GENERAL INFORMATION
Kwei Vatani is a Jedi Padawan of the High Republic, discovered on Hoth after her family contacted the Jedi Order to find a way for her to train. She studies amongst the Jedi of the High Republic, with a focus on exploration and environmental response work. Known for her preference for ranged combat and her skill with a traditional bow, she represents an unconventional but promising path within the Order.

Kwei was born and raised on Hoth, amongst a settlement where everyone felt far more like family than simple neighbours. Everyone depended on each other in the harsh cold, which caused everyone to feel incredibly close. Even at a young age, Kwei wanted to give back to her community, which is why the moment she was able to go out and hunt, she did! Though she did have an unsual request for her weapon of choice...An energy bow. She felt it would be far more comfortable for her to use as opposed to a blaster.HISTORY
It didn't take long for the community to notice that Kwei was more...unique than most. She had an ability to be able to sense animals through the snow, or was able to withstand weather that would have taken down even the most sturdiest of hunters amongst the community. It didn't take much more time before the community got in contact with a passing Jedi ship, requesting them to come and check over Kwei. And so she joined up with the Jedi! It wasn't a perfect story of course. She was passed from Jedi Order to Jedi Order as time went on, for various reasons. The most recent Order she arrived at was that of the High Republic's Jedi Order, being sent there after the invasion of Coruscant.
In recent days, as much as she is all bubbly smiles and warmth, Kwei has struggled in private. It is hard for her to be far from home, unable to contact them easily because of them being in the territory of the Sith. She does her best not to let it get to her however, as she instead relies on the new family she is making amongst the Jedi! Just means if the Jedi are meant to be her family, that she gets to be the annoying little sister.

APPEARANCE
Kwei is a young and bright girl with bright, vivid dyed pink hair that falls layers around her face, giving her a somewhat lively and energetic look. Her eyes whilst matching the icy cold blue of the planet she was raised on also carry a degree of warmth in them, doing their best to appear friendly and welcoming!
She has a slim, lightly built frame that suits her active, agile style of movement, playing into the fact she is always seen running around. Kwei usually wears loose, comfortable layers that give her a relaxed, casual look, favoring oversized hooded tops and soft fabrics that can handle travel and rough weather, as opposed to the traditional robes of a Padawan...Though she will begrudgingly wear them when required.

PERSONALITY
Kwei is bright, social, and easy to approach. She enjoys making people feel comfortable and tends to treat every new face like a potential friend. Her energy is warm rather than chaotic, shaped by her childhood and settlement she was raised where everyone relied on one another. She talks easily, laughs quickly, and carries an optimism that helps her push through difficult moments.
She is curious by nature and likes exploring, meeting new people, and learning about unfamiliar cultures. She tries to bring a bit of emotional warmth wherever she goes because she remembers how cold silence felt back home. Even so, she has moments of quiet insight and can read a situation well when she slows down and lets her instincts do the work.
She hates seeing anyone isolated or ignored. She tends to reach out even when she probably should give people space, which comes from a genuine desire to make sure no one feels alone.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
Natural Marksman: Growing up hunting across Hoth's open ice fields gave Kwei an instinctive sense for hunting, be that wildlife or otherwise. Whether she is using a traditional bow or a more modern ranged weapon, her shots are steady and purposeful, driven by the same quiet focus she learned from tracking wildlife in harsh weather.
Community Spirit: Kwei was raised in a settlement where survival depended on cooperation. She carries that mindset into the Jedi Order, taking an active interest in the well-being of those around her. She builds rapport quickly, supports group morale, and often becomes the emotional centre of any team she joins.
Long-Range Combat Focus: Kwei excels at keeping distance in a fight, keeping herself hidden, and providing support from afar. Her ability to anticipate an opponent's path gives her an edge in open terrain or chaotic environments, with her eyes being able to keep up with rapid movements
Conflict Avoidance: Kwei dislikes conflict between others and will often soften her own needs to keep the peace. When tensions rise, she may retreat emotionally rather than address the issue directly, which can lead to unresolved problems or bottled frustration.
Close-Quarters Hesitation: Despite Jedi training, she remains uncomfortable with lightsaber combat. Pressured, enclosed, or melee heavy situations can disrupt her confidence and force her into reactive rather than deliberate decisions. A calm and steady shot could turn into a series of inaccurate and rapid shots aimed down range
Overextension: Her desire to keep others supported can push her into taking on too many responsibilities. She struggles to set boundaries and risks emotional fatigue when she tries to look after everyone at once.
