Siege Endurance - Designed for prolonged fleet actions and orbital sieges, the Kyramud-type can maintain peak combat effectiveness for extended durations.

Layered Defensive Doctrine - The combination of advanced armor composites, damage-reduction components, reinforced fins, redundant shielding, and extensive point-defense networks creates multiple overlapping defensive layers, forcing attackers to defeat the vessel several times over before achieving a true kill.

Carrier Support - Each of these vessels is designed with the form and function of providing additional support, with each craft capable of deploying a full wing of Starfighters - comprised of three squadrons - along with the capability of carrying an additional wing of Support Craft, such as shuttles or troop transports.

Psychological Warfare - The ship's sheer size, aggressive silhouette, and reputation for absorbing punishment and annihilating enemy capital ships frequently undermine enemy morale before weapons are even fired.

WEAKNESSES

Sluggish - Heavier armor plating, increased defensive capabilities, and the installation of smaller, less powerful engines to secure additional hangar capacity have resulted in a craft that is slower and less maneuverable than similarly sized Cruisers.

Vulnerability to Swarm Saturation - Although heavily defended, massive coordinated attacks by large numbers of starfighters, bombers, or missile platforms can overwhelm point-defense systems over time, especially when combined with electronic warfare.

Aft-Coverage - As many of the primary weapon systems are focused on the forward, port, and starboard firing arcs, these vessels have limited coverage towards their aft - creating a blind spot that is easily approached and exploitable.

Limited Tactical Withdrawal - Once committed to an engagement, the ship's low speed and maneuverability make disengagement difficult, often forcing it to fight through opposition rather than retreat.

DESCRIPTION

The Kyramud-type Battleship is a brutal manifestation of Mandalorian culture focused on overwhelming firepower, unyielding defense, and the relentless advance of heavy steel. Originally conceived as a line-breaker vessel, this updated variant refines the ancient Kyramud design with modern systems, reinforced armor composites, and expanded carrier capability, transforming it into a hybrid warship equally suited for fleet engagements and planetary assault operations. At eight hundred meters in length, the vessel's broad, angular profile is dominated by armored fins along its port and starboard flanks - distinctive structures that shield vital systems while mounting additional weapon emplacements and sensor clusters. This design aesthetic is reminiscent of the ancient Basiliskan design, and the ship resembles the Basilisk war droids used by the Mandalorian Empire. Its hull is layered with Mandalorian iron alloys and carbon-durasteel composites, allowing it to endure sustained bombardment while its redundant shield networks absorb punishment that would cripple lesser cruisers. In battle, the Kyramud-type functions as the spearhead of Mandalorian task forces. Its heavy turbolaser batteries and agrocite cannons are optimized for tearing down capital-grade shielding, while ion weaponry and missile systems cripple enemy subsystems before the killing blow is delivered. Dense point-defense coverage and missile countermeasures protect the ship from bomber swarms long enough for its embarked starfighters to launch and establish local space superiority. Despite its carrier capacity and extensive internal facilities, the vessel remains unapologetically slow and deliberate.
