PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
A willowy girl, thin and svelte only just coming in to her form as a young women, and tall for her age. She has her mother's sharp cheek bones, her nose, and even her brunette hair sans a singular, stubborn silver streak she often keeps hidden in the bun she often ties her hair up in. Her eyes are a true reflection of her parentage and are multi-chromatic, with a blending of her mother's emerald green, her father's steel blue and with flecks of gold and silver shot through. Her face his freckled in a way most would call cute, and her skin is often in a soft, perpetual tan owing to her many hours spent outside. Her only noticeable scarring is a single healed cut across the bridge of her nose from a training accident during her early years as an initiate.
She is deceptively strong for her frame, years of jedi training and use of the force to augment her movements have kept her fit as can be.
INVENTORY
Lightsaber.
A slim, elegant saber, befitting her nature, with simple yet intricate plated detailing and a stained wooden grip. It's blade is a bright emerald green. He typically wears it on a belt hook.
Jedi Robes.
A simple set of Padawan's robes, with the one personal detailing being the dyed blue skirt she likes to wear beneath it. Her clock is a standard Jedi brown, with a hood. Her boots are standard field grade boots, her her ensemble is completed with a utilitarian Jedi belt containing a comlink, a field medical kit, and a pair of gloves.
Heirloom pistol.
Not something she keeps on her, more or less kept in her quarters or luggage aboard ship, it is an heirloom IB-94 Officers model, the last memento she has of her mother.
Hair pin.
A silver songbird pin, something her father gave her mother, and that she gave to her near her death. She uses it to keep her hair tied up in a bun.
Sketch Book.
An old fashioned paper sketchbook, she uses it as a journal and doodle pad in her spare time. Has a matching
PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
She is, outwardly, a good person. Her mother instilled in her the benefits of kindness, of compassion, of courage. Her master as tempered those beliefs, helped guide her along the path of refining them in the way of the Jedi. She smiles, laughs, enjoys the nature of the worlds around her and takes pleasure in meeting people, in helping them.
She trains hard, pushes her self, and responds well to her Master's teaching, even if it is unorthodox in the minds of most Coreward Jedi. Still, in those little moments of restlessness, in those moments before she drifts off to bed, she finds her self dwelling on the picture of the young man in a cadet uniform, smiling, and she finds her self resenting him.
STRENGTHS
Forms I & II
Adept level - She is competent in both shii'cho and makashi and is embarking on the advanced stages of both.
Mandolorian Training
An interesting choice, though appropriate given her master's origins. She is versed in both the traditional Mando'a use of swords and hand to hand.
Form III
Novice - Still in the early stages, this tighter, faster forms demands a higher level of control and coordination and stamina.
Force Speed
Adept level - A skill promoted by her ever adaptable master, in leu of raw physical strength she focuses on speed and agility, and will make use of this power to augmented it.
WEAKNESSES
Light Weight
While tall, she is not particularly dense, and that lack of mass matters in a fight. A properly strong opponent could, depending on skill, rapidly over power her if surprise is achieved.
Short Breathed
A small, light frame equals a small chest cavity, and lungs to match. While she is capable of rather impressive bouts of speed and agility, this comes at the cost of only limited endurance, forcing her to pick her moments wisely or risk tiring quickly.
HISTORY
For such a bright girl, one could not imagine some of the sorrow that burdens her. Her mother was the heir to a well off but not well known merchant family in the core, and with a bright future for her self upon receiving entrance in to the Anaxes Naval College on the world of the same name. She was similarly bright, driven, and personally trying to escape the loving, but strict and often smothering house hold she grew up in. As her mother would eventually relate to her some where near her 7th birthday, she met a young man at Anaxes, a dashing man, a fellow cadet officer. The two were attracted to each other the moment they met each other, and while relationships among cadets where not expressly forbidden, the consequences of it where.
Add on the fact that her love was found passed out in the bed of another cadet, stinking of the drink, and she left. Took a resignation instead of an expulsion. Returning to her family, now pregnant, Katiara's mother was met with quiet disappointment, and as time went on, even derision and scorn. This would typically led to women of lesser character to resenting, even hating their child, but her mother was no such person, and tried her best to raise her daughter the best she could. Even after being kicked out with a newborn, even after being cut off.
Eventually they settled in a cramped, small apartment on Corellia. Her mother worked hard, did her best, yet around Katiara's 7th birthday, she fell ill. A genetic defect, something not commonly seen nor screened for, slowly took her life away. Only after her mother's death did her extended family come, and when they tested her for the same illness, found her potency in the force through a blood test. She was handed off to the Jedi on Coruscant, and while she was lonely, quickly found a second home and family among them.
She would spend most of her youth thus far on the city world, training an an initiate, then becoming a padawan under Master Vex. He was kind. Firm, strict even in some ways, but was more of a father to her then her own father was. He taught her in both the way of the Jedi, and when that was found wanting, instructed her in the ways of his people. She blossomed under his teaching, and the two grew to have a good relationship.
The sacking of Coruscant came not to long before her 13th birthday, and while she did not have to fight, she did watch the horror of it when her master fought off the attackers attempting to kidnap the younglings she was charged to protect. They made it off world, no real worse for ware, but that day stayed with her, and she still carries the shadow of it.
Veridia was a good change of pace for her, nice, natural spaces and warm air and sunshine, she even constructed her second and current saber with wood from it's trees. Still, she carried the shadow over her, of that day, and of a quietly growing hatred for the man that wronged her mother.
