APPEARANCE:
Underneath the mass of black leather that makes up the Inquisitor's uniform is the charred remains of a Mirilian in his prime. What remains of his skin is pale and wrinkled, it's lack of ever seeing fresh air and sunlight contributing to this. His eyes, which were once a lively dark brown, are now replaced with small grey optical lenses that let off a fain glow through his helmet. Most of Krieg's body is covered in a mechanical suit that aids in his slow, but possible recovery from his accident. The most noticeable feature is the helmet he wears over his burnt head, hiding the hideous remains of what once was a young and energetic face.
BIOGRAPHY:
Krieg Merriden has always been a steadfast servant to the Empire, doing all he can to ensure the laws and values of the Imperial regime were upheld. Born on a nomadic fleet that traveled the galaxy, Krieg was almost seven when he first heard of the Galactic Empire. His convoy often flew through Imperial territory, and all he took notice of was the strict rules and harassing policies of the Imperial military.
It was not until his families convoy was beset by pirates that he finally understood what the Imperial doctrine was truly about.
Pirates who had been plaguing the Imperial districts for months captured the Nomad fleet that Krieg and his family belonged to, after murdering his parents and threatening to sell Krieg into slavery the convoy was approached by an Imperial Star Destroyer, which immediately forced the pirates into a surrender.
Even then Krieg did not lay faith in the Empire, for the pirates threatened to execute the hostage if the Imperials dared set a foot on the convoy, the Empire's response was to fire on the main shuttle, destroying it entirely. Luckily the young Mirilian was not on board that shuttle. Krieg finally felt he understood the Empire when he saw his parent's murderers executed before his very feet. The debt had been paid and justice had been served. He looked onto the stormtroopers, admiring their commanding presence and iron resolve. He begged the nearest one, begged for one thing only. "Let me be one of you."
The Empire send the boy to the Imperial Academy where it was discovered that he was sensitive in the ways of the Force. As the top of his class he was immediately recruited into the Inquisition where he believed he would serve the Empire for the rest of his life. However, fate had cursed him horridly.
Krieg had been stationed on Kamino, under the orders of Imperial High Command. He deployed from the Empire's capitol for years. It was not until a Rebel cell orchestrated a suicide bombing in the capitol that Krieg's life took a turn. Preparing to report to a briefing the man was in the capitol building when the bomb went off. Flames engulfed him, burning away most of his skin and damaging his internal organs heavily. Though his wounds were thought to be superficial at first, so he was ordered to be hospitalized and given bacta, in place of surgery.
The negligence of the Imperial doctor's led to Krieg's lungs, heart, and kidney's to be damaged to the point of needing mechanical aids to function properly. It was then when his eyesight left him and he had his eyes replaced with cybernetic optics. Now Krieg struggles to recover from his injuries, both physically and mentally.
