..:: Strengths ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Fully Sealed against Chemical and Biological Attacks: As the scope of the Knights of the Pyre expand, so to does the likely hood that they'll encounter a chemical or biological agent of unknown origin becomes more apparent. The Helmets are designed with Advanced Breathing Filters, ensuring that chemical or biological agents are not absorbed through the respiratory system. Likewise the bodyglove worn beneath the armor is sealed to ensure that such pathogens or agents are not absorbed through contact with the individual's skin.

  • Automatic Polarizing and Anti-Flash Blinding Lenses: Each helmet contains special lenses that aid the individual during certain situations. These lenses have a function in which they automatically polarize in bright light, while also ensuring that the individual is not blinded - by sunlight flare, or a flash component from a stunning weapon such as a flashbang - as a means to protect their vision. These lenses also display the information provided by the following system.

  • Multi-Frequency Targeting and Acquisition System: While an older technology, it is still one that is of great use and aid when it comes to battlefield conditions. The MFTAS ensures that the individual's perception in a smoke filled environment is not hindered, utilizing the IFF Circuitry in other armor, it helps discern friends from foes. It also aids in tracking multiple enemy combatants in an engagement.

  • Armorweave Cloak: Though the protection it offers is minor, each suit of armor comes with a Cloak that is constructed of Armorweave. Known for being able to resist limited contact with a lightsaber, as well as deflect blaster bolts in some cases. Its limited surface area however does not provide a greater protection and is often more for appearance than protection.

  • Chromium: The greatest aspect of the armor is the layer of chromium which is used to coat the outer layer of the armor. This material - though not rare and unheard of - is utilized on many worlds due to its properties involving radiation protection as well as its capability to deflect or otherwise absorb minor laser blasts.

..:: Weaknesses ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • EMP/Ion Vulnerability: Very much like the Hellplate armor it is based off of - The electrical systems in the suit (primarily those within the helmet) are not shielded against EMP or Ion based attacks. If hit, the suits systems would shut down, leaving the individual vulnerable in a variety of ways. Their IFF Circuitry would shut down, their lenses would fail, as well as their internal comlink shutting off, leaving the trooper within the armor vulnerable until the suit was properly repaired.

  • Sonic Vulnerability: The Halfplate Chromium Armor is designed in some parts off the aesthetics of the old Stormtrooper Armor often seen in the galaxy - as well as some minor design flares from the more recently developed Hellplate Armor - it has some instances in which the design flaws and weaknesses of the armor it is based off of and otherwise inspired from. Very much like the Hellplate Armor, the Chromium Armor offers little in the way of protection against Sonic based weaponry. Where as the effects of Sonic Based weapons are not as prominent in this armor as its sister armor, it is none the less a gruesome sight if an individual wearing this armor is felled by such an attack.

  • Lack of Coverage: While much of the armor is coated in Chromium, there are portions of the armor where the bodysuit is exposed - as often seen in many forms of stromtrooper armor. While the suit is capable of providing the protection against limited sources of radiation, it is not fully radiation proof - meaning that in areas with above average radiation the suit is capable of protecting the wearer from radiation and its effects - however, in locations with greater levels of radiation, the suit is otherwise incapable of protecting its wearer for extended periods of time.

..:: DESCRIPTION ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Halfplate Chromium Armor is a lesser - and sister - design to the Knights of the Pyre Hellplate that was produced not that long ago for use by the Knights of the Pyre. The Chromium Armor was constructed as a means to provide small specialized units with an equally specialized armor to fit their needs in the field. The armor is plated in Chromium - much as Captain Phasma's armor was as well as the vessels of the Naboo Royal Family - mainly due to its property in shielding the wearer from radiation.

Much of its systems are taken directly from the Hellplate armor, which is the primary reason of the many similarities between the two sets of armor - predominately in their capabilities, strengths and weaknesses. This can be seen in that both the Hellplate Armor and the Halfplate Chromium still suffer from their lack of protection in regards to Ion or EMP based attacks. Likewise this is the reasoning behind their shared strengths, as many of the systems in the helmet of the Hellplate Armor found their way into the helmet of the Halfplate Chromium Armor. All in all, the armor itself is meant to be utilized in limited groupings, and even then its primary capability - that of protecting its wearer from radiation - is only done so in limited fields. As mentioned, in areas of above average radiation levels, the wearer would otherwise be protected from its affects - however in locations of higher levels or even lethal levels, the armor is next to useless.

Rather the armor is often seen in use in a similar means to that of the Hellplate Armor - equipped on specific units that are stationed in key areas to provide a visual sense of security as well as serve as a visible deterrent that would cause most criminals to think twice. While the armor is capable of protecting its wearer from radiation and low level laser blasts or underpowered blasterbolts, it is not totally infallible. Other attacks such as those from Lightsabers can still easily penetrate the armor - with the only protection against such against is the armorweave cloak which even then is only limited. Additionally Sonic based weaponry can still tear through the wearer beneath the armor without a second thought.

For the most part its primary strengths remain in the equipment that is integrated into the armor, allowing for the wearer to operate with greater autonomy when capable of doing so.
