Strengths: Move Baby Move- The Kinetic Recharger is a component designed to be more effective the more it is in motion. It continues to generate energy to recharge power cells so long as it continues to move. This means that higher levels of activity reward a higher level of recharge. The recharger is able to continue to producing some energy for a short time after it stops moving, which the length of which is dependent on the level of activity that was going on before it stops. This can offer up to 30 seconds more production when still at most.

Compact- The Kinetic Recharger is a compact component which allows it to fit into many different kinds of devises. This allows it to be added to everything from holopads to droids allowing them to recharge their power cells which in turn offers longevity of use before needing to be recharged by standard means.

Weaknesses: Standstill- The Kinetic Recharger was designed to offer recharging while in motion, which means so long as it is idle it is not producing energy. This makes it less effective if it is placed in things that move less as well as being less effective if placed in parts of tech that are designed to not move much. The production while standing still is 0, which means it is a waste of space and resources.

Small Scale- The Kinetic Recharger is not designed for larger scale technology. This makes it impractical for use in most vehicles and all starships, as it will not produce nearly enough energy to justify its use with high consumption power cells. The largest item that it can fit into is battle and protocol droids and still be effective enough to work properly.

Long Game- The Kinetic Recharger was designed to recharge power cells, but it takes it time to effectively do so. It is ineffective if used in items that have high consume rates of energy or high spikes of energy consumption. It also can not offer indefinite energy use, only extend how long a power cell it is attached to can last. The item is best if used in items that have steady or low consumption rates.

Description: The galaxy runs off of power cells. They are in everything from holopads to blasters to droids. They are necessary for everything, yet they are finite in how long they can run these items. So Raxis Independent Designs decided to find a way to extend the longevity of power cells instead of creating a more powerful power cell. They did this because it would allow any kind of cell to benefit from it rather than just provide yet another power cell option. After some time going over idea after idea, they ended up settling upon what would ultimately become the Kinetic Recharger.

The Kinetic Recharger operates by using kinetic energy as a source to recharge a power cell, as the name directly suggests. This was inspired by two different concepts, the creation of electromagnetic field and electricity by iron and copper and molecular shielding. The base of the recharger is that of a magnetized, iron rod with copper wire wrapped around it in a coil where the rod can move through the coil. As the rod passes through the coil it creates an electromagnetic field around the coils and electricity. This concept has been used practically for thousands of years in items such as flashlights, so RID took it and pushed the concept further. The recharger contains one or more sets of a rod inside the coil which has a special gel around it that transfers the electricity and energy generated by the formation of the electromagnetic field and rod striking the gel towards the walls of the recharger. At the walls the concept of molecular shielding is utilized. Molecular shielding transfers energy from sources such as blaster bolts and turbo lasers to power cells. The recharger does the same by having the electricity and energy passing through the gel absorbed and then transferred to the top so it can be sent to the power cell via cable.

The Kinetic Recharger is designed by having the iron rod, copper coil, gel, and energy transference wall contained with in a silicar mold. The use of silicar contains the electricity that might escape the transference wall, although this is rare. It also helps to protect all of the materials within from the effects of outside hazards which increases the amount of time it remains usable. The silicar is then surrounded by duraplast to protect the silicar in case it might be struck by something that could damage it. The recharger is then finished by having electronic components attached to the top so it can hook up to power cells via cables so it can send the energy it produces to them.
