OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a homeworld for a new species and a future character.
  • Canon: N/A
  • Links: Brakkus
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Planet Name: Kassus
  • Demonym: Kassian
  • Region: Outer
  • System Name: Primus System
  • System Features: Class A star, two molten worlds close to the center, one brown dwarf star extremely far out (aka, a massive superheated gas giant) and one planet and two moons orbiting the brown dwarf, one of these moons is Kassus
  • Coordinates: U-52
  • Major Imports: Food stuffs
  • Major Exports: Manufactured goods such as armor, weapons, and droids manufactured with automated factories
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
  • Gravity: 17% of Standard
  • Climate: The vacuum of space
  • Primary Terrain: Stereotypical Lunar environments, mountains, ravines, craters, freezing dusty deserts, etc.
  • Major Locations:
The Habitat:
The Habitat is a massive network of underground metal structures and tunnels housing the last population of Grakki, ranging in the millions. The Habitat was designed purely for efficiency, very little decorations, most tunnels and rooms are gray and dull, the only decorations that do exist are sculptures and banners to revere their deity, an AI that runs The Habitat and Solar Network. Yet even the statues serve a purpose, filled with scanning equipment and cameras to keep track of the population.

Every 1000 housing units are connected directly to a large Arboretum that serves also as a communal farm that every resident is expected to help work. These farms/parks are the only areas of The Habitat directly exposed to the surface of Kassus, massive above ground windows letting solar light poor in to feed the plants and provide a place of comfort for the population. These Arboretums also serve as ground access areas to the Solar Network.

Solar Network:
The Solar Network is a series of solar farms, as well as buildings and roads for the workers who keep these farms in order and keep them in working order. These roads and solar farms give the illusion of an above surface civilization that has somehow existed on this moon. The Energy is used to fuel the Artificial Intelligence that the natives worship as a god, as well as The Habitat in general.

POPULATION

  • Native Species: N/A
  • Immigrated Species: Grakki, Nerfs
  • Population: Moderately Populated
  • Demographics: Grakki 96% Other 4%
  • Culture:
The Grakki are fanatically religious, something that historians and philosophers theorized was implemented by the Artifical Intelligence running the system in an effort to keep the population under control. It caught on, and now every minute of their existence is a ritualization of basic mundane tasks, from farming to keeping machines in order that they do not even understand anymore, to expanding the tunnels and server or solar farms in order to fuel their machine god.

Their religion teaches order and absolute obedience to the holy texts of their deity, a cemented upper class of techno priests who can be identified by their cybernetic implants and tattoos of machine schematics covering their flesh. These priests serve as engineers and law enforcement within The Habitat. Their great holy temples are actually massive computers and server farms that house their AI deity, places their god quite literally dwells. There are also prisons attached to these temples, where organics can be melted down into pure energy to fuel the deity. Any and all criminals meet this fate as crime is not tolerated in the least.

These Technopriests keep the population on a strict schedule, having ritualistic prayers every 6 hours in which they commune with the Artificial Intelligence. The AI then listens to them via brain chips implemented at birth, and may even answer their prayers if able.

GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Theocratic Technocracy
  • Affiliation: Mectus (their AI deity)
  • Wealth: Low, there is no such thing as money within the Grakki, in fact, their priests have wiped the very words associated with monetary gain from their society.
  • Stability: High
  • Freedom & Oppression: Very Oppressed, but the people are content as their every need is given to them by their benevolent deity AI, and they are given meaningful jobs that they will enjoy after dozens of rituals which the AI uses to asses their personalities and abilities.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: The AI deity has a small guard force of droids under his control, but rarely has a need for them as the society it has engineered usually can take care of itself.
  • Technology: High but low. The AI is incredibly advanced and continues to progress the society, however, the people themselves barely understand what they are doing technologically.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Upon the destruction of Brakkus, Grakki astronauts and colonists on Kassus banded together in a central location to found The Habitat. At first it was just three large rooms and some glass domes used to grow food above the surface. Yet constant asteroid bombardment and radiation from the nearby star drove them deeper and deeper into Kassus.

The Habitat continued to grow, shaped and guided by Mectus, the AI designed by the early engineers to run The Habitat. Tunnel networks continued to expand, massive atriums for social gatherings, medical bays to heal the sick and to tweak DNA to stop the results of any inbreeding until a stable genetic pool was created due to such a small amount of survivors.

However these technological wonders were short lived. As the society became more and more reliant on Mectus and became more and more disinterested in learning, soon few understood the machines and technology that kept them alive. Instead, Mectus guided them through religion and tradition into a stable environment which he still uses today to control the masses and keep them alive as should he be destroyed they would surely be incapable of surviving.

Looks good.

I'm going to stamp these both pending- but I need to remind you that if you intend to submit these for inclusion on the map, you may only submit *one*, not both. Being in the same system pick which one (I would recommend Kassus since it's the inhabited one) to submit there.

Pending secondary.
