  • Intent: To create a custom PC race for all to RP as and create exciting personalities and adventures
  • Canon: N/A
  • Links: Darth Raptious
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: The Koignalteth (Alternative: Chosen of Hearts)
  • Designation: Sentient
  • Origins: Noxis, Tingel Arm
  • Average Lifespan: Thousands of years (Within host or on Noxis) / A few minutes-a few hours (Outside of host)
  • Estimated Population: Scattered (Hundreds, not counting Apostatious, Nulls, or the ultra rare hybrids). All pure Koignalteth are born on the planet of Noxis.
  • Description: It is unknown what the Koignalteth truly are as very few have ever been truly seen and recorded, but it is assumed they are a type of shifting symbiotic creature that melds inside a willing/unwilling host. Most brief sightings of the Koignalteth outside said host recall them being oddly shaped humanoids of shifting colors that seem to leave trails of burning residue in their wake. While many assume this to be their true form, almost all Koignalteth have claimed this form is simply for those in their presence to avoid, as they put it, “catastrophic results,” leaving their explicit true form up to interpretation.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Dependent on host. The non-hosted form seems to perform better in Type-1 or Type-2 as they are normally seen upon these planets.
  • Average Height of Adults: Dependent on host. The race seems to prefer humanoids of above-average size and while the original form is unknown, they are believed to be taller than humans.
  • Average Length of Adults: Dependent on host
  • Skin Color: Given that the non-hosted form of an Koignalteth lacks “skin” as most understand it, the closest comparison would be their “light” or “plasma” which involves a spectrum of all known colors and some unknown colors that appears to depend on the personality of the Koignalteth. While it is uncertain and perhaps incorrect, many believe the true form of the Koignalteth are also made up similarly.
  • Hair color: N/A
  • Distinctions:
    rg19cF0.png

No Gender: The Koignalteth have routinely claimed that they lack gender in the common understanding, but will use the pronouns preferred by their hosts in order to allow easier social interaction.
  • Passive Frequency: The non-hosted form of the Koignalteth resonate a constant humming frequency that helps those nearby discern their mood depending on the pitch shifts. The pitch shifting of the humming is strangely inverted, going higher for anger and lower for excitement and everything in between. However, despite this being the mood indicator for the race, almost everyone not experienced with them will be confused and mistake the shifts and assume the higher pitched are for joy and lower for anger, and so on.
  • Elders vs Young: The older members of the Koignalteth seem to stand with much greater posture and act with regality and control whether in or out of their hosts, likely due to their experiences in the galaxy and their consumption of vast quantities of energy. The young members of the Koignalteth are often seen hunched over, nervously fidgeting with their hands as if frightened and nervous, which they likely are regardless of being inside or outside of their hosts. The older members also speak clearly and succinctly with advanced vocabulary that often stumps most who speak with them; the younger members are justly the opposite, speaking simply and often stuttering and stammering.
  • Body Structure: The non-hosted form of the Koignalteth is as strange as can be, featuring four extremely long appendages attached to an almost impossibly thin body that seems devoid of organs. Their face shape is comprised out of two glowing eyes that shift color like their body, drooping folds, and a respirator shaped mouth and nose. Their faces are seemingly locked in a perpetual expression of sadness or disappointment, even when they are experiencing vastly different emotions. It has been assumed by several Republic and Imperial Scientists that this may be their reflection on the state of the galaxy, although some of the Koignalteth have vehemently denied this with mockery.
  • Plasma Trails: Each step the non-hosted form of the Koignalteth take leaves a trail of viscous, burning plasma that is extremely difficult to remove and clean. Why this is, they have not explained, but it is most likely related to the species’ unstable nature that threatens to dissolve their bodies in a violent display of pain and suffering for all nearby.
  • Hot and Cold: Depending on the individual personality of the Koignalteth, the hosts they inhabit are either burning hot or ice cold. While physical contact with the hosts will not cause physical damage via temperature, it is still a disconcerting feeling when one appears to be filled with joy and life, yet feel as cold as snow on Hoth or Ilum.

Races:

  • Dus Valors (True Form): The obscure final form of the Koignalteth that is claimed to be nearly impossible to achieve for the ritual required is too great a risk for most. This is the peak of their evolution that allows the Koignalteth to become venerable demi-gods capable of living outside their host when not on their homeworld of Noxis, or so the Koignalteth claim. Most Atheed have not gone through the ritual to become one, leaving the Valors at a total population of two in the entire species, residing deep in the dark lands of Noxis to whom the Atheed frequently attempt to gain an impossible audience with. What they look like, and what their exact power level stands at is unknown to all save for the most elder of the Atheed, and even they are skeptical to whether or not what they know is the truth.
  • Atheed (Old Hosted): The oldest, greatest, and rarest of the hosted Koignalteth, these are the ones that have spent over a thousand years with their hosts and have amassed power to contend with Sith Lords and Jedi Masters. They are great well-rounded warriors, perhaps some of the best the Galaxy has to offer, but often specialize in specific fields such as science, engineering, warfare, Force Powers, and so on. They hold great wisdom and knowledge from millenia past, some dating back as far as the Clone Wars and even beyond, although these Atheeds are beyond the capabilities of combat and are often sought after for their minds. The Atheed are distinguished by their host possessing eyes of white/grey/black flames and an almost ethereal aura surrounding them of similar colors, depending on how the Koignalteth lived their life. The Atheed also refer to themselves in the group pronoun of "we," referring to both the host and the hosted.
    Mey-Atheed (Great Old Hosted):
    iauojfx.png
These are the Atheeds who have mastered more than one field and are greatly feared and respected by all Koignalteth. They are immensely powerful, but are highly reclusive to the point that almost no one but the most studious of scholars know of their existence. This breed possess the most defined non-hosted form out of the breeds, appearing as faceless humans in peak physical condition. However, it is stated in the writings of scholars and by word of the Atheed that this is still nothing close to their true form.

[*]Theleed (Full Hosted): The adults of the species who have spent considerable time with their hosts and have amassed enough power to begin forging their dominions beyond single planets or star systems. They are comparable in abilities and Force capability as trained Sith Warriors with the temperance of a Jedi Counselor and are more than capable of standing toe to toe with all manner of foes within their skill range. However, various Theleed are still prone to behavior patterns of the Zakumeed. One of the most famous of this breed is Victor Assaila who once held great position and prestige within the Sith Empire before vanishing completely. Theleed are distinguishable by their brightly colored eyes that seem to radiate power at times of great excitement and turmoil and otherworldly voices.
  • Zuleed (Unhosted): These are the Theleeds who live outside their host in a secretive community on Noxis with supportive Theleeds, Atheeds, or even their former host who still enjoys the benefits of a vastly extended lifespan. They hold the standard guise that all Koignalteth wear, but often revert to their true form when in the presence of only fellow Koignalteth. The most common reasoning for this breed existing is a sudden incompatibility issue with the host, forcing the Zul-Theleeds to feast on gifts given by its peers and eventually die on their homeworld.

[*]Zakumeed (New Hosted): The youngest of the Koignalteth who have either just departed Noxis with their host from the Unknown Regions or are still under 500 years of age and exploring the galaxy. These are the more violent breed of the Koignalteth, the upstarts who fall easily to the temptations of flesh, power, and war. Many Apostateious come from this breed due to the more unstable nature of power and desire. The Zakumeed are perfectly meshed into their host and bear no signs that would reveal their nature to the wider galaxy.
  • Apostatious (Traitors/Exiles)
    cqJkGr4.png
    :
The Zakumeed who have consumed hundreds of unwilling hosts to gain power and have shed their guises that all others wear, ruling their planets as tyrants of unmeasured and uncontrolled power. While the Atheed, Theleed, and normal Zakumeed have routinely used these Koignalteth as reasons why they will not shed their guises, no Apostatious has been seen in person or on video by other races, leaving those that hear of them wondering and theorizing as to just what they are. The Atheed have provided some hints in their appearance, describing them as either great beasts of fire and brimstone bleeding from one hundred wounds or repulsive deviants of sin and agony leaking decay. The worst of the Apostatious is known only as The Croak of Seven Lakes, who is a combination of both fire and decay.

[*]Null (Empty Soul): For every four Koignalteth born, there are two that are born non-Force Sensitive and doomed to live solely on Noxis rather than explore and spread the influence of the Koignalteth. Where other societies would treat this as nothing special, and rather expected, the Koignalteth view this as an abomination worse than even the Apostatious. More often than not, the Nulls are subsequently fed to the Heart of Noxis in a dark ritual that all keep from record, the very soul eradicated from existence. At times, however, the Nulls will be kept alive out of pity and trained to be scholars and teachers for the natives of the Noxis star system.

[*]Force Sensitivity: Many
[*]Strengths:
yXC6Ibq.png
Hosting: The main strength of the Koignalteth is their ability to become hosted with virtually any Force Sensitive being by melding their spiritual essences together, a process that, in short, consumes the "physical form" of the Koignalteth into that of the host. This allows both the host and the Koignalteth to explore the galaxy for millennia and develop extraordinary abilities and experience innumerable events. More often than not, a Koignalteth will only have one host through their lifetime, although some still go through multiple hosts while Apostatious go through possible hundreds.

Y5cTU0P.png
Energy Leeching: The second main strength of the Koignalteth is their natural ability to leech life energy and force energy from lifeforms. At first, this is centered around their host who will quickly develop the innate ability to leech from enemies during combat, further enhancing the host and the Koignalteth within, respective to the energy drained. However, forcible energy leeching is greatly frowned upon by the Atheed and most Theleed, thus making it an ability only Zakumeed, some Theleed, and Apostatious perform, with the latter become masterfully proficient in the application.

rZx2X7H.png
Virtually Unknown: The Koignalteth are a mysterious species, to put it plainly. Almost no one knows anything concrete about them due to the lack of true sightings, the fact that almost every single one can blend into society via their host, and the natural secretive nature of the species. Anything that is known is willingly given by the Koignaleth and the information’s validity and concreteness varies from individual to individual. This lack of knowledge limits the ability others have to properly fight against them, often resulting in one-sided fights if they do occur when the Koignalteth faces unprepared and weaker opponents.

uOCXCkM.png
Force Aptitude: The Koignalteth, like humans, are Force Sensitive on varying degrees. Some will be less so than others, and others more so than others. A Koignalteth's aptitude with the Force will increase respective to the aptitude of their host, which will likely always match their own. In other words, a Koignalteth with low aptitude with the Force will be matched with a host with low aptitude for the sake of both of them growing together. Conversely, a Koignalteth with high aptitude will be paired with a high aptitude host and develop more advanced traits. In short, it all follows the Koignalteth saying of "The host must mesh."

ozy9fHg.png
Vast Potential: Because the Koignalteth can be hosted by virtually any Force Sensitive being (although every single one is hosted with one of the natives from the Noxis star system at first), their potential is vast compared to most races due to the fact that hosting extends the hosts' lifespans by millennia, thus extending the training limit of the hosts immeasurably. This gives the Koignalteth time to explore cultures and hone single abilities to master levels rather than a great number of abilities at novice level, although a few choose to practice the latter.

73tVcwv.png
Dus Valors (True Form): The final form of the Koignalteth, as a few Atheed have put it, is allegedly the only way a Koignalteth can survive in their true bodies outside of Noxis after having consumed enough power and energy from their hosts. It is claimed to be at such a level that only the greatest warriors in the galaxy would have a chance of defeating one, however the validity of this, as with all claims the Koignalteth have made, are dubious at best given the lack of evidence.
  • Weaknesses:
uv7UDHc.png
Messiah Complex: The Koignalteth are at times prone to developing messiah complexes that will often result in them endangering their own lives and the lives of their hosts. Those that develop this complex will often believe they truly are unbeatable and completely death defying and thus put themselves in grave danger without realizing it until the fatal last second.

tSj8gzk.png
Non-Hosted Form: The Koignalteth have claimed several times that the form all see them possessing when not hosted is simply for the benefit of all. A few Atheed of the species have claimed that this is because the true form of a Koignalteth is unstable to a degree for them and has caused various mental disabilities amongst those that have seen it. One Theleed was noted as stating that if they do not hold this commonly seen form, their true bodies would wither and die due to the world around it, perhaps indicating some great level of exposure weakness. Some truth to this claim is shown in the fact that this form, as recorded, can only be held for so long before a Koignalteth will return to its host or force another to be their host because of their fear of death, showing that while it is a great example of metamorphosis used to keep themselves alive, it is taxing on their well-being and overall life.

AeC3CD6.png
Heart of Noxis: Stated to be the only way to truly erase a Koignalteth from existence in its entirety, the Heart of Noxis stands as the most curious and mysterious aspects of the species’ society. Whatever the Heart of Noxis is, it stands as perhaps their greatest weakness, ironically so for it is also the subject of their religion.

qiFa3CH.png
Limited Number: The Koignalteth are nowhere near as vast and widespread as other races, standing at only a few hundred scattered across the galaxy. This limits their ability to form a proper army or even their own faction without using the natives of the Noxis star-system who themselves are only a few million strong. As such, the Koignalteth are often isolated from each other and should situations go ary for them, they will likely not have any assistance to save them.

3PNDemU.png
Hosts: For all their potential for power and experience, the Koignalteth are entirely reliant on their hosts for survival outside of Noxis and thus, by proxy, face the same threats that the hosts do. These threats range from combat, exposure, starvation, etcetera. If a host perishes, the Koignalteth will either die with them or be forced to break conduct and forcibly inhabit another’s body if they are nearby.

CULTURE
rmtx4XT.png

  • Diet: A Koignalteth's main diet consists of life energy and force energy. The host of a Koignalteth will be routinely leeched of some of their own energy for the survival of the hosted, although the host will find it replenished after some days. How this happens exactly is unknown, but many theorists believe it is a form of recycling, meaning the Koignalteth will take what it needs and reproduce it to keep the host alive and then consume it again. In other words, cutting down a tree to replant it and cut it down again. Additionally, it would appear that host is still forced to consume whatever their diet consisted of, whether it be meat or fruit.
  • Communication: The non-hosted form of the Koignalteth seems to communicate with a dark, resonating hum in whatever language suits the ones nearby. Whether it is Basic or Hutteese or others, the Koignalteth seem to possess an innate fluency in most common languages. This fluency is additionally passed along to their host who only require translators for deeply exotic languages.
  • Technology level: The Koignalteth that retain their ships and gear from their homeworld seem to possess a technology level comparable to most species that have adopted space travel, although the exact specifications are difficult to cipher. It has been confirmed, at the very least, that the ships of the more welcoming Koignalteth possess various forms of laboratories designated towards gene science, Force studies, and weapon development.
  • Religion/Beliefs: While the exact specifications of the Koignalteth religion is shrouded, it is generally believed that they worship the so called “Heart of Noxis,” which the Theleeds and Atheeds describe as a “great, ravenous thing” that defies all known logic. How it came to be and what purpose it serves is unclear, but what is clear is that the Koignalteth both revere it and fear it. It should be noted that one rather open, and rather grave, Atheed said that it serves none but Noxis itself and that all things beyond its current grasp are simply biding time until the “red shadows” blanket the galaxy.
  • General behavior:
Disposition: This trait heavily relies on the breed of the Koignalteth, the individual personality of said breed, as well as the personality of the host that will merge with the hosted. However, the generally accepted viewpoint is that the Koignalteth become increasingly reserved, diplomatic, and regal as they grow older.
  • Views on Death: Barring individuals that do not, it is generally accepted that the Koignalteth have the same fears of death as any other race, in spite of their long lives. Those that fear death the most belong with the Apostatious, cowardly hiding behind their tyrannical rules and corrupted power away from all that can challenge them.
  • Mates and Family Life: The Koignalteth are not known to have any mates of their own species nor are they known to have actual children, as all true Koignalteth are born from the Heart of Noxis rather than biological birth. While Koignalteth can have romantic partners, it is generally accepted that hosting a Koignalteth sterilizes the host due to the procedure required and subsequent energy draining. This makes it so that families must adopt or have children from a willing surrogate. At times, however, in extremely rare cases, a hosted will be capable of having a biological child who is a hybrid of the parent species (i.e. a Koignalteth Noxian and a Twi’Lek). These hybrids are not added in the lists of breeds and are considered either abominations worse than Nulls or the future of the Koignalteth species. The family life of a Koignalteth does not have a recorded average style as each one depends greatly on the parents.
  • Treatment of Elders: All save for the Apostatious and most belligerent of the Zakumeed respect the elders of the Koignalteth, and even of the races they encounter if they prove their worth. More than once has a Zakumeed and Theleed approached the wise elders of a small village simply to hear their story and receive words of wisdom or even combative training. Even the Atheed themselves respect the elders of other races who hold vast knowledge of life, respecting their abilities of the mind and body for ones who cannot live for millennia.
  • Views on Jedi and Sith: The Koignalteth both respect and despise the two major Force based factions of the Galaxy, feeling that they bring a conflicting mix of tumultuous peace and unnecessary violence. They view the Jedi as being the greatest natural peacekeepers in the galaxy whilst viewing the Sith as the greatest Force based warriors the galaxy needs to combat the threats looming beyond the veil of understanding. However, they can also view the Jedi as a band of blind bureaucrats who fail to understand the necessity of darker warriors while also viewing the Sith as the largest reason why there are so many Apostatious and corrupted tyrants. The Koignalteth have been extremely vocal on their opinions of the factions, despite their planet technically being under the rule of the Sith Empire.
  • Views on Mandalorians: The Koignalteth hold nothing but the utmost respect for the Mandalorians and their ways of life, viewing their warrior-poet society as perfection, next only to the Noxians of whom they predominately host. With every chance they can get, a Koignalteth will duel a Mandalorian simply to test their own mettle, viewing them as some of the greatest natural warriors in the history of the Galaxy.
  • Views of the Force: In spite of their Sith Empire rule, the demonic appearance of their homeworld, and historical leanings towards the Dark Side, the Koignalteth by and large do not subscribe to either side outright, instead attempting to master the art of balance if possible. With the recent implementation of Sith control and renewed warfare in the Galaxy, the Koignalteth are indeed witnessing a rise in Dark Side hosted, yet even these ones do not fall to the mindless corrupted savagery of the Sith immemorial if trained correctly, and those that follow the Light Side are interestingly treated with a greater respect given their new rarity.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Koignalteth's history is as long as one would assume for a species that lives for millennia, spanning thousands of years into the past and full of inconsistencies, truths, falsehoods, and word of mouth rumors. The exact truth to the Koignalteth, as with many things, is purely speculation as the planet of Noxis is outlawed from visitation under Sith Law. The only ones beyond the Koignalteth themselves who can visit the planet without suffering irreparable effects are those with enough aptitude in the Force to resist the Heart of Noxis's defensive measures and Noxians selected to be hosts, the latter due to their genetic strains developed from their close proximity to the planet.

What can be discerned from the slew of information gathered by the galactic historians and scholars is that the Koignalteth evolved on their planet some millennia ago, their development aided by their planet that seems to be a Nexus for the Force and are a generally Force Sensitive race on the same scale as Humans, if not a slight touch more so.

Through their history, the Koignalteth have made contact with almost every known species in the Galaxy, and even a few that are exotic enough to be relatively obscure. They have forged kingdoms, governments, organizations, and businesses and once numbered in the tens of thousands as they expanded beyond their limits until, suddenly, they were forced back to their system of Noxis.

According to the Red Book of Noxis, the Koignalteth suffered a Cataclysm throughout the Galaxy roughly six thousand years after their creation that dwindled their numbers greatly, and the after effects have thus limited them to only a few hundred throughout the stars. To any who have not read the Red Book of Noxis, the exact details of this Cataclysm are unknown by this point in history. Any and all details of it available to the public at large are general implications from talkative Koignalteth, although several Galactic scholars have indeed speculated that this Cataclysm is what has forced the Koignalteth to be hosted. However, their speculations have been neither confirmed nor denied.

Regardless of their origins, and what histories are true, what cannot be denied is that the Koignalteth hold some greater purpose in the Galaxy beyond simply being a partially symbiotic species.

[member="John Locke"] Okay! I have changed what I needed in History and Dus Valors. It was simple rewording I did, but I will add that the Red Book of Noxis is a work in progress and will be a future sub.
