[SIZE=14.6667px]The KG-3 Zveroboy is a bullpup configured, heavy caliber ripper primary designed for anti-vehicle operations. In the waning days of the old Galactic Republic, then Supreme Commander Suravi [/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px]Teigra commissioned KSA to create a new line of lightweight portable anti-vehicle weapons for light infantry units and special operations forces who traditionally lack the support of dedicated fighting vehicles and air assets. While that initial contract was cancelled[/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px], development continued to supply the Kiribian military and to create a new item for the export market.
The system is built around a repurposed [/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px]Class I Deimos Positron Cannon[/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px], modified for atmospheric use. A quarrel is used to generate a containment field that holds the packet of positrons together, while also preventing them from making contact with the surrounding atmosphere to avoid premature detonation.
The quarrel itself consists of an inertial guidance module, micro-repulsor (for limited flight and minor course adjustments), and a containment field generator. The body is comprised of layer of reinforced [/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px]duraplast, and an outer shell of yorik coral. The duraplast layer protects the delicate components against electronic attack, and EMP/ion attacks. The layer of yorik[/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px] coral prevents easy deflection by opposing Force Users, protecting the quarrel against most forms of direct manipulation.
Against unshielded targets, the [/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px]Zveroby can be quite devastating. The system takes advantage of the phenomena of matter/anti-matter annihilation to turn the surfaces of the target tself into a deadly explosive. Upon direct impact, the positron carrying quarrel will continue to keep flying forward annihilating matter until stopped or it runs out of positrons[/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px] to disperse. Accounting for the use of [/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px]explosive reactive armor [/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px](ERA) and other countermeasures like [/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px]slat armor[/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px], the Zveroboy has a 2 or 3 burst fire mode that allows quick follow up on previously damaged sections, emulating the operation of a tandem charge warhead. Burst mode is also effective in penetrating vehicle shields if they have them.
A secondary effect of the matter/antimatter reaction is the generation of a powerful electromagnetic pulse from the release of gamma radiation. The resulting EMP can fry or temporarily disable electronic components and synthetics within its blast radius. [/SIZE]
