• Scales
Passenger Capacity: 20; as many who can hold on may ride above
Cargo Capacity: None

SPECIAL FEATURES

 • The anti-laser aerosol: The Ke Ahi’ahi emits an anti-laser aerosol that dissipates the lasers that come into effect within the cloud.

 • Remote control: The Ke ahi’ahi is a logicless, mentally inefficient being. It must be remotely controlled by a third party, like most vong tech using a Tall-Yor to mentally link to the Ke ahi’ahi or it must be controlled by a Yammosk.

 • Force dead

Strengths:

 • Breaths fire: The fire the Ke ahi’ahi is hot enough to melt durasteel, incinerate flesh, and destroy massive buildings.

 • Anti-laser arerosol: The Ke ahi’ahi emits an anti-aser aerosol that dampens the effect of all but the most powerful laser blasts. The Ke ahi’ahi’s field isn’t widespread and it inevitably dissipates. The continuous emission helps keep the anti-laser aerosol localized around the biot and its immediate area--about a span of 10 meters in circumference.

 • Mass destruction: The Ke Ahi’ahi makes a massive, ground-leveling amount of destruction. The spray of flames is massive, engulfing everything.

 • Durable: The Ke ahi’ahi will keep going with a limb removed, or when in immense pain. The massive monster is able to soak up damage, but more than that, its scales are able to deflect/absorb blaster and laser fire that gets through the arerosol and a considerable amount of kinetic damage.

 • Force dead

Weaknesses:

 • Slow, ponderous: The Ke Ahi’ahi is slow by nature, an average human could outpace them with a running speed. Speeders could do so even faster.

 • Not-Stealthy: The Ke Ahi’ahi dominates the field at just shy of ten meters tall. This, coupled with the fact that the Ke Ahi’ahi literaly breaths fire makes it an obvious choice for enemy forces to target.

 • Slashing weapons: The Ke Ahi’Ahi’s plates are excellent at repelling projectile, blaster and laser fire--however piercing damage like a vibroblade can easily slide between the scales and damage the behemoth of a monster.

 • Blind: The Ke ahi’ahi is blind, sight is bred out of it. The controller must either be close by or rely on other means to see the battlefield since they cannot gain any visual from the monster itself

 • Indiscriminate: The Ke ahi’ahi will literally burn any friendly units before it. They are a front-line weapon, intended to press an assault against the enemy forces.

 • Remote control: The Ke Ahi’ahi must be remotely controlled by an individual through the typical vong tech telepathic connection. It is a mindless beast.

Description:
RMIA always seeks new and innovative ways to make dead things deader. Sometimes the best way to do that is make a shift on an old play. In this case, it was an incredibly old play, the Fire Breather created by the Yuzzhan Vong ages ago. These monsters are a new take on the ol’ classic.

The Ke ahi’ahi was given greater ability to deal flame damage. Its fire output was increased to melt durasteel if need be. This came at the cost of the Ke Ahi’ahi’s ability to function mentally, essentially the monsters became mindless drones requirement an external control factor. Next Ardgal had his vong shapers create a passenger compartment within the Ke Ahi’ahi’s carapace. They neutered the beast and repurposed its egg sack for troop storage. Up to 20 troops can ride inside if they really squeeze in there.

As a final tweak, the Ke ahi’ahi was given a series of plate armor-like scales ensheathing its body. These scales make the Ke ahi’ahi incredibly resilient to blaster and kinetic damage--however a well placed vibro-blade between the scales could do significant damage to the beast.

All in all, its just an updated take on a vong-era classic.

[member="Ardgal Raxis"], I just wanted to let you know that while we're happy to accept this submission in the Factory, you could also submit this to the Codex if you'd prefer.

[member="Gir Quee"]

I wouldn't have too much of a problem with it, if you feel that would be better. I just sort of thought what I noticed with the Factory's layout it would be easier--especially with the Ke ahi'ahi being unable to reproduce.

[member="Ardgal Raxis"], we have no issue keeping here, but we wanted to make sure that you knew your options. If you don't have any concerns with that, this will be approved in our monthly mass approvals.
