Darth Vindictus

Darth Vindictus opened his eyes slowly, his mind returning to him from where he had cast it into the Force. It had been several days since he had returned to the Tomb of Darth Nihl, one of the ancient leaders of the original One Sith. When Darth Krayt had died at the hands of Cade Skywalker, Darth Nihl had taken the lead of the remnants of the One Sith and led them into hiding. There, they had planned to rebuild, subvert the Galactic Alliance of that time from the shadows, and return to take back their proper mantle. However, infighting within their organization, led by a Sith seeking to reestablish the Rule of Two, led to the death of most of the remnants. Darth Nihl himself had escaped the fate of the One Sith, and journeyed across the galaxy. He had been laid to rest in this Tomb, built by the last adherents of the One Sith.

Vindictus had found the Tomb during his own travels, and after uncovering the secrets held within, had devoted himself to resurrecting the One Sith of old. It had been done before in recent galactic history, but Vindictus sought to do so again. He had taken to meditating before the sarcophagus of Darth Nihl while he was at the Tomb, letting his mind travel the currents of the Force and gaining what insight he could. The approaching presence of a being however drew his attention back to the world of reality. He lifted his eyes from the floor of the Tomb, settling them on the bronze of the sarcophagus for several moments.

The being that approached was strong in the Force, and even from this distance he could tell their connection to the Dark Side was prominent. Who it was, however, was still a mystery. Pushing himself to his feet, Vindictus turned and climbed the stairs up from the lowered platform where the body of Darth Nihl lay. A servant in black robes stood near one of the hallways leading away from the central complex, head bowed as the Lord of the One approached. "Send word to the perimeter guards. Inform them to make themselves scarce, I wish to meet our guest, alone." The youth bowed his head and began rushing down the hallway, quickly disappearing around the bend.

With a small smile on his face, Vindictus turned and made his way deeper into the Tomb himself, preparing himself for the trial ahead.

Firrerreo Firrerreo

So he wasn't the first one here.

The young Sith glanced around as he entered the tomb, taking note of some of the others there. They kept their distance, but they were certainly watching. He hummed a soft tune as he went, pulling out a black tome to idly glance through the pages. Perhaps they knew better than to mess with a Sith? No, Firrerreo wasn't known. So more likely, there was someone here who wanted to speak with him.

Very well.

He cleared his throat and stopped, turning his amber gaze towards one of the distant shadows.

"Take me to your master, then."

Vindictus turned his gaze on Firrerreo Firrerreo as he was led into the Archives. The room was brightly lit, compared to the rest of the Tomb, with dozens of artificial lights having been installed by the One Sith. Originally the room had been lit by torches as well, but Vindictus had ordered them all removed, refusing even the slightest chance that the incalculable knowledge held within would be put to risk.

All four walls of the Archives, including the entrance side, were lined with bookshelves containing hundreds of books, scrolls and various other pieces of knowledge. Servants moved about the Archives, carefully moving and cataloging everything within. The Archives rose several levels above the main floor, with walkways and bridges spanning in random directions.

Vindictus sat in a black wood chair near one of the bookcases, one leg folded over the other, and his hood pulled up obscuring much of his face. He flicked his right hand fingers at the servant that brought Firrerreo into the room, the youth bowing and departing. Vindictus sized up the newcomer for a few moments in silence before he rose to his feet. "Welcome, stranger, to the Tomb of Darth Nihl."
