(+) Methodical and pragmatic: Kouber-lai is a man of routine. Organized, precise and punctual. That is the result of being trained in the art of murder since a young age. It is not only seen in his manners but also everything that concerns his life - his residence would be neat, tidy and unnaturally organized. His outfit and equipment would always be well maintained and look as sharp as ever. You would not find a rough edge on his clothing, not a thread gone loose not even a tiny bit of mom's last night spaghetti with meatballs. In simple words, he is the man that organizes his cutlery using a ruler.

(+) Calculative: Stemming from his methodical approach, Kouber-lai is a rather intelligent and sharp man. He is perceptive of his surroundings and of the situation he is in.

(+) Athletic: Once again, thanks to his training under the Seyugi Dervish, Kouber-lai has developed a great deal of athleticism making an all around capable athlete.

(-) Socially dysfunctional: In contrast to the two traits described above, Kouber is not a man that can read people. The assassin can certainly read situations and the various factors that affect it but it is the human factor that always seem foggy to him.

(-) Limited knowledge of the Force: The Seyugi Dervishes are known to only teach arts of the Force that directly concern honing one's own body as a weapon of murder. This close minded attitude to the Force has Kouber-lai possess a very short 'list' of Force abilities that he can utilize.

(-) Genetically inferior: Many would consider the Gurlanin species, a polymorphic race, perfect for the profession of an assassin. That would certainly be true for the standard Gurlanin but not for those born on the 'wrong side' of the gene pool. Kouber-lai's first attempt to polymorph resulted in literally being stuck in that form. The fragile form of a Human being. Ironically, Kouber-lai is able to revert to his natural form of a Gurlanin only when deeply enraged and out of control. When in his natural form of a Gurlanin he is out of control, solely acting on bloodthirsty primal instincts making him absolutely incapable of being an assassin.

(-) Inexperienced: Experience is possibly one of the factors that weighs the most in any scenario. Still an adept in both Dervish standards and Force using standards, Kouber-lai has a long road ahead of him to become who he is destined to become... or die trying. The assassin's lack of experience can and will lead him to miscalculate in the future. It also makes him much more susceptible to error and foolish mistakes, despite his methodical characteristic.

Born on Qiilura years prior the Battle of Yavin, Kouber-lai has vague memory of his parents as he was abducted by the Seyugi Dervishes to be inducted into their ways and taught the 'art' of killing in the time where the Seyugi Dervishes were more than just a band of force trained warriors of the Seyugi culture, but a wide network of philosophically indoctrinated assassins. Interested in the Gurlanin's polymorphic capabilities, they had high expectations of the young Kouber-lai. Unfortunately, they came to be disappointed as they learned of his genetic issues. Nonetheless, the boy was to be taught and attempts to find a 'cure' to his disability were sought by his master who aimed to produce one of the most skilled and lethal assassins of the Dervishes.

Life under monastic austerity and tough regime taught Kouber-lai to taught him to survive on conditions that were far from what the Galaxy describes as a normal life. Such life experiences taught him to be able to use the very little he had to great efficiency, it forged him into an efficient man that needed minimal effort and resources for maximal results. Yet, it also disconnected him from a social life which lead to his lack of perception of a sentient's behavior.

Hard physical labor and exercises, lessons about the philosophy of the Seyugi Dervishes and lectures that taught the anatomy of numerous beings of the galaxy in-depth was how Kouber-lai's childhood and early teens passed. Highly devoted to the teachings of the Dervishes, the Gurlanin successfully passed his 'exam' after being taught for fifteen years. An assassination of a lowly noble in the Mid Rim.

It took him a couple more years of roaming the galaxy on assassination contracts before he forged an identity of himself, away from the yoke of his master. The vastness of the galaxy and its diversity opened his rather closed mind and shook his foundations. Kouber-lai began forming his own views on different matters and specifically about the Seyugi Dervishes. Devoted to their philosophy, being a Dervish himself, he began to realize little flaws. No. Rather, Kouber began seeing the opportunities that the Dervishes failed to see. Collectivist in theory but individualistic in practice, they preached against chaotic violence and endorsed personal gain and avarice, not power.

Yet, was not power the mother of personal gain and the father of avarice ?

Could their skills be used for more than the bags of credit chits ?

Questions after questions would begin to grow within his head and every night Kouber-lai contemplated and imagined what the Dervishes could be. He spent as much time away from Dervishes' bases as he could to draw a picture of his ideas and thoughts in more detail, away from the Dervishes' influence.

Time, unfortunately, was not on Kouber-lai's side as the Jedi Order proclaimed a 'cleanse them heretics with fire' crusade upon the Seyugi Dervishes that had grown like a plague across the Mid Rim and the Core. Skirmish, after skirmish, the Dervishes found themselves on the brink of extinction when the Grand Master issued the radical, but only remaining option to preserve the order from complete destruction. Carbonite. The few hundred left Dervishes were all frozen in carbonite to await for the day of resurrection.

Kouber, on the other hand, had been on the chase when he engaged his ship into hyperspace with a damaged hyper drive. This, miraculously, resulted in him surviving the venture but at the cost of going centuries in the future - 849 ABY to be precise.

The galaxy is in Chaos.

Yet, it seems Kouber now has all the time of the galaxy to delve again into his inquisitive thoughts regarding the philosophy of the Seyugi Dervishes. The same philosophy he adhered to. This time, though, he would not only sell his services to the highest bidder. No. His services and allegiance would lie with those most capable of extorting influence across the galaxy.

Totally agreed! I love seeing more flavor on the board, as well. Star Wars is massive, there's a lot to draw on from there and make Chaos as diverse as possible.

Also, I won't mind seeing Huns as Seyugi Dervishes at all. :p
