..:: Strengths ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Fully Sealed against Chemical and Biological Attacks: As the scope of the Knights of the Pyre expand, so to does the likely hood that they'll encounter a chemical or biological agent of unknown origin becomes more apparent. The Helmets are designed with Advanced Breathing Filters, ensuring that chemical or biological agents are not absorbed through the respiratory system. Likewise the bodyglove worn beneath the armor is sealed to ensure that such pathogens or agents are not absorbed through contact with the individual's skin.

  • Automatic Polarizing and Anti-Flash Blinding Lenses: Each helmet contains special lenses that aid the individual during certain situations. These lenses have a function in which they automatically polarize in bright light, while also ensuring that the individual is not blinded - by sunlight flare, or a flash component from a stunning weapon such as a flashbang - as a means to protect their vision. These lenses also display the information provided by the following system.

  • Multi-Frequency Targeting and Acquisition System: While an older technology, it is still one that is of great use and aid when it comes to battlefield conditions. The MFTAS ensures that the individual's perception in a smoke filled environment is not hindered, utilizing the IFF Circuitry in other armor, it helps discern friends from foes. It also aids in tracking multiple enemy combatants in an engagement.

  • Armorweave Cloak or Kamas: Though the protection it offers is minor, each suit of armor comes with an individual's choice of attire - usually a Cloak or Kamas - that is constructed of Armorweave. Known for being able to resist limited contact with a lightsaber, as well as deflect blaster bolts in some cases. Its limited surface area however does not provide a greater protection and is often more for appearance than protection.

  • Intimidation / Fear Factor: The greatest strength of the armor is its appearance. The helmets are designed with horns that flair out, crowned with spires and facial plates that appear as a desiccated corpse. Skulls adorn various positions of the armor, with larger facades emblazoned upon the boots and gauntlets. Their garbled voices sound almost like screams of anguish and pain, adding to the fear factor.

..:: Weaknesses ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Walking Tank: Weight in excess of 20 kilos, the armor is heavy to say the least; with those individuals that wear it requiring special training or at the very least a formidable strength and endurance without prior training. This is mainly due to the construction of the armor - the construction of which is two sheets of durasteel overlapping an internal sheet of plastoid. Individuals wearing the armor are otherwise incapable of dexterous movement (such as tumbles and rolls) or prolonged running.

  • Fire Trap: Although the Plastoid internal sheet can defuse some heat; overall the suit itself is one giant oven. In situations in which an individual would otherwise be trapped in an area set ablaze or otherwise find themselves in fire, they could easily cook within the armor in a matter of moments.

  • EMP/Ion Vulnerability: The electrical systems in the suit (primarily those within the helmet) are not shielded against EMP or Ion based attacks. If hit, the suits systems would shut down, leaving the individual vulnerable in a variety of ways. Their IFF Circuitry would shut down, their lenses would fail, as well as their internal comlink shutting off, leaving the trooper within the armor vulnerable until the suit was properly repaired.

  • Sonic Vulnerability: While the layers of durasteel and plastoid ensure that only the largest kinetic rounds or specifically armor piercing rounds would cause damage to the armor; there is no means of protecting the wearer from a sonic based attack. Rather due to the confinement of the armor, the Sonic burst would ricochet around within the armor itself, effectively rending the internal organs of the individual a mass of jelly.

..:: DESCRIPTION ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once there was an idea that began to grown within the Unknown Regions of the Outer Rim; tucked away on the world of Kal'Shebbol. A monastic order akin to the Jedi rose with the belief that the Galaxy was in constant turmoil due to Force Users such as the Jedi and Sith. Fast forward nearly a decade and their inheritors stand among the burning worlds of the galaxy; though they do not believe as their predecessors once did, and rather their focus is on Order at any cost.

The Knights of the Pyre are the descendants of groups such as the Knights of Kal'Shebbol, the Templar Order of the Feenix System, and the Holy Order of the Righteous Flame. While their predecessors focused on Force Users, the Knights of the Pyre focus upon the defense and order of the Commenor Systems Alliance. Their armor, constructed in a joint venture between Sorenn-Syrush Industries and the Kaminoan Armorsmiths is meant to instill fear in those that would otherwise bring chaos to order.

Constructed primarily of durasteel with an internal layer of plastoid, its thick pieces cause the armor to weight in excess of 20 kilos - making it some of the heaviest armor in the galaxy - and showing the commitment that each individual in the armor must maintain. Inspired by the Stormtrooper Corps and the Deathtroopers, their armor contains multiple systems often seen in those units; such as the Automatic Polarization and Anti-Flash Blinding Lenses in the helmet, or the IFF Circuitry in the armor to allow them to discern friend from foe in a battlefield condition.

While the construction of the armor and its design focused on an intimidation or fear factor - as some members of the Knights of the Pyre have been known to gore an opponent on the sweeping horns of the helmet - there are multiple downsides to the armor. Though its Armorweave cloak or kamas offers some additional protection - mainly in instances of glancing blows - the armor is completely vulnerable to lightsabers, which can easily cut through the material. Likewise, glancing blaster bolts cause minimal damage, while direct shots could potentially kill or otherwise injure the wearer. Of course as its main focus is on kinetic attacks, it would take either an armor piercing round or a round of sizable calibur to tear through the armor.

However the more likely cause of death would either being from a Sonic based attack - as the armor shell seems to cause the sonic attack to reverberate back and forth within the armor shell - which turns the internal organs of the individual becoming jelly. Additionally if caught in Fire, the armor becomes an oven, cooking the wearer within. Much of its systems - specifically those circuits in the armor or helmet - can also be knocked out via an EMP burst or an Ion based attack. These can fry the circuits and require that the armor be taken back for repairs - as such an attack would shut off the systems within the helmet.
