- Firestorm: The grenade spreads a thin layer of flammable gel in a wide 15-meter radius, which is instantly ignited by a combustion explosion. The resulting blaze can melt away a room or area, and very easily create a larger firestorm, conditions permitting.
- Total Destruction: The flammable gel is nigh-impossible to suppress or clean up; only special chemical solvents can disable it. With the fraction of time from spreading to igniting, most anything caught in the grenade's radius will be melted by the extreme temperatures. Even a vacuum cannot extinguish the oxygen-impregnated gel.
- Friend and Foe: Fire is a non-distinguishable agent, and anything caught within its blaze may be burned.
- Uncontrollable: Once ignited, the firestorm acts as any natural fire would, and may quickly turn destructive on its own, potentially harming or impeding its user.
The KWF-G4 Naast Thermal Grenade is a fiery complement to the Mandalorian arsenal. Jokingly referred to as a "firestorm" starter, it is perhaps one of the most destructive ordnances in the standard Mandalorian kit. The grenade dispenses a highly-flammable oxygen-impregnated WP-19 thermal gel over a 15-meter-radius. Once ignited, the flame, burning at temperatures reaching 3,500 kelvin, can melt through nearly all substances. Destructive in its own right, the flames can spread given an environment of flammable substances and helpful conditions; the hotter and drier the temperature, the higher the wind, and the concentration of flammable substances.
Fire is uncontrollable, and Mandalorians are instructed to exercise caution when deploying the Naast over any other ordnance, as the potential for collateral damage is at its highest. It is all but explicitly forbidden for use on starships for this very reason. However, trigger-happy as Mandalorians are, the best practice is to make sure your enemy is at a distance and then lob away from yourself as far as you can.
