From: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Fighting_claw

Fighting claws were weapons used by the Yuuzhan Vong. Fighting claws were actually parasites embedded into the bone of a warrior, usually in their knuckles. A mere contraction of muscles would send the claws out. It was quite painful to extend the claws, but the warriors did so in the name of Yun-Yammka. When released, they could cut through steel. Fighting claws could also stretch up to four times their resting length, giving them a whip-like appearance. The New Republic tried to build several types of hand weapons to fight against this weapon, but most attempts failed, resulting in poor weapons in use against the claw. The claws could also cut through energy shields, as well forcing the Republic soldiers to retreat on many battlefronts because of the overall power of this brutal weapon. The fact that the claw was embedded in the hand made it hard to separate the claw from their hands, making a fight with a Yuuzhan Vong wielding this weapon extremely difficult, since even lightsabers couldn't cut through them, much less swords.
Following the battle of Manaan, Khallesh returned to Alderaan for further training. It was there that it was decided to provide her with further escalated and gifted with further weapons to battle the mighty Jeedai.

Extra-long fighting claws were grafted along her forearms, with her bones being reshaped to accommodate the parasites. When she urges them out, they burst through the back of her hand and extend over two feet. This forces her hands down and whilst she can use her fingers, she is unable to straight her hands whilst they are out. Even after retraction they will leave her in pain.

The claws are remarkably hand and cannot be cut by lightsabers. Anything short of phrik and beskar is liable to be cut by the razor sharp blades.

They do leave her particularly hungry as the parasite requires significant nourishment. If either blades were severed for any reason, the parasite would cause her great internal pain. If the creature survived it would require weeks to recover, and if it died another painful procedure would be required to replace it.

Deliberate removal of the claws requires a procedure lasting several hours, that will likely require several days of recovery for the Yuuzhan Vong. The claws would be destroyed in the process and new ones would have to be shaped. With enough force the claws could be forcibly removed. This would be excruciating for the owner. Bones in the forearm would be gouged, and muscle tissue damaged. A hardy Yuuzhan Vong might not go into shock, but they would risk bleeding out, and at the very least will lose fine motor control of the hand and require surgery.

Tough : The blades are extremely resilient.

Self -sharpening: Th e claws are organic and will regenerate their exceedingly sharp edges between battles (~week)

Heavy: Whilst not particularly heavy blades, they are always within the forearms. The additional weight can affect balance when using an amphistaff as a whip.

Painful: Releasing the blades is exceedingly painful. Not something a Yuuzhan Vong will choose to go through unless necessary (typically when disarmed of amphistaff)

SUGGESTIONS
  • I love the concept, but perhaps others may be interested in also using these extra long biots. Perhaps making it minor produced for anyone else who may want to use the Shapers to shape these types of fighting claws in their body? Just a recommendation, no need to do it, as i know this is for your personal character.
