  • Revolving Kinetite generator firing mechanism
STRENGTHS
  • Kinetite Propellant: Using a revolving Kinetite Generating cylinder that remains in perpetual motion, The KS-8 generates it's own Kinetite used to launch slugs.
  • Railgun: Using stored Kinetite in focused precision blasts, the KS-8 launches projectiles with lethal force and speed. Like other slug-based weaponry, it also renders lightsabers near useless.
  • Modular: The KS-8 was designed with a modular barrel and chamber that can be removed and replaced on the go, and comes in a wide variety of calibers.
WEAKNESSES
  • Severed: As with most weapons across the galaxy, cutting weaponry or tools may sever the weapon entirely, rendering it useless in the field.
  • Ballistic: As with most ballistic weaponry, Slugs fired by the KS-8 are subject to gravity and the resulting slug-trajectory.
  • Capacity: Due to it's size, the KS-8 sacrifices magazine capacity for power, and though it may utilize a variety of munitions, each magazine is designed to hold a maximum of six slugs.
DESCRIPTION

The "Kinetite Slugthrower 8" or simply "KS-8" was the a late night invention of Aloy Vizsla, a Mandalorian armorer with a knack for weaponry more than anything else. As with most craftsmen, She was bored and decided to make it someone else's problem by weaponizing her own boredom.

Thus, the first Kinetite Slugthrowers were born. They featured a revolving cylinder that remained in perpetual motion or were powered by the cycling action of a shot itself, which in turn fed energy to an internal kinetite generator that would later unlash the stored kinetite in a highly focused blast that would send the payload a great distance at lethal speeds. This made them arguably more effective than a standard slugthrower and far less resource intensive, as this removed the need for black powder and other propellants. This also made them somewhat effective in the vacuum of space, as the generated inertia would propel the slug without a need for gravity involved.

The smallest of these peculiar kinetite systems were put into the KS-8 as a way to gauge public perception of the weapons for future projects, while the remainder were used to create more militaristic weaponry of varying sizes and intent. Some argued that it was no different from the average slugthrower, while some saw practicality in the powderless design or reduced decimal levels compared to that of powder based systems. Regardless, They became the standard that future BHC kinetite weaponry were based on.
