Biography​

Chandrila Born, Chandrila Bred
Born as Kolburn Lloyd Fesser, Kobi never knew much of where he came from. His parents, Jaro and Elloise, were just common folks within the core. There was no history of Force Sensitivity in the family’s bloodline on either side, even tracking their ancestry back to time before the rise of the Galactic Empire. The family had simply just been like any other “normal” family out there and they had never even left Chandrila in all those years. So, it really did come as a surprise when it was discovered by a travelling Jedi Knight that not only was Kobi able to feel and connect with the Force, but that the connection was a strong one as well. It was really something that was quite bewildering to the young couple and when asked about allowing their toddler son to travel with him to be taken to be trained as a Jedi, the answer was not easily given.

After about a week or two of deliberation, the young mother and father arrived at their answer and it wasn’t an easy one for them to make.

They agreed to allow their son to be taken away to be trained as a Jedi, but they were saddened as this was their first and only child after several failed attempts to conceive before. This decision way heavily on the two and left the innocent Kobi confused and scared as he was handed over to the travelling Knight. And so, he became the first of his family to actually leave Chandrila in memory.

These Are the First Steps
After travelling from him Chandrila home, the toddler Kobi and the nomadic Knight finally made their way to the vividly green forested planet of Kashyyk. It was the center of the Order of Jedi that he was to join and what would be his new home. Even with as comforting as the company was at the temple there, it didn’t help his sadness and fear at the loss of his family – of his mother and father – and often times, he could be heard crying over them. This happened for the first several weeks after he had arrived, but eventually it stopped and once it did, he was really able to embrace his training.

During the early stages of his training, it quickly became evident that his talents in understanding and connecting with the Force far outweighed his ability to grasp the techniques and applications of lightsaber combat. He often grew frustrated with his difficulties in Lightsaber Combat techniques, instead wanting to return to studies of the Force and the many abilities one could gain through its study.

The Empath Hidden Within
Kobi had always been gifted in his ability to connect with and harness the Force, but unbeknownst to him and even those around him, he was a natural empath. He could feel and sense things through the Force that he did not understand. It all happened so clearly where he just seemed to know what people were thinking and their underlying motivations. Whether or not they were hiding something. It was just something that came to him easily. He could especially do this with the other younglings within the temple and especially in individuals not trained in the Force.

At first the realization terrified and confused him, but after being taken aside and enlightened as to just what was happening with him, he came to embrace this. He continues to try and hone this along with his other Force abilities, but still has little motivation to practice his lightsaber movements in comparison.
