Strengths:
  • Electromagnetic Plasma: The Kyr'am Vutyc (Death Special) works as a miniaturized electromagnetic plasma cannon. This weapon deals serious damage. It is able to tear through light armor with ease, medium armor with little difficulty, and do damage to heavy armor with a single shot. It is a very powerful weapon, and highly effective in the right hands.
  • Faraday cage: The Faraday cage on the Kyr'am Vutyc makes it immune/most unaffected by EMP and ion attacks.
  • Phrik: The Kyr'am Vutyc is made from Phrik, the durable metal is able to withstand blows from lightsabers, blasters, blunt damage, and blades with little effect.
  • Durable: Besides just attacks, the Kyr'am Vutyc is able to withstand some pretty awesome things too like sand in the firing chamber, mud, and other environmental hazards. She will take a licking and keep on ticking time and time again.
Weaknesses:
  • Kicks like an angry mule: This could be comical (From Darlyn smacking his face on accident if he is unprepared) to just bizarre (the weapon flying out of his hands from a weak grip). It's pretty inadvisable to use this weapon with one hand (even with the aid of the Force) since it can and will kick hard.
  • Heavy: The Kyr'am Vutyc is a heavy weapon, weighing almost an entire Kilogram more than the average blaster pistol. There are a lot of very heavy parts in this pistol that make it work and send damage down range.
  • Reduced fire capacity: Your average blaster pistol fires 100 rounds before having to have its gas canister changed out, the Kyr'am Vutyc only fires 50 times before needing its plasma canister changed out since it puts so much damage down range.
  • Grip: Ideally, the grip for a weapon of this calibur would have enough room for a second hand on the grip for extra security. The Kyr'am Vutyc doesn't. So the user will have to either use the "Cup and saucer" technique, which is considered by many gun users to be inferior or they will have to grip along the barrel and shoot form the hip. Either way has its draw backs and whichever grip the user decides, it won't change the reduced accuracy this blaster has.
  • Splash damage: When the EMPC round hits, it splatters, and that can be a serious liability if there are any friendlies standing near the target (unless you wanna replace your friendlies). But the range for this isn't too bad. The range is about 15 cemtimeters for the super heated splash to do some considerable damage, and going out from there it gets a little less dangerous and damaging to about 45 Centimeters where there is no real damage at all.
DESCRIPTION
Sometimes, when you give a man too much money and too little time, he will start to do dangerous things. The most dangerous of those things is contacting Ardgal Raxis at RMIA and paying/daring him to build you the "most powerful gun that you can be fired as a pistol."

And to that end, Ardgal got to work. First he started with his old favorite, the Electromagnetic plasma cannon technology. Its tough, its heavy, its able to send a lot of damage down range, and more than that, its been proven to do lots of amazing stuff.

After that since "money is no object" the warrior decided to make the entire thing out of phrik, just to both pad the bill, and up the stakes. After all, a gun of this caliber only deserved to be crafted from some seriously great stuff. When that was done, the warrior just went about making sure the signature over and under barrel mounts and Faraday cage were added to the weapon that RMIA is known for.

Now a gun like this has innate deficiencies. If we were to be honest, its too much firepower in a gun of its size, and that means a reduced accuracy and kick that can be just as dangerous to the user as the target. Second, its just too heavy and that is coming from a guy who is a cyborg super soldier. It is too heavy for its class and just too dangerous. Also the grip is just impractical. To elongate it would have been hard to impossible to store, and the way it is leaves just too little room to grip to effectively mitigate the kick.

All in all, its a personal gun for a government official with a cushy salary and a love of guns.

Just a few hiccups, and this'll be good to go.

  • Can you give me a ballpark estimate for the radius? A meter? A couple meters?

  • Shouldn't this be under Weaknesses?

@mention me with edits or questions.

I'm assuming the burns are for unprotected skin? Because there's no telling what kind of armor your opponents will be wearing, and thus what damage this will deal.

Just call it a super-heated plasma splash. Your writing partners will get to decide what happens with that.

At any rate, all units in the Factory must be in metric.

Fix these two things, and then I can stamp this. :)

Complete the above requests and we should probably be good to go.
