Description: The Knife of Kalara is a very minor alchemical trinket, made by Velok for a female friend of his in years gone by.The Knife replicates the function of the Amulet of Kalara, a minor Dark Side artifact designed to conceal its wearer's Force presence. Either through greater subtlety or lesser power, possibly both, the Knife conceals Selka's strength in the Force, but leaves her vulnerable to detection as a person. Its Kalara-based function would be comparable to the similar Force Disperser which Palpatine kept in his office, to help him conceal his true nature from frequent Jedi guests without interfering with their sense of the Force, their surroundings, or him as a person. Selka Ventus is known to have washed out of the Jedi Order and served in the AgriCorps for lack of Force power, and has undergone enough trauma that her occasional anger comes across as entirely natural.

The inscription on the blade is Selkath script, commemorating the tragedy of the Progenitor's death.

The knife's strength and sharpness are not alchemical. It is too small for most weapon functions. Notably, unlike Palpatine's office-based Force Disperser, the Knife must be worn or carried to be effective. If Selka lets go of it or it is separated from her, it will cease to function. This is, among other things, a problem for her personal life. It is, however, immune to detection as a Dark Side artifact itself, which is a small mercy.
