PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Keyara has large brown eyes and long, black hair. Her skin is almond brown, unblemished but for scars most will never see. When out, Key typically covers herself neck to toes in dark, functional clothing, form-fitting, and often wears a cloak and scarf to mask her identity. As a Jedi Shadow, she wears clothes that are easy to move, run, crouch, leap, and avoid detection in. She favors dark green, but is also partial to dark blues and purples.
INVENTORY
Although Keyara does own a lightsaber (dark metal with a decorative, burnished copper ivy motif and a veridian blade) she favors more stealthy weaponry for her Shadow work. To that end, she has an array of knives in specially-designed holsters built into her duty outfits, including at shoulders, waist, hips, wrists, calves, and boots. She also often tucks a spare blade or two into her hair.
PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Suspicious by nature, Key is a natural as a Jedi Shadow. She has seen much of the worst of what the galaxy has to offer and it has informed her worldview. She knows sentients to be brutish, greedy, malevolent, underhand, and cruel. She tempers her disdain for the generally debauched nature of sentients with an optimism that there are individuals, perhaps even societies, that can be helped by the Jedi Order.
STRENGTHS
Stealthy - light on her feet, flexible, and suited to the shadows, Keyara excels in stealth.
Acrobatic Dancer - slender and lithe from history as a dancer, Key utilizes this history to her advantage.
WEAKNESSES
Arrogant - though low-born, Key considers herself to have risen above by attaining the rank of Jedi Knight, and she is eager to keep a layer of distance between her new life and her origins.
Cool - heartbreak and betrayal has taught Key to rely on few and trust fewer; it can make her hard to work with sometimes, and harder to get to know personally.
HISTORY
Keyara Basehere is a woman without a homeworld. She was born to traveling performers in indentured servitude to a Hutt slavelord. She followed in her mother's footsteps, becoming an acrobatic dancer. She became quite skilled in the art of suspending herself from ropes and poles and all sorts, building strength and dexterity in her arms and legs. She was reassigned to other work upon catching the eye of one of the Hutt slavelord's associates, where she was obliged to serve drinks to rowdy gamblers and courtiers in his hall until, during a gang's conquest of the city, she escaped. In trying to track down her family, she encountered a Jedi, who informed her that she was sensitive to the Force and offered to send her to Coruscant for training. That was almost a decade ago; she has recently been granted the rank of Knight and joined the elite Jedi Shadows.
