  ~LIFE ON APATROS~
  Ko grew up on the planet Apatros, and despite his parents being large and physically able to work the mines, Ko had always been smaller, and people often joked that his parents adopted a runt rather than have a child of their own. Before reaching the age of fifteen, both his parents passed away during a mining accident, and with no other family, Ko was forced to learn to fend for himself. He quickly turned his previous hobby, working as a scavenger, into his prime means of survival. Some miners took exception to his way of life, especially a miner named Kroger and his gang of thugs, who had often bullied and harassed Ko before his parent's death and began targeting the young man. It wasn’t until a rather aggressive confrontation in the streets, that Kroger and his gang switched from harassing Ko to threatening his life. To save his own skin, Ko was forced to flee the only home he had ever known, by sneaking away from the city and booking passage on a freighter. He only had enough credits to get as far as Anaxes, but it was here that he met Cailen Corso . The two became quick friends and Cailen helped Ko build a ship, the "Serenity" out of scrap and salvage. Ko sadly bid his new friend farewell and set out into the galaxy to make his way, promising that he would find Cailen again someday.

  HONESTY:​	Ko is honest to a fault, he prefers to never lie unless it is vital for survival.
  SCAVENGER: ​	Growing up on the planet Apatros there were very few options for making credits and survival. As he was physically unable to work the mines, being much smaller than others, he found another source of income. He began to find and repair the many different pieces of equipment left by the miners and corporations. Most tools were simply discarded or abandoned when they broke down and Ko Scanvanger salvaged these and repaired them before selling them back to the corporation and miners.
  MECHANIC:​	Working as a scavenger exposed him to many different types of equipment. He learned to see patterns in how things were made and quickly learned how to repair almost anything he encountered. He can repair ships, vehicles, equipment, and even droids with little prior knowledge of the device.

  Making My Escape - Despite growing up on Apatros and being a part of the community, he continues to be plagued by a bully, Kroger. When Kroger vows to take Ko's life, he has no choice but to make his escape.

  Characteristics
  Description
  The original X-70B Phantom design was built during the time of the Old Republic as an experimental model designed to resemble a luxury shuttle while possessing the combat capacity of a heavy starfighter and intended for use as an intelligence vehicle. Its bridge was shielded by the forward armor plating and was equipped with advanced, precision flight instruments, coated with a sensor-resistant exterior, and equipped with the most sophisticated equipment and weapons for the time period. During the time of the Clone Wars, then Chancellor Palpatine retrofitted the design with more modern technology, including more sophisticated cloaking technology, but maintained the overall appearance and purpose.
  
  After being rebuilt on Anaxes, the Serenity looked very much like a mix and match of parts and hull plating that was rapidly put together with whatever could be found to finish the vessel. Having pieces of other ships' hulls cut and shaped to match as closely as possible to the original panel's size and dimensions. This made the vessel look very much like what was called an "ugly" (a ship built from other ship parts and components) and having the general appearance of being unsafe, despite being completely space worthy and operational. Over time Ko has been able to replace the outer hull to resemble the original design that was stored in the ship's computer systems. Now the vessel is a sleek crisp looking ship, with the appearance of a luxury yacht.
  
  The interior of the Serenity looked even worse after being relaunched, with entire sections of the interior hull plating missing, open wires, conduits, and equipment exposed, and very little in the way of comfort. As the vessel was quickly put together from a wide variety of sources, it was more rebuilt with function in mind than comfort. As with the outer hull, Ko has upgraded the vessel over time, now not only looking like a comfortable luxury yacht but also Ko's home. Several of the spaces have been customized to fit Ko's lifestyle and the needs of whatever job Ko is currently employed to carry out.
  
  Armaments
  The original X-70B Phantom was designed to do the dual purpose of luxury transport and heavy starfighter, and the Serenity continues to have much of the same systems intact but upgraded to meet current technology. The ship's main cannons are positioned on the port and starboard sides with an additional, two automatic topside turrets and a single lower turret that are hidden under the stealth paneling. These turrets can be controlled via computer or through comlink when Ko is not aboard the vessel. The ship also carries a missile pod that can be armed with standard homing missiles, proton torpedoes, mines, or seismic charges depending on what the vessel currently has in stores.
  
  Interior Layout
  The Serenity's interior borrows heavily from the ships of the Old Republic Era, with the bridge being laid out in a similar style as that of the Defender-class light corvette. Ko has made many of the controls and systems more sleek and responsive to being used by a signal pilot rather than needing a co-pilot for effective operations. He has also replaced the original captain's quarters with a more spacious suite.
  
  The ship's luxurious central lounge is built with custom wood paneling and plush cushioned seating, the lounge includes a small kitchen and bar, a gaming table, recessed food coolers, and a centralized long-range communications holo-terminal situated in the middle of the room. Opposite the kitchen and bar area lays a lounge and relaxation area and dining area. Attached to the central lounge is a medical bay, behind which lays a spacious cargo bay. The Serenity has had the original conference room converted into a multipurpose room that can be used for either passenger carrying or as an entertainment area, and a training room and armory are located beside secondary crew quarters.
