Following Lily Kuhn's ascendancy to the throne as Empress of the Empress Teta Systems and the subsequent annexation of the system to Galactic Alliance territory, the young monarch has found less time for focusing on the planet's starship manufacturer, Koros Spaceworks, and has slowly shifted responsibility for the design and creation of new starships and other like creations to the company's many talented designers. The first of many, the Keres-class Gunship was designed and produced for the purpose of arming the system against criminal behavior and terrorism, which is expected to be on the rise following the exit from One Sith control.
Armed a bit more heavily than the standard starship of similar proportions, the Keres-Class Gunship is equipped with two Z-6 Rotary Blaster Cannons, one 72 Twin Auto Blaster, and two Flechette Missile Launchers. While this provides a very decent array of choices for dealing with vehicle threats, personnel, and armed criminal activity, the Keres lacks a desirable shielding array and is equipped with components that make it almost entirely for atmospheric use, although it is equipped to travel a maximum distance of planet-to-planet (closest neighbor) within the Empress Teta System. And while the ship is noticeably slow, it has very good maneuverability, enabling versatile turns that can be compared to some starfighters.
