STANDARD FEATURES
  • All Standard Features
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Kyber-Powered: While the main feature of the Synthetic Kyber power system is the Composite Beam Laser, it produces enough power to run the whole starfighter by itself and as such has improved many systems with extra power. Most notably the engines and other weapon systems, allowing them to perform at their peak power output.
  • Sith Empowerment: One of the main focuses with the inclusion of alchemized materials was to allow the Kissai to be used as a sort of focus by Sith pilots, letting them have an enhanced attachment to the Force and allowing them to make use of some powers even while in the cockpit. Additionally the Synthetic Kyber power system enhances this effect even more, making the whole ship a potent Dark Side beacon.
  • Advanced Equipment: Meant to be a state-of-the-art vessel no expense was spared in outfitting the Kissai with many advanced components and systems in order to make it the deadliest starfighter to grace the galaxy. From specialized and superior sensor equipment to cutting edge weaponry and some of the fastest engines one can find, this starfighter is indeed quite spectacular even without factoring in its more esoteric features.
WEAKNESSES
  • Sorcerous Engineering: Many of the internal workings and components of the starfighter are saturated and composited via Sith Alchemy, meaning that repairs and even regular maintenance of the Kissai craft is all but impossible without a Sith Sorcerer of some degree on hand to aid in it. Upkeep is intense and demanding as a result, with specially trained crews being considered the bare minimum for keeping them functional and especially in fighting condition. This also means that when the ship is subjected to any Force suppression or nullification conditions, not only is the ship all the more brittle and fragile but the power system itself doesn't work properly and may even fully shut down if under such effects for too long.
  • Only the Worthy: Due not only to the insane speed and maneuverability of the Kissai but also its unique Sith Alchemized construction and armaments, only Force Sensitives can really operate the starfighter to any realistic degree. Certain species or droids are able to operate it due to their higher reaction time but even then without the Force the vessel's main weapon can't be properly used and as such NFU pilots are not at all ideal or even fully capable of flying the Kissai.
  • Hot Under the Collar: In order to properly vent excess heat and energy from the Kyber power system, the Kissai features two large Heat Dispersion Vents on either side of the large 'blade' at the front of the cockpit. While these are part of the vessel that is more densely armored, should they be significantly damaged or especially if they were ever blocked to a notable degree due to denting or shrapnel then the power system could overload and even outright destroy the whole starfighter.
DESCRIPTION
Innovation was something a new sphere for the engineers of Wonosa and the Sanguine Defense Works company, for the most part their various projects and designs had been crafted in order to catch them up to other already established powers both within and outside of the Sith. The choice of power system for the Harbinger of Absolution was a rather bold and experimental step for their projects but it proved that what had been a theoretical Kyber power system could indeed work. Of course producing enough synthetic Kyber to have more capital ships powered by it was simply unthinkable, thus designs began for incorporating it into much smaller vessels.

The Kissai is the result of these designs, a sleek starfighter powered entirely by a Kyber lattice system and equipped with advanced systems and components which serve to make it a sort of apex predator among starfighters. It boasts a respectable armament befitting an interceptor but the inclusion of a composite beam laser has given it a great offensive capability against larger starships as well, making it a pitiless and effective hunter of prey of all sizes. Rather unusually for most starfighters, the Kissai features more of a vertical design which is largely due to how the Kyber power system is arranged and distributed as surface area is quite essential to ensure that the system doesn't overload.

Naturally the designs and ability to produce the fighter are closely guarded by the Order of Wonosa and the actual vessels themselves are just as restricted. However, showcases such as the initial debut of the starfighter do show some willingness to share this new weapon with their Sith peers. Albeit on their own terms of course. With war on the horizon for the Sith Order, time will soon tell if the Kissai was indeed worth all of their effort and expense spent to craft it.
