Krayt-ing up the Yards

Taeli, known as Darth Arcanix, smiled as she once again arrived in the Bilbringi system. She had lead the assault that took the yards before, but now she had other priorities in mind. Krayt Industries was looking to expand and develop a place to be the key location for their production and Bilbringi had immediately been the prime candidate.

Taeli had arrived to talk with the current owners of the shipyards who had returned once the fighting had ended, and when she meant talk, she meant take direct control of the yards. She had made sure all her ducks were in a row, having sent a message to [member="Reverance"] to make sure the move was acceptable, but she had decided to arrive in system before she received his reply. At the very least, she would be able to negotiate the start for her next project.

::Message: Darth Arcanix, it is with the authority of the War Machine, The One Sith, that I grant you and Krayt Industries the right of ownership and usage of the Bilbringi Systems Shipyards. The Dark Lord of the Sith has seen your work, your loyalty, and your constant vigilance and pursuit of the best interests of the One Sith. And he has seen fit to reward you. Use the Shipyards wisely. In regards to Bilbringi Shipyards, you now act with the full authority and backing of the One Sith.::

As she made her way to her personal transport, the Sicarius-class Infiltrator, Taeli's smile widened as she saw the message from Reverance. It would seem that her plans could move forward now, regardless of what those people she was meeting with thought. So many plans and ideas, so little time, but she knew this system would be perfect for development of Project Pride.

"Jaxson, inform our teams to begin arriving to start Project Pride," she said into her comlink as she boarded her ship. "I want the skeleton and most of the hull done before I send a message to Circe Savan."

"Of course, my Lady," came the reply from her right hand man. He knew what she was about to do, and essentially Krayt Industries would now control the entire system of Bilbringi.

Taking off, she made the quick jaunt to the station where the meeting would be taking place and landed. Outside, two security guards in the colors of the owners of the yards presented arms as she descended, but they were meaningless to her. Sith troopers and guards would be arriving soon to replace them, all of them loyal to her and Krayt Industries.

"Lady Arcanix, the owners are waiting for you," the chief of security said, coming up and snapping a lazy salute. "They seem to be. . ."

"Of little consequence," she replied, sweeping past the man with her datapad in hand.

"What do you mean?" the man said, running to catch up with her, his men in tow.

"You'll find out," she answered mysteriously, but inside she was smiling. A new day was about to begin for this system.

"Lady Arcanix! This is belittling of the invitation the owners sent you," the guard captain said, barely keeping up with her as she made her way into the conference area. She could feel the smugness and greed pouring off the individuals inside a nearby meeting room and she knew where to go now.

"That is irrelevant now," she replied, opening the door herself and freaking out more of the security guards.

"Lady Arcanix, thank you. . ." one of the owners said, but Taeli cut across him.

"You are all dismissed," she said. She normally didn't go in for this sort of thing, but these men were traitors to everything they were supposed to represent. They had fled when the Sith arrived, abandoning their duty to the Republic at the first sign of trouble and because they feared for their profit margin. Now that the fighting had left the system and it was firmly in the hands of the One Sith, they had returned to continue making money at the expense of the Sith. She absolutely despised these men and beings.

"Dismissed? You must be joking," another man said, scoffing while his fellows also started laughing. "We own the yards, Lady Arcanix, not you and. . ."

"You don't own anything anymore," she said, sliding the datapad containing the message onto the table. "By writ, the Dark Lord of the Sith has seen fit to place my company and myself in sole command of the Bilbringi shipyards. You all are now dismissed, along with your guards. Krayt Industries will be taking over all operations."

"You can't do this! Guards! Arrest this woman!" the main owner yelled and she could feel blasters priming behind her. "If we deliver her to the Republic, then they shall easily forgive any transgressions on our part and allow us to set up elsewhere."

"Fools," she whispered, glad to have the excuse to deal with this scum. Her eyes shifted to yellow and her lightsaber sprung into her hand.

"Take her down!" one man yelled, and the guards opened fire with stun bolts. Deflecting them easily with her now lit lightsaber, Taeli began to make swift work of the guards. Over her earpiece, she heard from Jaxson the Sith troopers had arrived on station, along with plenty of Krayt Industries workers that were already taking over the shipyard productions and moving into action to begin Project Pride.

Her lightsaber cut through the guards like butter, limbs falling and lives beign extinguished around her. These men she didn't relish killing or maiming, but they were trying to get in her way right now and kill or subdue her. That was not something they could achieve and yet they tried anyways.

The guard captain screamed as Taeli disarmed him, literally, before sending him flying into the wall with enough force to crack his spine. All around her, only death awaited for the guards and when she finally stopped her assault, the only sounds came from the owner board cowering under their table and the moans from guards that had survived with missing limbs.

"That was ill-advised," she said, flipping the table with the Force so the owners were exposed.

"Please! Have mercy upon us! We will willingly serve you and Krayt! Spare us!" multiple voices said, overlaying one another as they begged for mercy from the Sith they had just tried to capture and ransom off to the Republic.

"I normally don't take pleasure from ending lives, far from it, but you are just the lowest of scum and I won't regret taking your miserable lives," she replied, her voice cold as she called on the Force. Channeling it down her free hand, a torrent of blazing blue and purple lighting engulfed the room, striking each owner. Tuning out their screams, she didn't let up her barrage of Force Lightning until the last man was on the ground, smoking and lifeless.

"Jaxson, there's been a change in plans. Krayt now completely controls these yards, and I'm appointing you overseer of our operations here," she said into her comlink. "Get some men in here to clean up and begin building Project Pride."

"Thank you Lady Arcanix, you are most generous," the chief engineer replied. "Work will begin immediately."

Good, she thought, as she deactivated her lightsaber and moved around the room that had been destroyed by her lightning and saber. The guards still alive would be taken into custody for this attack, but Taeli wasn't going to kill them. She had other things they could do for her.

Taeli sighed as the guards were taken away by the Sith troopers that would be providing security here from now on. Outside, the asteroids and other debris that made up the Bilbringi system floated past the window in an endless cycle. She now essentially control a star system, because she knew that controlling the Bilbringi shipyards was the critical thing, not the large asteroid below or any of the others. This, the thing she was standing in was the most important thing.

Already, she could see the reversion of Krayt Industries ships carrying the starting materials for the new Exalt-class Star Destroyer, or Project Pride as it was officially dubbed by the company. But more than that, mining ships had arrived to begin working on the asteroids that littered the system. Asteroids that were incredibly ore-rich and would provide plenty of material for thousands of starships, or at least that's what she hoped for at least.

"It's strange how things change," she mumbled to herself, never once picturing she would be standing in this position when she had joined the Sith or gained Krayt Industries. Shaking off the feeling, she turned and made her way to her new office. It was time to get to work.

"Two convoys have arrived, and we're unloading the materials now," Jaxson was saying as Taeli sat down in the office that had previously been the shipyard's main overseer for the owners. "The crew for the skeleton will be starting in a few moments, but I was reviewing what else the shipyards were up to."

"And?" she asked, curious why they had such few projects visible when they arrived to take the place. She had been expecting to see . . . well at least some other ships at the drydocks, but there had been nothing. "Was there any reason why we arrived to a mainly empty shipyard?"

"The owners were planning to defect to the Republic no matter what we did," Jaxson said, bringing up a screen for Taeli to see. "They had transferred large quantities of their credits and diverted many of the supply convoys to other places in preparation for their move. We're just lucky they didn't try and fire or move their workers too."

"Did the workers know what was going on?" she asked, because if she was in their position, she wouldn't be too terribly happy with the previous owners for essentially cutting off their livelihood.

"I haven't had a chance to speak with many of them yet, but they seem . . . enthusiastic to get back to work on something," Jaxson replied, grinning a bit. "I've already ordered several of our ship lines to begin production immediately in the other construction zones."

"Excellent, and . . ." she started to say before a voice spoke over the intercom.

"Overseer, we're beginning the assembling now," a gruff foremen said and both Taeli and Jaxson grinned.

"Shall we go watch the start of something brand new for the company?" she asked, and with a nod, both of them went off to the observation deck to watch the beginning of a new era for Krayt.

It was truly impressive how a project could come together, Taeli thought as she watched the first pieces of the massive skeleton for the Exalt begin to come together. She had never imagined the company growing to such a size they could actually begin building Star Destroyers, but then she had prepared for that instance . . . just in case when she commissioned the Type III orbital yards.

Still, this was something beyond what she had ever thought she could grow the company to in the time she had been running it. She might have a partner, but Taeli knew she did most of the work and the company was loyal to her for that.

"Marvelous to look at," Jaxson said from beside her, a datapad in hand and an ear piece in. He was already monitoring the production of the prototype Star Destroyer. Taeli knew this would be his primary focus, knowing Jaxosn, she would need to intervene to make sure the workers actually got breaks and went home. But, she wondered if that zeal was all Jaxson's or not, since she was constantly having to do that on multiple projects. Food for thought.

"Indeed, 1,800 meters of power being started is always fascinating," she said, smiling to herself. "With Bilbringi in our control, this is just the beginning, my friend. Oh, just the beginning."

"I loom forward to seeing what else we will be able to produce here," he said. "They are far more extensive than any of our current operations."

"This will be our new hub, our new main operating site," she said. "We will need to fortify it once we have the chance, I don't intend for anyone to disrupt us."

"I'll put it on the to do list, my Lady," Jaxson said, tapping his datapad and leaving Taeli to look at what would be the first ship to match the power and prestige of other larger companies.
