SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Sonic Damper: Eliminates the Pod Racers whine in the cockpit, allowing the pilot to concentrate on their surroundings.
  • Sonic Mapper: Designed for scouting out the areas, reads 100 meters of date from around the cockpit as it drives, storing up to twelve hours of data. Used to map out areas and detect any hidden emplacements.
Strengths:
  • Catch Me If You Can: This is one of the fastest attack craft to date, it is very hard to catch up with a pod racer of this speed, much less hit.
Weaknesses:
  • Paper Hull: It takes generally one to two hits to knock this Pod Racer out of the fight, making it more of a hit and run attack vehicle.
  • The Loud Whine: The noise of the Pod Racer outside is extremely loud, allowing those to have a little bit of time to prepare for an assault or plan an ambush.
  • Hard to Pilot: The Extreme Speed and Maneuverability makes it one of the hardest Pod Racers to fly. Even with a built around Cockpit, it takes time to learn.
  • Trees are Death: It takes an extremely good pilot to navigate on a forest or jungle world, making this vehicle ineffective in those environments save for only the best pilots.
  • Two Together Not Good: Sonic Mappers on the Klinko apparently have a problem working together, therefore if two meet nearby, the Sonic Mappers malfunction and shut down the Pod Racer entirely for two minutes while it reboots with the Sonic Mapper off.
  • Engine Damaged, Other Shuts Off: If the Engine on one side is damaged, the other side shuts off to prevent further damage, making it stop quite quickly and risk a severe crash save for the maneuvering thrusters in the back. If those are damaged as well, just a straight down and lots of metal flying everywhere.
Description:
When an out of date Pod Racer rolled into the production area, people thought it was for Listib Hibins enjoyment though the technicians were quickly mistaken. This was a new project to determine if a Pod Racer can be used as an attack vehicle without risking much weight while adding destructive power. The end result was an odd mash of new and old. To start, the cockpit was completely redesigned to protect the pilot from the unsuspecting marksman. In addition, a Sonic Damper was installed inside the cockpit to mute the loud hum of the engines. In addition, the team added in a Sonic Mapper for just mapping the area around it, hoping it would increase its value as a recon vehicle. The engines were also replaced with some of the largest ones ever produced to accommodate the weight problem. Problems however surfaced rather quickly.

To start, the simple test on blaster fire from a regular E-11 blew a hole right into the left engine on the first firing test. Each test afterwards left a large scorch mark and the next one blowing another hole into it. The test for piloting it showed something other than the pilot crashing sideways into the wall from the extreme speed, the whine was so loud it could be heard for over a kilometer away, making its stealth factor non-existent. When pairing two for a friendly race, both shut down before they started which lead to the Sonic Mappers being the cause of it, now having to add an off and on switch if they come to close to each other. Last was the live-fire test to which one of the engines was shot from a DT-20a which caused the other one to suddenly shut down and plunge downwards, destroying the engines and causing the cockpit to sail across the plains with thankfully, the pilot unharmed.

The tests however showed a remarkable result, almost nothing could hit it. It could turn on a dime and showed how extremely simple of a design it was to work with and with the live-fire tests, destroyed two lightly armored vehicles on its own before being destroyed itself. Overall, it was considered a success though not a large one. The first models were produced and is now available to a selective market of people, hopefully for Listib Hibins to put his foot through the door.
