SETTING INFORMATION
Structure Name: KSC Slave Camp
Classification: Slave Holding and Labour Camp
Location:

  • Thule

  • Malachor V

  • Rhelg

  • Bosthirda
Affiliation: Karazak Slavers Cooperative
Accessibility: These major KSC slave compounds are like miniature communities of their own. Each will be located out and isolated away from cities and villages alike. While offices and minor cells may be held in the bigger cities of their respective planets, the KSC camps themselves are private access facilities, open only to KSC officials or those with appointments agreed upon in advance. With the exception of the slave camp on Bosthirda, they are not hidden but guarded.

Security: While the security at the slave camps can be considered heavy, it is focused inwards against managing the slaves themselves, and not made with the intention of repelling outside threats. It is similar to what you might expect of a maximum security prison. The compounds are surrounded by walls, additional protection offered by turret and watch-towers at strategic locations. Armed guards patrol within, and a barracks hold a small group prepared for riot control.

Description: The KSC Slave Camps look from a distance like a big prison located out in the wild. In truth, this sums it all up. High walls enclose the camps, watchtowers mark the corners of the camp with two by the main gate. Unless arriving from the air, the main gate is the only other intended point of entrance. Normally the main gate would only be used when welcoming large groups of slaves, and the entrance area reflects this as it is a well-armed area aimed to introduce and prepare them to their once in a lifetime KSC slave experience. Guests and officials would be taken in by shuttle.

POINTS OF INTEREST
Command center: Each facility will have a command center that overlooks the rest of the compound. Communications go through here, camera feeds are sent here, and it is within this command bunker that the camp leadership will recide.

Barracks: A barracks hosts a moderate amount of guards. Made larger than necessary to provide an area for pastimes, a bunk area for those active on regular duty and another more isolated one made for those working night shifts, in an effort to ensure effective rotations. Contact with nearby settlement ensures access to reinforcements if needed.

Holding cells: These inside shacks house the slaves. Space and comfort and forsaken to fit as many as possible in together. Detention cells observe the opportunity to keep individuals locked up away from one another, but the norm is to hold the slaves in group. Diversity is ensured by separating those slaves with familial bonds, as well as making sure that not too many of the same species are held together if avoidable.

Open area: There is a semi-large open area at the center of the camps. It can serve multiple purposes, such as presenting a number of slaves to interested buyers, area for exercise, disciplinary action and executions.

Slave soldier training pits (Thule): While each slave camp come from the basic design, they also come with their own specializations. The camp on Thule is where the KSC train a majority of their Slave Soldiers. Dedicated areas are made to train the slaves in various forms of combat under the watchful supervision of their overseers.

Manufacture (Malachor V): The camp on Malachor V come equipped with its very own factory. Here many of the KSC’s products, such as their various slave collars are made. Random tests and quality checks ensure the equipment is not compromised. While the KSC production needs are not dependent on this, with their demands usually met by droid manufactories, it does give those poor souls something to do and prepare them for the more technical labour, in case potential buyers were interested in slaves for factory use.

Mining (Rhelg): The slave camp on Rhelg is known to produce most of the KSC’s miners. While there isn’t a ton to mine on Rhelg, it is not a land without opportunity, and they are trained and prepared to be effective in these duties.

Special experiments (Bosthirda): Possibly the most secretive of the camps, kept out of most records and outside of most KSC employee’s knowledge, is the slave camp on Bosthirda. The planet’s location itself is elusive, and was therefore deemed as the perfect location for the KSC’s scientific research facility. Safe to say, if your luck happens to run out and you end up a slave, this is definitely not where you wish to end up. Although who knows, maybe having three arms will come in handy some day.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Karazak Slavers Cooperative have been responsible for giving people work, food and a place to stay for centuries. Generally speaking it is of the forced kind, but nevertheless, there needs to be places to hold these people and that is the function these slave camps serve.

This need has in the past often been met by a few camps scattered across the galaxy, some larger than others, some on the ground while others in space. As the company itself grows, it’s been deemed necessary that so to does its holding capacity. And thus on the initiative of one Tanek Santii, the construction of these new camps were commissioned and a blueprint for future ones created.
