

She looked up to the stars, lettting out a sigh. "So you ever gotten your heart broken? I did, while back. Mando girl I was with. She and I just...didn't see eye to eye, I think. Loved her to pieces, still do, but...I dunno. She wanted to be a legend among her people, and wasn't gonna take no for an answer on anything. I'm, like, already a legend, I guess. I wanted to slow down, and all she wanted to do was blitz. I was there for her when her planet was attacked, but when Cathar got raided by the Crusaders..."

Jonyna sighed. "She wasn't. Don't know how I feel about Mandos now. They've played with my heart too much, I think."
