The Mess hall- The Mess hall is a meeting place of sorts, where folks meet and greet and eat. The cooks abaord supply the finest grub in the deep space!
The Armory- Weapons are stored here. Lot's of grenads, rifles and various blades and launchers. If the station comes under attack, everyone draws their weapon and gets a move on.
The Control Center- The Heart of Kathlan, located at the center of the station. From here the station is controlled. Automatic defense systems, scanners and life support come from here. All systems can be locked down and ovverode from here as well.
The Central Hangar- Located underneath the Control center themain hangar is a Zero-G chamber that houses various starships and fighters pointed nose down. If the station comes under attack the hangar doors open and the vessels can launch directly downwards and into the space below the station. This creates a quick bug out plan and defensive perimeter if needed.
Description:
Kathlan station is a sprawling space station, located at the outer edges of the galaxy. It was originally rumoured to be ASA equipment before drifting astray during their collapse. As the station was a medical depot it was chock full of supplies and refits for fleets passing through.
Taken by force from Pirates by Vassara Raxis and various elements of the Expeditionary Fleet, Underground and other allies, it has been re purposed. It now serves a sanctuary and asylum for Underground and EF members. Used as a trading hub, medical facility and fleet refit station it is a valuable launching point for both factions.
Another feature of the station is that the location is carefully guarded and only known by handful of people, and a bunch of random pirates, most of which are dead. Can it be found? Sure, but not without some stringent investigation...
History:
The history of Kathan is largely unknown. Some say it belonged to the CIS before they changed to the ASA. Others say it was built as medical station for the ASA. During the collapse of the factions outer territories Kathlan was lost. A freak engineering accident killed everyone on board and caused it to drift off into space.
In the end Pirates found her at the edge of space, taking her over an carving out a space amongst the goods. Discovered by a failed hyperspace jump, it's coordinates were relayed across the underground network and Vassara moved to explore it. Upon arrival a fierce battle ensued, in which the Underground and elements of the newly forged Expeditionary Fleet took her over.
