Strengths:
- Incredible armament of assorted ordnance.
- Rather maneuverable considering size and armaments.

In the wake of the failed rebellion over Atrisia, in which the Sith-supported rebels attempted to combat the Galactic Alliance via assistance from rogue former Republic forces, security around the deep core has increased tremendously. Planets such as Coruscant, Empress Teta, and others have buckled down hard on their military budgets and have increased the level of security that is enforced to ensure that their safety is not jeopardized by essentially invading forces. Empress Teta - and its system - in particular have added more ships to its defense force, no longer relying solely on Alliance aid after seeing what had happened over Atrisia to the Alliance's main fleet.
The Lancer-Class is a large frigate that only carries ordnance, forgoing any other weapons, in order to fit a very niche, very specific, role in fleet engagements. Where other ships are intended to go almost blow-for-blow with each other, the Lancer-Class is designed to arrive after a conflict has already started and to unload its payload on opposing ships as quickly as possible to push the tides in its favor. The downside to this is, of course, the lack of any other weapons at all. Although the cluster bombs may prove somewhat effective on smaller craft, most starfighters and similarly sized ships will easily outpace the bombs and tear apart the frigate. The ship is, quite simply, designed to assault larger capital ships that will not be quite as quick to evade missiles or bombs.
Another slight strength is its maneuverability, which is slightly above par for a ship of its size and armament, but it is countered, somewhat, by a sluggish speed. A hangar is also absent on this ship, meaning no starfighters and small crafts will be able to be brought with it to defend itself - adding onto the weakness regarding a lack of defensive weapons to repel smaller crafts. The hyperdrive is also a class three hyperdrive, ranking a bit below average for most ships of this side - usually two.

Intent: To provide the defense force of the Empress Teta System with a line of frigates that are built to repel hostile forces in the wake of the Atrisian conflict.
Who Can Use This: Only PCs who belong to the Empress Teta System's naval defense force. No NPCs may utilize this starship, and this must be captained by a PC character.
